Taronga - what a wonderful quiet location right at the end of the road. Zero road or people noise for 3 days. Did need the AC which worked fine during some hot days, but it's a great sized 2 bedroom house....very spacious dining and lounge areas separated by a two way fire place, we are going to come and stay again in winter. Kitchen well stocked, full laundry with dryer and large bathroom. Not as much wildlife as other places we've stayed, but it may have been because it was very hot. Would we stay again - absolutely 💯

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet, the views from the veranda. The beds where comfortable and the shower, although in the bath was fine. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, plates, pans etc. the BBQ was fine.

One surprise was that we actually had 2 bars Telstra reception, which we hadn't necessarily expected! We loved the morning sun through the front and the late afternoon sun on one side. Combined with doing walks 3 1/2 - 4 hours per day our stay in the Bunyas was really perfect in every way.

Peaceful and quiet - so if you are looking for some solitude - this is a perfect place to stay. The Bunya Mountains are magnificent and great for the soul. The walks are lovely, well maintained and sign posted. Poppies Cafe and the Bunya Store and Bistro are great if you want to eat out. Definitely worth visiting again.

Four of us stayed at the Taronga house recently. It was a beautiful house with plenty of room and amazing views. A lovely big fireplace in the middle of the living area kept us nice and warm. Located towards the end of the road, it was very secluded.and quiet. Thoroughly recommend it if you are staying up at the beautiful Bunya Mountains.

Great private position with framed view of valley. Clean and well appointed with very comfortable queen bed in main bedroom. Electric blankets welcome and we used the fire as it was cold outside. Wood was split which I was grateful for, and generously stacked at doorstep and inside on our arrival. A three point turn was needed to get up the driveway again as I have a big vehicle, and a flight of steps to the front door from ground level might be tricky for older person. Otherwise a wonderful house for a private retreat.

What an absolutely beautiful property. Located in a private spot with stunning views. Loved the high ceilings and floor to ceiling glass windows and doors. Early morn and late afternoon visits from the wallabies and King parrots. Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of firewood and everything you need. Comfy beds and sofas. Lovely family trip to the Bunya’s staying at house Taronga. The bush walking was lovely as was bird and wallaby watching. We took our own bird seed with & the crimson Rosella’s & Red Robins came Right on our balcony. We also walked through the estate & visited Poppie’s cafe & the Bunya’s Bistro which was lovely. We also drove to Kingaroy to the Observatory to watch a night time star, moon & Galaxy show which was cold but awesome.

The house had everything we needed and more. The wood fire was an essential treat. The television options were a bit restrictive, due to reception, but I don't think they can do much about it and not the reason for visiting Bunya Mountains!. Didn't have Wi-fi, but you could use your data. So all up, it was a great break in a beautiful environment! Relished the peace and quiet.

Taronga was a great place to stay. Floor to ceiling glass meant we had a wonderful view out over the mountains, and at night we could see the lights in the distance. Taronga is set in a quiet area and we were appreciative of the birdlife and animals that visited us. Lots of blankets and pillows were a thoughtful aspect, as was the really large fireplace (which we needed as it was very cold!) Was a great stay and I'd certainly recommend Taronga to all of my friends.

Hubby and I wanted to get away from the noise of everyday life and wow did this place deliver. We were surprised at how quiet the property was even though there were people in houses near by. Taronga is the perfect house if you want to relax and just take in the sounds of nature. The house was an older house but just gorgeous with it's high ceilings and beautiful vista overlooking the valley. We will DEFINITELY be back to this house.

My wife and stayed at the beautiful Taronga cabin. We loved the natural smell of timber in the cabin and enjoyed the log fire each night. So cozy and quiet. I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for peace and quiet. Our time there was exceptional and will book it next time we need a break.

Beautiful property, very private as it's situated behind a hill. Clean and well stocked with all we could need. View from the balcony and main bedroom was amazing. We especially enjoyed the wide windows spanning the width of the cabin that allowed us to take in the views from anywhere in the living areas and kitchen. Only minor issue was the tv remote being stubborn but we still managed.

We loved everything about the Bunya Mountains - the cooler air, beautiful scenery, lovely walks, the wildlife and the peace and quiet. All that plus a wonderful mountain holiday home. First time staying at Bunya and we picked (in our opinion) the best accommodation on offer - Taronga. It’s at the end of the estate so very private. It’s got lovely views, is spacious and fully equipped for a great holiday. Wallabies & bird life visit the house everyday - just a perfect place to be. The accommodation was excellent value and the booking office is extremely helpful, thank you Michelle for all your extra help and friendly service. We hope to come back very soon - I would like to experience the mountains in every season. One of our most memorable holidays.

Wow! What a house and what a view! Everything was so beautifully clean and welcoming, we just want to say many thanks to the owners and to the accommodation service for giving us a great little break from work. We had a fire each night, we watched the wildlife, we watched DVD movies, we slept in comfy beds we cooked in a brilliantly stocked kitchen, and showered in a lovely open bathroom. How lucky were we to find Taronga! We will be back!

We come here every year in winter to enjoy the cold in beautiful houses with lovely warm wood fire heaters. We love this Bunya forest unique in the world with its dominate canopy of huge Bunya Pines and the variety of walks which cover the different sections of other ecosystems and views. One of my very favourite places on the planet. Taronga is a lovely house, very clean and well presented with a brilliant 2 door fireplace and great views to the east and extensive sclerophyll and rainforests. Unfortunately there are very few actual Bunya pines within this view but a short walk resolves that. Great for sun and moon rises.

Nicely designed for an open plan which lends it to a good feel, but is showing its age. We have stayed in several house there since 1996, so we have experienced much better stays at the Bunyas before. Won't stay here again for the following reasons: The driveway was the biggest problem as we couldn't turn the car around and had to back out, overgrown tree foliage on the northern side scratched the car while reversing. Windows need a thorough clean, dusty and spider webs. Some fly screens are long overdue for replacement. Spider webs were clinging to walls in the lounge and master, i cleaned these away. Light in the oven not working Pillows were poor quality, well worn, we didn't use them. Trees in the garden are growing into the views, and need trimming. If planning a reno, consider replacing the single/bath shower with a separate shower. The huge laundry wastes a lot of space which could be used for improving the bathroom with a separate shower. The placement of the water tank in front of the rear deck ruins the northern views, the sunshade blinds on the rear deck need replacing, have vegetation growing in them. A snake skin lodged in the rain water gutter on the eastern end of the lounge needs removal as it may concern some guests.
