My family of 12 stayed at Restful Retreat for 3 nights. The house was clean and spacious. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice size patio to relax and quietly watch the wildlife roam. The birds are huge though. The beds were comfortable to sleep on and there were a number of books and games to entertain the teenagers. There was plenty of room for 12 people to sit around comfortably and relax, chat, play games. We had 1 fob for 3 cars to get in and out of the gate but I liked that we had an open gate to walk in and out. Early morning walks (4Kms) through the park was so quiet, no breeze and relaxing. Watch for snakes though. Restful Retreat is situated in walking distance to the tavern, shop and coffee shop.

Many thanks for yet another wonderful stay at the Bunyas. Restful Retreat was awesome - plenty of room for the 10 of us. We really loved the open plan living dining area with fireplace it warmed up the whole area making it warm and cozy. It was approx our 12th visit to the Bunyas and we shall be back again.

Had a wonderful weekend staying at Restful Retreat in the beautiful Bunya Mountains. This is our 5th visit to this lovely home and we always enjoy our stay. As locals we often overlook what's in our backyard but so enjoy that the Bunya's is only half an hour away. I would recommend to anyone with a large group or family to consider staying at Restful Retreat. It is a comfortable modern well equiped holiday home.

The house was clean, comfortable and had a brilliantly resourced kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 👌🏽🌲☺️

This home is utterly gorgeous! The home looked quite normal from the outside but once you entered, your jaw dropped. The property is well spaced out, with more than enough beds for the whole family. We had King Parrots, Wallabies, a Possum with her baby and even bush turkey's come and visit us. Our kids had photo's holding the parrots, they were so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning!

An amazing house which is perfectly set up for a large group, we had 6 of us in the kitchen and could still move around. We particularly appreciated the 2 fridges and the different sitting areas. We will definitely be staying here again.

I usually book for either the Xmas or New Year period at the Bunyas for the extended family, and everyone thoroughly enjoys the time there. With the forest walks, feeding the birds, taking photos....it's always a lovely experience, and lovely meals at the Tavern or Poppies if you don't want to cook. The Bunyas is lush, green and cool, and is a hidden gem we are lucky to experience

Restful Retreat is a wonderful property, the whole family (8 adults and 3 children) had very comfortable beds in large bedrooms. The kitchen/lounge is huge and is big enough for different groups to have their own little space or for us all to gather together. Plenty of wood for the fire which kept the house warm at night and early mornings. Great outlook with wallabies and parrots regular visitors. The only down side was the bar-b-que. Being a large group we imagined cooking most meals outside on the deck. The bar-b-que is a Weber with a grill only, making it impossible to cook onions, tomato, mushrooms, bacon and eggs. Moved to the fry pans in the kitchen to cook for 11 people and most have such thin bases they buckled as they heated up. If you could replace the bar-b-que with a one with a plate this house would be perfect.

Great wildlife and walks. Accommodation was very comfortable with a good fireplace and warm comfortable beds.

The Bunya Mountains is a great place to getaway to and the accomodation was centrally located to walks and local cafe's. It was a spacious well appointed home with great open plan living and a fantastic fireplace that heated the whole area even over a cold weekend. Hire of bedlinen was expensive so we brought our own but were surprised to see very few provisions that we expected [like tea, coffee, sugar, hand soap. hand towels etc]. Extra toilet rolls/bin bags and dishwasher tablets were expensive too [$1 for toilet roll] so bring some of your own! Wood for the fire was provided which was great. I'd reccomend this as a great getaway.

The house was fantastic. Well equipped kitchen. A slow cooker would be an appliance to consider to have. Loved the two fridges, the bathrooms were excellent. The pillows are a little old and the waffle blanket was a single on a queen size bed. A little small. Overall a wonderful place and would stay again

Absolutely love the Bunyas. If you want cooler weather and the excuse to use the fireplace then the Bunyas is the place to go at any time of the year. We were there in early November and wore winter clothes over our stay! The wildlife is amazing and the rainforest walks are incredible. So peaceful in the estate, so it’s extremely easy to relax and enjoy family time together . We were fortunate enough to be there to see the fireflies too. Coffee from the store and cafe were equally great! A Magical place to get away and especially enjoy the bird life!

This house is great for extended family. Loads of room, and good amenities. The kitchen was a great size, and two large fridges, meant plenty of food space. Some decent wine glasses would be welcomed.
Jessie HOLCOMBE
Such a beautiful and spacious house. One of the best ones I have stayed in. It was nice and clean and had a bulk amount of utensils, cups ect. There are games and so many books. Would highly recommend booking if you have a large group.

This was a magnificent home that our Groom, Best man and guest used whilst we were in the Bunyas for our wedding. The house was very comfortable and spacious. We utilised this home to provide a BBQ for all the guests, family members and bridal party totalling 30 people. The furniture and fitting were very modern and all beds were very comfortable. We thank the owners for allowing us to use this home.
Mala Ekanayake
Well equipped house. Loved the spacious kitchen and quality utensils. 2nd stay and definitely will be back.

My family of 10 and 2 toddlers enjoyed the layout of the lovely big house and the birds and wallabies that visited each day.

Thank you to the lovely staff at BMA for the great customer service, leading up to and during our stay at the Bunyas. You are always so busy but still so willing to assist. Thank you. To the owners of Restful Retreat we would like to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We do a Mother / Daughter week up the mountain every year and your house is very well set out to accommodate us all. Mum is in her 90’s and lives out West so loves the peace and serenity of the Bunyas as do we all. Such a great place to stay and some lovely memories made. Thank you.

I have been staying in this accommodation for around the last 12 years and have been very happy with the area and everything supplied, I am part of a group that meet at Restful Retreat for lunch on Saturday and Sunday for our conference. I wish to continue to use this facility.

Fabulous house for a large group. Well appointed, clean, beautiful outlook

House was perfect size & fit for our family group of 8 adults and 3 children - kitchen well equipped; open plan living area so conducive to chatting, chilling, relaxing and enjoying the fireplace which kept us warm on a couple of chilly days.
Leanne Parsons
Have stayed in restful retreat before and enjoyed our stay . However this stay was less than enjoyable due to a non functioning oven for the duration of our stay and the discovery of three used nappies in the house. Two under a bed and another in a bathroom cabinet. This was very unpleasant to find.
Liz Thomas
House and contents good but heating terrible. For such a big open kitchen dining and living area the fire box did nothing to heat the room you spend most time in. Ten of us had to huddle close around the fire. We were freezing the two days we were there. We were very disappointed. If the house is rented in winter aircon needs to be installed in that area.
Julie Hartwig
A great property for our group of 7. Restful Retreat presented well and was clean and tidy upon arrival. We had plenty of space in the light and airy main living area. The kitchen was well appointed with 2 massive fridges and plenty of kitchen equipment. The living room furnishings and beds were comfortable. The woodburner was too efficient, heating the entire house! Great that one of the toilets was separate from the main bathroom! Property accessibility was relatively easy for some of our mobility challenged group. The main attractions around Dandabah were within walking distance (all downhill walking) but the return walk was relatively steep - we used cars after the first outing. We would stay at this property again.
Zoran Grubisa
Restful Retreat is a beautiful house with plenty of space for one big family or two families. Such a clean and spacious space with plenty of sitting area for adults and separate areas for kids. The kitchen is very big and beautiful to cook in. Beautiful views from every window, verandah is big outside. Just couldn’t recommend it more. The staff at the accommodation centre are very friendly and their service is exceptional. We will definitely be back again! Thank you!
Karen Reid
We had a lovely time at the restful retreat. The house has plenty of room to spread out and verandah to sit out and enjoy the wildlife. Well equipped kitchen and great having two fridges.
Susan Robertson
This is a beautiful house with all the personality of a home! I have never been to a holiday house with as many kitchen utensils and platters etc for entertaining. it is very close to the shops and walking tracks a well. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants an enjoyable time at the Bunya Mountains.

Very comfortable professionally presented.

Brilliant stay! Love the layout of this house, so many options to sit and relax. Also how the kitchen is stocked. It had everything we needed. Check in and out process was so easy. Thank you!
Julie Davies
Loved Restful Retreat. We had a few days of sewing, talking & eating. The house was well suited for us to spread all our gear out. Loved the fact we all got a queen bed. Love to come back again.

Such a beautiful “restful” weekend with our family at the Bunya mountains. Beautiful home, most magic surroundings and walks. We will be back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home with lots of space for the family to relax and unwind. The service from the booking office was fantastic - easy check in, check out! Thank you so much

4610. Upon first entering the house we were very impressed by the spacious interior and this catered for our family of 9 members in every way. All our needs were met and more. We thoroughly enjoyed every outside facility in the area. This was a first time visit for several of our family members, especially the younger ones interacting with the birds and wallabies. They loved the place and said they would be definitely returning in the future. We also will certainly recommend "Restful Retreat". The office staff were extremely efficient in handling the booking process during this very trying time with Covid. Thank you everyone!
Kay Neale
We had a wonderful relaxing time with family. Grandchildren loved the wallabies and birds.
Loretta McGill
We love this house. Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen has everything you need.
Lizz Geppert
This property is absolutely beautiful, a large kitchen, dining and living area with windows looking West North West. The veranda on the North West side of the house was the spot of choice for us in the morning and afternoon where we watched the birds and kangaroos. Very peaceful and not far to walk to the shops and walking trails. We will be making another booking in this exact place as we loved it so much.
Tracey Newton
Great stay at the Bunya Mountains. Restful Retreat is perfect for our families needs.
Christina Timmer
Restful Retreat was an amazing house! We have tried 7 houses so far and this is the best one. The living area is much bigger than the picture shows with 12 seats worth of couches that are set up in 2 areas but can be opened to one large seating area. The whole house is modern looking with beautiful bathrooms and a large kitchen. The back deck is stunning with a nice view, ample seating, a Webber bbq and easy access down to the grass. The house is also in a good spot with only a short walk to the shops. This house is ideal for 5 couples or a few families with kids due to its large living area.
Debbie Redemski
We all had a terrific time, it all went off very well from booking to leaving. The house was exceptional, a terrific layout for a group of people. No complaints from us, we all said let's do it again
Eric and ann Brooks-Donald
A wonderful time was had celebrating a special occasion. Perfect spot to relax and unwind and make memories. The bird life was amazing and the horse and carriage ride is a must. The little ones loved it. Thank you.
Judy Burgin
Comfortable house with everything you need for a relaxing break.
Jane Moller
Fantastic house with spectacular views....an ideal spot for a catch up with friends and family, taking in the breathtaking scenery and sunsets from the verandah over a coffee or wine! Lots of space to spread out, enjoy and relax during your stay. Can’t wait for our next visit!

This is the third time my group has stayed at Restful Retreat. There were a couple of new people this time and they were all very impressed with the property. The house has everything you could ask for to accommodate a large group. It is a beautiful house and the amenities provided are plentiful. I will definitely be staying here again.
Loretta McGill
Loved this house. Had everything we needed. We found the Webber BBQ not what we were used to. It needed a flat plate as well as the grill. The open plan lounge and dining area is spectacular.
Suzy Werry
Generally really happy, bed very comfortable, great having electric blanket, good fire and plentiful supply of wood. Clean and comfortable, would be very happy to stay there again. Well equipped and comfortable. Due to large open lounge / kitchen area, needs additional heating.
Fiona Broksch
We LOVE this house. This was our 5th visit, but it was a bit disappointing. The house was not as clean at it should have been, in particular the floors and the bathrooms. There was no surface spray or dish washing liquid and only one dishwasher tablet which is not enough for four nights. There was also not enough toilet paper for four nights. Much of the crockery and glass ware seems to have been broken or removed as there are no small bowls and only 5 wine glasses. The oven may need maintenance as it takes a long time to heat up. We also lost the tv signal many times which hasn't happened before.
Liz CHAPMAN
The property was excellent-well maintained, well equipped and neatly presented. There were a few minor issues - no gas for bbq and dirty kitchen windows (oil splatter all over them). For summer comfort it would be good to have a screen on the front door to allow air flow and to keep bugs out, and 1-2 ceiling fans in the main living area for when there is no breeze getting in on really hot days. But othetwise- A lovely house. We'd come again!!!
