We had the best time , our house was cozy and clean. The weather never has to be perfect to enjoy the mountain, the Restaurant, walks and view makes it perfect no matter the weather . Best place to enjoy family time .

Lovely cosy house. Wildlife and birds to see from the back patio, very entertaining. Plentiful supply of wood to keep the fire going our entire visit, 3 days. Bush walks and monthly market really good.

Great value for money. We were so happy with our stay, the house had everything we needed, and were clear about what it didn’t supply eg. Linen. Very clean and welcoming. Loved it thank you, will definately return

A very relaxing time, loved the wallabies grazing on the green grass and pleasantly surprised how tame the parrots and other birds were. Only disappointment was with the maps showing the forestry tracks. The maps didn't look like they had been drawn by a drafter. The insert of the bottom car park was skewed on the larger map and not in the correct orientation, should have been in the north-south orientation. And the map gives the indication that there is only one entrance to the tracks. We saw the first entry point but not the second entry point and consequently walked much further than anticipated (Track 5 instead of Track 2). Track 5 could do with a few seats and signs to tell distances from the entry point to the destinations. Please note that due to a serious medical condition for which I am still receiving treatment, I have not been able to walk longer than 2 klms for 2 years. That's why we planned to walk Track 2, the easy short walk. My wife and I were very worried we could have a medical incident when we reached the T junction showing distances to Paradise carpark and the Paradise Falls etc. We returned the way we came but were worried as we saw no one on Track 5 and had no mobile phone coverage.

Clean and comfortable, well stocked house. Walking distance to the village. No aircon or fans, so would avoid in peak summer.

Our stay at Rosella retreat was very comfortable. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. It was a short walk to hotel, coffee and walks. The native animals and birds were an added treat.

Pros: 1. Bunya Mountains NP is a fantastic place to explore. 2. The fireplace was great. Cons: There are a few things which we were unhappy with. 1. Some dishes, cups and cutlery in the kitchen had not been washed and dried properly, some were still dirty. 2. The blankets provided for guest use had not been washed, they smelt quite bad and we were unable to use them. The doona cover in the master bedroom looked like it had not been washed and it was covered in lint. Far from hygienic! We were unable to use any of these blankets during our stay. 3. The master bedroom smells, we ended up pulling the mattress into the lounge room and sleeping in there instead. 4. The mattresses are old and tired, these should be replaced. 5. The house is very dusty, seems like at has not been vacuumed properly. 6. The house, appliances and décor could use some TLC. This is not my first stay at the bunyas, last time we stayed at Fantail Cottage and it was much nicer, very clean and looked after. Staying at Rosella retreat was disappointing compared to our last visit. For the price paid, I would look elsewhere.

It was a beautiful stay. my two little boys had a blast looking at all the animals and to relax. The only down fall we really had were the beds as they were a bit uncomfortable.

We had a wonderful weekend. The Rosella Retreat was exactly what we were hoping for, walking distance to The Bunyas and Poppies on the Hill Cafe as well as the walks and bird feeding. The property is a warm, has plenty of space for our family lovely views out the window of the Bunya Mountain Horse Drawn Tours on the weekend. Thanks, we will be back!

The Bunya Mountains are a magical place, with exceptional views and atmosphere, what we enjoyed the most was our dinner at the Taveren and the Horse Ride we done with Allan, that was spectacular.

Lovely little cottage for a weekend getaway.. fireplace was awesome as it was a very cold weekend .

Really nice chalet enjoyed everything about it (the fire place and lounge area, the kitchen, the bathroom, the upstairs queen bedroom, the little bedroom balcony and the entire look of the place from out front). Plenty of bird life in the yard and nearby, wallabies and even a dingo /wild dog passed by. I would certainly stay at Rosella Retreat again if it is available.

We loved revisiting the Bunya Mountains. It was great to get away from it all. The staff were very prompt in their service.

Staying at Rosella Retreat for two nights mid-week in May was an enjoyable treat. It's beautiful, very comfortable and well equipped as well as having books and DVDs available. The log fire added to the cosy atmosphere.

Rosella Retreat is a very cosy and beautifully appointed Chalet close to everything in the Bunya Mountains park. We had a memorable experience by the fireplace. Lots of friendly Rosella’s too add to the amazing experience and charm of the property.
Natalie Pascoe
This is a beautiful and cosy cottage. We loved that it was so close to the walks and main area of Bunyas. Loved the DVD selection. It was nice to just choose a movie to watch by the fire. It was also lovely to sit out front with a hot cuppa and watch the beautiful birdlife flit by. Just perfect.
Chris Hankin
The 2 night stay was very relaxing. Booking was easy & staff very pleasant. The Rosella Retreat had all our needs covered. Thank you
Alana Yarrow
Cute little cabin, lovely weekend and quite a show from the birds!

Once again our annual girls trip to the Bunya's did not disappoint. We did notice the absence of wallabies and presume it's because the dingos are the reason as we noticed a couple of them. First time staying at Rosella Retreat and can't fault it. Was good to have blue metal driveway and carport as it was wet and storms while we were there.

Rosella Retreat has been our favourite place to stay at Bunya mountains over many years. It is always well maintained, clean and tidy with every item you need. Nice and cosy for relaxing by the fire. Easy walk to national park, restaurant, tavern and Cafe. Visited November and pleasant surprise to find it had a makeover with new kitchen , furnishings and appliances. Recommended for couples

"Rosella Retreat" is an absolute treat! We loved the house and everything included. Bunya Mountains Village and its surrounds are unmistakably beautiful and our 5-night stay was great. The chalet was just right for us. It was immaculately clean, well-equipped, comfortable, cosy and homely. We were very happy with our choice and commend the owners for their thoughtfulness in the way the home was so beautifully presented. Rosella Retreat has a special 'feel' about it which we loved. Thank you! We hope to make a return visit "down the track." This little holiday was a true blessing.
Nicky Giesen
We very much enjoyed this neat little cottage. It is very close to the village, so no need to get the car out for anything. The house was very clean and had been aired before our arrival. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances and utensils, and there is a huge selection of movie dvds. The only downside was the lack of ceiling fans and my son found it a bit hot sleeping in the upstairs bedroom. Fortunately there was a stand fan in one of the cupboards. The people at the accommodation centre were lovely to deal with and the whole process of booking and staying was very easy. We loved our mini-vacay and will be going back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely location, quiet and peaceful. It was very easy to find the house. The house was well maintained, clean and tidy. Comfortable bed, no ceiling fans or air con, but especially downstairs was quite cool even in the middle of summer and there was a pedestal fan located in the wardrobe if needed. Kitchen pretty well stocked with utensils, appliances etc. There is a great space on back patio for BBQ, relaxing and enjoying the birds, loved the outdoor table, good size. House sleeps up to 6, some may find the loungeroom a bit tight for 6 people, but in winter it would be very cosy! Loved stargazing from the little balconies off top floor bedrooms. Would definitely come again!

First time we have stayed here and it was fantastic. Peaceful, comfortable and just right for our family of 4. Loved the Mini soccer table- many hours of family tournaments over the weekend! Wonderful wildlife with the Rosellas and King Parrots waiting for us every afternoon. Lots of Wallabies sleeping on the lawns and Cockatoos coming for an evening visit. Only a short stroll to the Cafes. Will be back very soon! Throughly recommend.
Richard Graf
Great cottage lacking nothing that would allow for a wonderful stay in a beautiful area.
Helen O’Gorman
It was a lovely, relaxing, cosy cottage to get back to nature in. The feathered visitors every afternoon were a highlight. Very well kept accommodation with easy access to the walks, shops and markets on Sunday. Fantastic!
Vivianne Chen
Very tidy cosy house with a beautiful view

Rosella Retreat is the perfect place for a seriously relaxing stay in a gorgeous part of the world. The cottage has everything you need and is perfectly placed for easy access to all the walks. The yard is always filled with paddy melons and remember to bring plenty of wild bird seed as the visiting bird life is amazing! I highly recommend the bistro as well. Great food and well priced.

My husband and I stayed at Rosella Retreat from 17th Aug - 20th Aug departing on the 21st Aug. We were originally booked to depart on Thurs 20th Aug but we were having such a lovely time we extended our stay. It has been quite a while since either of us have visited The Bunyas and I had forgotten how lovely it is. The house is lovely - couldn't fault it. Loved having the fireplace and we had a fire every night - really warms the whole house if you leave all of the doors to the rooms open. We went on a different walk every day and loved the contrast from the rainforest walks to the western more open walks - all well signed and in very good condition. The flyer detailing the walks is extremely helpful assisting planning depending on how far you want to walk. Each day we had lunch and coffee at the cafe or at Poppies and it was always delicious. We can't wait to come back!!!

Lovely place and comfy home. All the friendly wildlife (wallabies and variety of birds) that come to the back yard each day make it really special for the kids. Amazing old forest to venture in during the day, before settling by the log fire in the evening. Don't forget to check out the night sky! (Mega stars)

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy cottage! A perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. We are already planning to return to rosella retreat. A home away from home.

We have been staying at the Bunya Mountains for over 20 years. We have camped at Dandabah, stayed at Munro Camp at Bernies, stayed at Rices Cabins and Rosella Retreat. The mountains have an ancient and calming presence that pervades the forest and land and sky and everywhere we have stayed. There is always the sound of birds, usually hidden but comforting and wallabies treating each property as just another dinner plate.
Jenny Mead
Great little cottage. Everything you need for a holiday. Great location. Everything in walking distance. Warm and cosy. 3 good sized bedrooms.
Janet Rowley
Well appointed clean 3 bedroom chalet, situated close to walking tracks. All basic necessities provided. Highly recommended

I and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our few days at the Bunya Mountains!! Beautiful weather and scenery and hope to visit again soon!!

Had an amazing birthday weekend in the Rosella Retreat. Beautiful and cozy cabin, not far from the main centre. The photos need updating as the decor has been updated now. Glad we were up the hill a bit as it was very quiet. Fed the birds from our balcony daily, and watched wallabies all around the cabin. The log fire topped of the weekend, so warm and mesmerizing! Will definitely recommend to friends and family, be back next Birthday!

Rosella Retreat has become a firm favourite with our family. Well maintained, friendly wildlife and super cosy.
Katrina Chapman
wonderfully appointed chalet. Warm cosy feel but still plenty of room. The only comment I would make was that maybe have a sign letting guests know where to access firewood as it is kept in the locked shed away from the house and arriving at night, we couldn't find any wood until phoning reception. Great location.
Christine Morris
It was a great little house enough for us 4 women not to be crowded. Loved the fire and the animals. A couple of things would have made it better...there was no dustpan and brush and we wanted to leave the place cleaner and there was no vacuum cleaner. Otherwise it was divine, thank you for everything.
