Enjoy some good food and hot drinks at Poppies on the Hill Café while you’re at it – we guarantee you’ll want to stay longer! See you there this Sunday 29th May from 9.00am – 2.00pm.
Update on the mountain bike trails According to t Update on the mountain bike trails

According to the Bunya Mountains Mountain Biking Facebook page, the trails are set for a public opening in June this year. The delay is due to the need for further maintenance work along the trails to clear vegetation and repair animal damage; as well as the installation of trailhead signage and protective low-level bridge-like structures along the trails to help deter the spread of Phytophthora disease.

So, there’s not long to go now until these fantastic trails will be fully operational. Keep an eye on the progress of the trails on the Bunya Mountains Mountain Biking Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/BunyaMtnsMtb

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, as well as those who love like a mother! We hope you enjoy a delightful day in the company of those you love and being thoroughly spoilt by your family.

Who loves driving up the mountain to the Bunya Mou Who loves driving up the mountain to the Bunya Mountains, and watching the scenery change like magic from the dry and dusty scrubby plains to the lush, green, overarching rainforest? The change is startling when you first visit the Bunya Mountains, as it hardly seems possible that such a rainforest oasis could exist in the midst of the surrounding lowlands. But the more you come to this special place, the more you’ll feel as if you’re entering another world as you begin the climb up the mountain. You can almost feel the cares and stresses of your ordinary life falling away the higher you climb into the realm of tranquillity and peace that you’ll find at the Bunya Mountains.

Spoil your mum for Mother’s Day with a weekend a Spoil your mum for Mother’s Day with a weekend away!

It’s not too late to secure the perfect Mother’s Day gift – a weekend away at the Bunya Mountains! Don’t go for a gift that will probably just end up in landfill sooner or later, or the traditional flowers or chocolates that won’t last - instead give Mum an experience. Not only will she get to relax, unwind and enjoy a peaceful weekend amongst spectacular natural beauty, she’ll also come away with memories that will last a lifetime. A gift like this allows families the chance to spend quality time together and create deeper bonds – and what could be more suitable for Mum than that?

It’s the perfect way to thank your mum for everything she does and show her how much she means to you. Availability is becoming limited for the Mother’s Day weekend, so don’t take too long to check out those properties with availability here: https://bunyamountains.com.au/accommodation-search/

Ever see this at the Bunya Mountains? The wallabie Ever see this at the Bunya Mountains? The wallabies are everywhere around the mountain, of course, and occasionally you might spot some of the young males play fighting to help develop their fighting skills. And why do they need fighting skills? Often, it’s to help determine their social rank, to gain access to females, to protect themselves against predators or to gain access to things in limited supply, such as water or shade. The young wallabies fight playfully as a training exercise, which is helpful in preparing them for life as an adult.

It can be fascinating watching the behaviour of the local native animals – there’s always something interesting to see!
