Very nice and tidy house, every amenity catered for and very relaxing.

Whispering Pines is a lovely cottage with a new large deck. It was well positioned close to the cafes etc and surrounded by a large lawn and some bush. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils and implements. Comfy couch and great fireplace- perfect for winter with plenty of firewood. We didn’t watch much tv but if you were keen the main tv is small and didn’t have any streaming services. There was a large tv in the main bedroom. Beds were comfy and all was neatly presented. We would definitely stay again.

The house was comfortable, the deck was relaxing and the view was glorious. My kids loved playing on the expansive land around the house.

It's a cosy little cottage with everything needed, save a heater in the bathroom. Be aware that the toilet and shower are in the same room. The big, new deck is a great addition, The bed in the main bedroom is really comfortable.

We loved our stay in Whispering Pines and can’t wait to return! The new deck is the perfect space for everyone to relax together. Our kids loved spotting many wallabies and different birds in the garden and even discovered a satin bowerbird’s bower! Very comfortable beds and everything you need.

I went to Whispering Pines with friends for the weekend. Bunya Mountains is a glorious place. We did a few hikes, enjoyed the fire, the wildlife and the experience as a whole. I would recommend going. And so close to Brisbane!

Nice place, very popular with the local wildlife. Great new deck.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Bunya Mountains. The birds and wildlife were amazing and our accommodation was perfect, especially the beautiful verandah and deck.
Don Medland
A property that suits me fine. The added deck makes the stay there a lot more enjoyable. Looking forward to our next stay there at end of February 2022

Perfection! This is the perfect house for a couple or small family. House has everything you would need. (Just no bbq). The new deck is fabulous. Great place to sit and watch the world go by. We met the owner and he is now doing a renovation on the house. So very excited to visit again. We have stayed in a number of houses previously, but this will be our 1st choice from now on.

Another lovely stay at a favourite location. The new deck at Whispering Pines is sensational. Wonderful addition to the little cottage. We will return.

This is the 1st time we have stayed at Whispering Pines, after 32 years of coming to the Bunyas. This house is in the ideal location, very private, away from the other properties. The new addition to the front of the house is great, has really made this house. We’ll be back.

Bunya Mountains is superb. Living in the clouds for a few days and going for walks in the ancient rainforest was magical. We were cosy and warm in our accommodation and found the quiet and wildlife very restorative.
Joanne Elks

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend! Crisp cool mountain air and warm fires at night while surrounded by wildlife and the most incredible night sky. We stayed in Whispering Pines which was just lovely and met our needs perfectly. Can’t wait to return again soon!

Great first time experience at Bunya Mts. Walks are well maintained with amazing scenery. Our house was perfect for our group. Just enjoyed the wildlife and all those cute wallabies everywhere. Great location and will definitely being coming back. Next time will book at the tavern in advance.

Great location as house was closed and within walking distance to town.
Terese Keene
The cottage was very cosy, warm, and comfortable, with an easy walking distance to cafes and walking tracks. It is so lovely to enjoy the fresh air and the birds and wallabies roaming in your backyard.
Peter Reilly
The property was excellent ,fulfilling all our expectations. Everything neat and tidy, very comfortable bed and lovely warm doonah. Fire was great.
Vera Elvery
We had a wonderful time at Whispering Pines. The house was very well equipped and big enough for 5 adults. Quiet location and comfortable beds. Lots of wildlife. We even saw fireflies in the garden!

Fantastic stay

as always we enjoyed staying at Whispering Pines where we stayed previously. You should have a talk to the cleaners about the cutlery drawers and a few other aereas which were not up to standard. The addition of the beautiful deck is a plus. this is not your concern but if you could pass onto the authorities our disappointment at the lack of wallabies and the fact that the birds being fed inside the cafe does not bring as many around. On speaking with a resident we were told that the introduction of more dingo has scared the wallabies, in fact we had a dingo roaming around Whispering Pines.
Raye Lack
Enjoyed our stay. Loved the area and great patio, bed very comfy. No curtains or blinds in living area so doesn't have that cosy feel.
keith Hall
Absolutely brilliant place to stay. I loved the ambience, especially the bird life which visited the stunning rear deck. I don't mind at all that the kitchen and bathroom fittings are dated. It felt and worked well as a holiday home. Firewood was too chunky and the stuff under the house was beyond cutting with the block splitter. Luckily I took my own axe and plenty of fire starters. More effort needs to be made to make the firewood easier to use as the cottage doesn't have air conditioning. So, apart from the firewood, everything else was perfect! Hopefully I will see you again (more than once!) when the weather cools again. Cheers, Keith

Great quiet spot and walking distance to the shops. Also, the birds are very friendly, and we've enjoyed our daily walks around the area and the National Park. Great place to unwind.
Maree Kelly
Thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Bunya Mountains. Whispering Pines is a lovely home, fully equipped with everything we needed. Beautiful deck to relax on and enjoy the birds and wildlife and surrounding forest.
Agnes Fenech
We really loved the house with his big deck, enjoying our breakfast and dinner on the terrace. The house was a perfect size for the 5 of us. The kitchen was well equipped but be aware that there is no dishwasher. One less pleasant thing was a hole in the fly screen in our bedroom so some midge were getting in. There is plenty books, games and dvd to entertain you.
Narelle Hynard
We stayed here with our daughter and young grandchildren and had a lovely time. Easy walk to town, the kids loved the visits from the birds and wallabies. Enjoyed the board games supplied, we spent a lot of time out on the large side deck play with these. Would come back.
Joel M
We enjoyed Whispering Pines which had nice character. The kids loved running around the expansive open lawns and the wildlife that was all around us. The large deck is great place to sit and enjoy nature whilst the fireplace was a nice spot to enjoy a bottle of wine. Be aware that the property has no driveway to the garage under the house so vehicles with low clearance or non 4x4s may have some troubles accessing after it's been raining. Second the comment about the place needing a small vacuum.
Lana Priebbenow
Kitchen was well stocked and verandah well set up. Furniture and bedding comfortable. Bathroom well presented and refreshed. Skirting boards need a good clean for presentation. Suggestions: some fan heaters as the fireplace heat did not transfer to bedroom. Main bedroom had an electric blanket but other beds did not but that's ok as not used just noted and hoped with more guests there would be electric blankets for all beds. Nicely revamped cottage and outside presentation very good..
JULIE Trott
'Whispering Pines' is a very nice cottage to stay in and everything you need is there but the basic floor cleaning of the cottage could be improved. The instructions for the wood burner definitely should be updated.
Andrew Dawson
Lovely cottage with an expansive new deck and a beautiful outlook. We loved watching the birds from the deck, and many came to the deck to visit us. The wood fire was kept burning with plenty of wood made available under the cottage. Practical kitchen and furniture. Loved our stay here.
Terri Ward
It was our first time so we really didn't know what to expect. Being in the gated area was good. It was very quiet and peaceful and dark. Coming from a very noisy neighbourhood not to mention a busy intersection with cattle trucks going passed at all hours of the night and early morning, hoons and barking dogs, it was quite the contrast. Probably would like to go back at a different time of year next time and see more animals. We had birds pay us a visit on the verandah and that was special. A shame no bird feeding allowed but could understand that they would make a mess. The food at Poppy's was amazing. We may have bought souvenirs had they not all been associated with the 'tavern'. It would have been nice if they had had just been from the 'Bunya Mounains ' in general.
Warren Somerfield
Beautiful place to stay, great veranda to relax on
Cate Simpson
A beautifully appointed home - clean and comfortable, and the huge new deck is a wonderful asset. Loved watching the birds!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at whispering pines 16-19 sept. The house is really comfortable as it is.

We absolutely loved Whispering Pines as a place to stay. The location is wonderful - walking distance to the village and National Park walks, fantastic wildlife and beautiful Bunya trees to marvel at in the yard. It's a simple, basic and comfortable cottage - the fire place meant we were toasty warm and cosy the entire stay (and plenty of firewood provided). The queen bed was extremely comfortable (we didn't use the other bedrooms) and the outlook from both decks is pretty great. From the back deck, you can hear some chatter if people are on the deck of the neighbouring house, but the large trees meant it was still very private. It does appear to be an older place (things are a bit worn, screens don't quite seal, kitchen is a bit dated). If trendy and new is your thing, this may not be the place for you, but it's excellent value for money in our view. Staff at the accommodation centre are friendly, available, and really efficient (easiest payment, check-in and check-out process ever).

Beautiful spot we had awesome time

We had a wonderful stay at Whispering Pines. House was warm, beds were comfy and cosy. Sitting watching the fireplace while reading a book, it doesn’t get much better than that!
Margaret Gaske
The area is s just lovely and our children loved the wildlife, the yard around the home provided lots of area to safely run and play. The house provided us a warm exploration base but was quite basic with what was provided. Having no dryer for a family accommodation in an area that gets a lot of rain and fog made it difficult getting clothes dry. A suggestion would be to at least provide a large drying rack to use near the fire. A small vacuum cleaner would be handy too.
Kelsey Peel
Absolutely loved it!!

We love staying at Whispering Pines! This was our second visit. Both times we enjoyed watching all the birdlife on the back deck. It’s such a relaxing place!
Serena and Tony Peut
We had a most wonderful, relaxing, oh so quiet time at Bunya Mountains. We took advantage of the numerous walking trails and lookouts etc. Despite the dryness everything was indeed spectacular and far exceeded our expectation. We will be back for sure but in the cooler months. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

We loved our stay at Whispering Pines. The Bunya Mountains are absolutely beautiful. This cottage suited us perfectly and we were able to see the forest from the back veranda and were surrounded by wallabies and parrots. We were even able to explore the forest behind us without driving to find bushwalks. Nice and convenient if you don't fee like driving. We'll definately be back!
Carmel Cox
We had a wonderful stay in the Bunya Mountains at the Whispering Pines cottage. The cottage was so lovely and quaint with everything we needed. The back deck was private and so good to sit out and relax on, or feed the parrots. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this beautiful little home. We will be back again.

Country charm cottage. Beautiful place. Wildlife & nature is so special.

Whispering Pines is an ideal contemporary 3 Bedroom Cottage that is ideal for a quiet getaway.
Jim Kearney
This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the Bunya Mountains. Again our stay was a very positive experience. The weekend we stayed was very relaxing with the wildlife happily coming to our back verandah. Wallabies grazing on the abundant grass and birds more than happy to eat the wild birdseed we had brought along. We also enjoyed the rainforest walks. Be aware of following clothing guidelines to prevent tic infestation.
Brendan Greaney
This is our second stay at Whispering Pines and we've loved it both times. Such a cosy little cottage that's big enough and small enough for our family of two adults and two kids. A short walk to the village but you sitting on the back verandah, it felt like we were a million miles away. Feeding the birds and the wallabies besides Poppy's Cafe was a real highlight!
