Bunya Mountains are an isolated section of the Great Dividing Range. They rise abruptly from the surrounding plains to an average elevation of 975m reaching over 1100 metres at Mts. Mowbullan and Kiangarow. The closest large towns of Dalby – Kingaroy and Nanango are all approx. 60km from the Bunya Mountains in different directions.

Climate

Mild with temperatures ranging between freezing and 30degrees. We are 7 – 10 degrees cooler than most other places and have 4 distinct seasons. Always bring some warm clothing when visiting Bunya Mountains – even in summer. Our average rainfall is approx. 1050mm/annum and heavy fogs and mists are common during extended rain periods.
