Romantic Hideaway is a home away from home. Our guests included two adults and two young infants, aged three and under, and it was perfect. The house was cosy and well equipped with everything you need. Fireplace was fabulous! The small outdoor deck along with the outside grassed area is just perfect for you and your children to play around on. Would definitely recommend staying at Romantic Hideaway.

Was our second stay at Romantic Hideaway..we absolutely love the house and the privacy in the rainforest, where on the first day we had all the rainforest birds , best house if your keen birdwatchers like us. We were to stay two weeks but sadly had to leave 2 days early as my mum got sick and we took her home to hospital. She's doing ok now and we will definitely come back to this awesome house. This little cottage really is a “romantic blissful hideaway!” The cottage was tastefully furnished, lovely comfortable lounge, nice fully equipped kitchen and beautiful claw foot bath! We enjoyed being hidden away in our own space having a drink and sitting around the lovely fireplace. We had a great time exploring the area. There are so many wonderful tracks we want to come back to explore some more. A magical, peaceful and beautiful place!

Great lounge chairs - very comfortable. We arrived in the afternoon and wanted to start the fire straight away as it was very cold in the house - but alas - no matches, no kindling and no wood. If a fireplace is there - I would think these would be standard. A load of wood arrived just on dark - but we still had gone and purchased by then.

My husband and I just spent two nights at Romantic Hideaway 28/30th December, 2021. It was very clean and inviting and so quite. We thoroughly enjoyed the rest after a hectic lead up to Christmas. Weekend was a waste of time and money due to the weather. The house was not particularly well kept, (front verandah needed work, rear porch, ceiling cobwebs, BBQ cover breaking up), and certainly not value for money. Both sealed and dirt one lane roads makes driving interesting. Even with good weather, I imagine staying two nights would be the maximum stay

Our third trip to the Bunya mountains and our first stay at the "Romantic Hideaway" cottage. We previously stayed at Whitewood cottage next door and Waldeslust and I would stay again at both of those. The Bunya mountains are stunning, we love the walks, scenery and wildlife and will always come back. This time I was a bit disappointed with our accommodation. While there weren't any big issues, it was the small things that make me not wanting to stay there again. There was a DVD player, but no dvd's. No plug in the bath. No gas for the BBQ. The bathroom was in the main bedroom (not an issue) but the toilet didn't have a sink for hand washing which was very annoying. Also some very dirty corners on the bathroom. The kitchen had only bare minimus. Four plates, three teaspoons, four mugs not even matching etc ... The frying pan was old, small, scratched and rusty. The outdoor area is taken over by weeds, the concrete outside is very dirty and extremely slippery when wet. The bed had very noticeable 'dents' so you would roll into the middle of the bed ad stay there all night. The lights inside and outside are very bright, fluoro type. Not at all romantic... Would not stay at this particular house again.

This is a truly beautiful house & we loved that it was secluded. The outdoor fireplace was fantastic (& ample wood to burn) & the verandah very large. Decor throughout the house was beautiful with all the creature comforts of home. Visits from native wildlife such as King Parrots, possums & scrub turkeys was gorgeous! Great base for our time at the Bunyas & all the amazing walking tracks.

Wonderful stay in a tidy, secluded cottage in a quiet part of the Bunyas, just outside of the township. Really appreciated the luxury bathroom, and the well equipped kitchen space for cooking. fyi you need to bring any and all pantry items with you.

Unfortunately the pressure system here is quite small and very noisy so each and every time a tap is switched on the loud sound is disturbing. On a personal note I would prefer a bit more light and sun into the house, it's quite dark and close due to the closeness of foliage.

We liked watching the stars and using the outdoor fire pit. Next time we will stay in a house close to the cafe area, because Romantic Hideaway was too tucked away for our liking and access was via a dirt road. The cabin was fine but not insulated so we had to keep the heating on a fair bit. The bathroom was spacious but would have been better with a wall dividing it from the bedroom. We liked the area, the birds, the cafe and the bush walks.

The cabin was exactly as the pictures showed & was very clean! It was the perfect size for the 2 of us & the fireplace was amazing - it was even put on for our arrival, which was lovely in the cold wet weather! Would definitely recommend staying here. Customer service was great too. A couple of downfalls were - it advertised a bbq but there was no gas in the bottle, so we weren't able to use it. We did also see a previous review saying the same thing. Also, the mattress in the main bedroom needs updating.

We stayed in Romantic Hideaway for our 45th Anniversary. We spent 7 nights there. We very much loved this home. It was spotless clean inside and outside. Very private and quiet. Lots of different birds coming during day , we also saw few wallabies feeding on grass. We love cooking and we found everything which is necessary to prepare food. Big king size bed was very comfortable to sleep and beautiful bathtub with view to rainforest - very romantic. We enjoyed many walks in Bunya Mountains, unfortunately not all of them are open due to storm damage, so it is good idea to check it before planning walk. There are few videos, books and games for those rainy days , which we found handy as TV reception is out during rain. Romantic Hideaway is beautiful place to stay, we definitely will come back to this beautiful home.

Such a lovely getaway to the Bunyas at the Romantic Hideaway. We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 kids and enjoyed the beautiful fireplace each night, lovely soaks in the bath after our long walks. Nice and private outlook, perfect location to zip up to the lookout for sunsets with a drink, and everything you could need for a wonderful relaxing getaway.

Romantic Hideaway is outside of the main area and tucked in to rainforest at the end of a cul-de-sac. It is more remote, which we loved. There were a variety of birds that pecked in the garden around the house. It is a nice flat property with a grassy area for kiddies to play. The house and fixtures are all top quality. For us the atmosphere of the house was very sterile with high white walls and no decoration eg pictures. There is minimal furniture eg no coffee table, no wardrobes. The kitchen was stocked with basic crockery, cutlery with basic pots and pans. There were no microwave dishes supplied and a few minor items were either missing or broken. There was no heat protection gloves supplied for the wood heater. As there are no ventilation fans in the bathroom/bedroom area and kitchen the rooms filled with steam. There was good TV reception to all stations but WiFi was sporadic. This house would be suitable for a short stay but not fully equipped to cater for longer stay.

Both my husband and I highly recommend the "Romantic Getaway" cottage. We liked it best because it was so far away from all the other accommodation. This won't suit everyone of course, but it suited us perfectly as we had a lovely break, joining up with friends for dinner but able to be completely separate and do our own thing as well. The cottage is very comfortable and immediately felt like home - like I said - we love it.

A thoroughly relaxing couple of days in clean, modern and well-appointed accommodations. We enjoyed the seclusion and the interesting range of wildlife from birds, to possums, wallabies, fireflies at sunset, and the dingo that wandered past! The king bed was comfortable and the recliners made watching the supplied DVDs relaxing. We must come back in winter to stoke up the fireplace and outside fire pit. Highly recommended for couples that seek peace and quiet, away from the main estates.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay Immensely. Sparkling clean & plenty of room to move around & relax both inside & out. (loved the full length deck & magic fireplace) Very comfortable bed, lounges & outdoor table stetting. Extremely quiet & private allowing to get back to nature with the visiting local wild life. Everything was at hand which made cooking a breeze. Good size fridge (kept the beer & wine nice & cold) giving plenty of room. Great having the wine cooler & tray for the claw bath to relax & unwind in. Loved the walks and coffee at Poppies. Will definitely return.

Beautiful rainforest with lots of birds. There is more rainforest on the eastern tracks, the western tracks are more open forest but with similar views from the various lookouts except for the short walk to the summit of Mt Kiangarow. We did this track just before sunset and it was spectacular. With the grass trees in the foreground giving a fantastic foreground photo. I have never seen so many ancient grass trees, many over 5M tall. There is limited groceries available and options for dinner are limited so best to take some food and definitely book restaurant before going.

A fantastic place for a four night get-a-way. The house had everything you needed, was immaculate presentation and super comfortable bed. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon watching the bird life pass through was fabulous. Very private setting but handy to everything, some great walking trails.

Modern, well equipped unit. Peaceful setting. Very comfortable. Plenty of firewood. I would suggest that the owners put in a simple gravel/crushed concrete path so that you don't walk thru mud and it would keep the dirt out of the house.

Romantic Hideaway was just lovely. The wood fire was magic and we had miles of wood. Beds were comfy, and bedrooms cozy - especially the main, with that divine claw foot bath!! Very well supplied kitchen too. More DVD's than could ever be watched - very cozy lounge. Loved the hands and footprints in the cement outside. Can you tell we loved it?

Or stay at the Romantic Hideaway was absolutely perfect! This tiny cottage was nestled amongst the forest with complete privacy in the sound of whipping birds singing all day long. it is modern and clean and warm and cosy and everything we needed for a short escape from the day to day grind. It would be perfect for a couple staying but was also perfect for a family of four, with room for the kids and plenty of space for them to run around outside and bush walks nearby to burn off some energy. Thank you for a wonderful stay and thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful little cottage.

Secluded location, well-appointed, easy to use, had all we needed. The DVD collection was very welcome, the bed was comfortable. BBQ set up was great. Appreciated the photo album showing the building of the cabin. Would have preferred a small sink in the toilet; only hand basin is in main bedroom; and dimmable lights would have been nice. Flags blocking off the entry combined with nearby stack of logs were a bit of a nuisance and made night returns tricky. Pavers or a sealed path from where we parked to the ramp would have been more comfortable and meant fewer muddy footprints. Otherwise, we felt we had the best cabin of all those we saw. The seclusion was wonderful. 4.5 stars

We celebrated my Mum's 82nd b'day at the Bunyas. As she has difficulty in walking, we needed accommodation which was accessible with a wheelie walker. I appreciated the efforts of the team at Bunya Mts to accommodate this requirement and found Romantic Hideaway provided the perfect solution. We have stayed at the Bunyas on a number of occasions but this was the first time with my Mum. RH was perfect - well built, ramp access, beautiful fitout inside and just so relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the accommodation was perfect. Thank you.

House was absolutely gorgeous, yard needed work Extremely disappointed there was no gas to cook on the BBQ at 7pm, drive to reception to call after hours to have no answer.
