This is a wonderful home, perfect for a large group, Nice and clean and modern, a great amount of space both indoors and out. Well equiped kitchen, and good sized bbq. Log fire a perfect end to the day. Only downside was there was not enough outdoor chairs to sit on the huge deck and watch the sunset. Also, there is no driveway to unload cars so your shows get a little muddy!

The house was nice and large - perfect for a big family or a few couples. The house looks like it was built within the last few years, so everything is still new and in good condition. It had pretty much everything we needed, including a well appointed kitchen and a laundry. The rear deck is nice and big and gets the afternoon sun (which in winter, was nice). I wouldn't stay there again in winter though, as the house has a few flaws when it comes to heating. The house doesn't seem to be well insulated; the floors are very cold, and the only two heat sources are the fire place and a single split system aircon, which are both in the main, open, large living area. Whilst the high ceiling is aesthetically pleasing, it's terrible for heating as it creates a massive space for all the hot air to get trapped in, far away from where you want it to be. With the fire raging, and the aircon on as warm as it would go, the temperature inside struggled to get past 16 degrees at night, and once the fire died down, it dropped below 10 degrees. The bed rooms have no heating, and were single digit temperatures (we took a thermometer). There were electric blankets on all the beds, which was nice, but showering in an 8 degree bath room with even colder floor tiles wasn't pleasant. I'm surprised that a new house was allowed to be built in that location without floor insulation and double glazed windows & doors so that it could be heated efficiently. That's the only negative thing I can say; and in the right season, it wouldn't be an issue.

Great stay, the house was perfect. Being new had all the mod cons, really liked the electric blankets! This is about our 5thor 6th stay at the Bunyas and no matter what the weather, we always enjoy the walks, mixed with good food and red wine in front of the fire. Hot chocolate at Poppies after the walk.

Overall the facilities were fantastic and the stay was great. A couple of items for improvement: 1 No flat, covered parking for car(s). Lucky we did not get hail during the storm on our last night. 2 The Fire was virtually impossible to keep lit overnight. Putting more logs on in the early hours of the morning was the only way to keep it lit. The Fire was only needed nights and in the mornings.

Hi, Our stay at Silent Skies is great and the house with 4 bedrooms & 2 bathroom was a good size for 2 families. We do enjoy the weather and hiking around the area.
Louise Larsen
Beautiful accommodation the ladies and I felt so at home and enjoyed our weekend.

Our first time in the Bunya Mountains. We loved the open plan living and bug Verandah. The bird life came to say hello. Saw a dingo and wallabies from our Verandah. Great to have puzzles and books available. Trails were well maintained and not difficult to walk.

In short Silent Skies was perfect! A lovely spacious modern house of quality. It had everything we needed and more. The outlook from the back verandah was very picturesque and peaceful. We were only two couples, but the property could have handled four couples or a large family easily. Key pickup and drop off was easy as was the booking process. We will be back.

This was our second visit to this property & we love it. We plan to return next year! Silent Skies is a brilliant house for sitting back on the huge deck & relaxing. The house has a fantastic kitchen & spacious dining & living area for up to 8 people. We have been a group of 6 both visits & there is space for everyone to sit around together or space for time alone to read or just enjoy the view or sky gaze at night. Recommended!

First time to Bunya Mountains, we absolutely loved it and the house. Couldn't wipe the smile off the girls faces when feeding the King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Bush Magpies, Cat Birds etc. The Bunya Pines too really are a national treasure and must be protected forever. Coomba Falls approximately 30 minutes drive was a lovely spot for a swim and so ancient with the Jurassic rock formations and huge Grass Trees. I really hope that Bunya Mountains will always remain accessible for all Australians and visitors alike to enjoy and appreciate (unlike Mount Warning).
Graeme Schuller
Beautiful big verandah with a great view of the forest. The bird life was varied and amazing.

A beautiful modern and luxurious home. the kitchen facilities were great, the home is spacious and the balcony is large and lovely. the beds were super comfortable and it is private away from the neighbours. we had magpies and cockatoos visiting us on the balcony and the occasional wallaby in the yard. very nice.

We had a fabulous family weekend staying at Silent Skies. The house was perfect for our extended family get away. The mountains are beautiful regardless of what the weather is like.
Michael Costa
Nice outlook from the back deck. Spacious. The birds and wallabies are frequent visitors.

Beautiful space inside and out with lots of room to spread out and relax. The fire place worked really well.
Chris Morgan
A beautifully appointed property. Absolutely loved the fire place as sadly we spent most of our stay shrouded by clouds and rain. 4 of our 5 days sadly. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. Having linen provided as part of the package was a wise decision. The local parrots also visited which we loved. An easy walk to the village and the look out. Poppy’s cafe never fail. Scones were delightful as was their soup. We were able despite the weather hike too. Very enjoyable too. Would highly recommend a stay at this property for a large group or a small one like ours. This is our second stay in the mountains and equally as enjoyable. We also to Kingaroy and Dalby and they too were really enjoyable experiences. We will be back.

The pictures don't do the size of this house justice, it has a massive open floor plan, which is perfect for young kids and indoor games after a big day walking on cold days. Electric blankets keep everything cosy at night. Great to have some massive coffee plungers, so bring your own coffee if you like an early morning brew before Poppy's and the Tavern open.
Claire Gapp
The house was a perfect size for 2 families and very well equipped. My only negative comment would be the beds were not very comfortable which affected everyone’s sleep. Some mattress toppers would probably be appreciated. Apart from that we had a lovely stay ☺️

Loved our extended family stay at Silent Skies. This accomodation has plenty of seating in dining and lounge area in front of the fire. The home was lovely and quiet and just a short drive to the start of the walking trails.

We had a lovely stay, graced with occasional visits from Crimson Rosella's, King Parrots, and Satin Bowerbirds. Close to everything, well priced, and very peaceful. I can highly recommend this lodge.

We had a lovely and relaxing time catching up. Silent Skies is a very well appointed property with ample space and accessories.

Chose Silent Sky because it looked the clean and relatively new. Think it suited our family wonderfully. We had an amazingly lovely stay - really enjoyed the walking proximity without being right next to the carpark etc. I was initially worried about the closeness to the main road without fencing and thought traffic noise could be a challenge, but in actuality, this was simply just not an issue. Birds and some wildlife visited us each morning before our walks and explorations and again in the early evenings. We used the Poppy's Cafe bird seed (hope this wasn't against any feeding of wildlife rules) and it definitely added GREATLY to our stay.
Nikki RALPH
Fabulous House, with all the amenities, spacious with huge deck to overlook the beautiful landscape. Very private, no neighbors. Plenty of birds and wallabies, so quiet and majestic. No under cover parking, needs just that little finish off, but the house was great.

A wonderful house for our family to enjoy. We appreciated the space, the long counter suitable for buffets and the deep bath to soak in.
Michelle Garside
We absolutely loved our stay here, it was very comfortable with a ton of space and beautiful facilities. The bath is enormous and the beds were very plush. The parrots were very friendly and the kids loved feeding them birdseed on the huge veranda.
Shonelle Atkin
The house was absolutely beautiful. Huge and spacious and although we had 8 people it didn't feel cramped at all. Very modern and the fireplace worked well. Kitchen was well equipped and verandah was large. Only criticisms that I have is that the lawn is full of stinging nettles which one of our kids fell on, and some landscaping would be nice. And also some body wash or soap would be nice as I didn't think to bring it.

Best first time experience at Bunya Mountains and the house was clean, cosy and homely. Would definitely stay at this house again as the room setup was perfect for our group.
Hans and Leona Pettersson
Fantastic house in great location. Very quiet with lovely views.
Catherine Carter
Fantastic house for a big family, lovely views, easy access to everything. However, it would be so much better if the owners could invest in some towel rails/hooks in the bathrooms (HUGE space but toileteries, towels and clothes have to go on the floor!). Also the main bedroom has a huge walk-in wardrobe area but absolutely no hanging space, because the cupboards are locked for private use. With a few little amendments this house could be truly excellent.
Mindy Peck
Very comfortable house. Had everything we needed.
Jillian Rickard
Silent Skies is a beautiful house. We enjoyed our stay. There’s plenty of room. And it’s very quiet.
Paula Stewart
Lovely home, beautifully finished and very comfortable way to enjoy the Bunya's

Brand spanking new dwelling. Needs a few floor rugs to soften the sound of the lovely polished floors. Very clean. Spectacular bathroom.

Spacious, well presented, spotlessly clean, modern appliances and a lovely view from the sunny back deck. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely break enjoying family time. The staff at the accommodation center were so helpful and friendly. Silent Skies home is just beautiful - spacious and warm.
Ben Connolly
Nice new house, but unfortunately a couple of things that weren't quite up to the usual Bunya Mountains standard. I'm sure they are just teething issues.
