We loved the position and ambience of Wren Cottage. It was absolutley wonderful to sit on the back deck and watch the wildlife. The cottage is older and require some TLC, but still a lovely place to stay. Beds were comfortable.

My wife and I had a wonderful 3 days staying in Wren Cottage. Enjoying a lovely warming fire each night with plenty of firewood supplied. The sight of dozens of wallabies and their joeys lazing all around the area was a joy. Each day we would feed the beautiful wild birds that came to visit us. All round a great break that we would highly recommend.

It was loverly to have the wallabies and birds come around morning and night. We both thought the red cedar timber windows, doors & the verandah which surrounded the entire house were badly neglected and did not reflect the true nature of the website of the property. Serious maintenance needs to be carried out to keep the woodwork from deteriorating further. The heater in the bedroom cupboard would barely warm a flea and needs replacing & only one bar would work. The vacuum cleaner was absolutely chock-a block full of dirt so had minimal suction. It had a cloth bag (non replaceable) and I was unable to empty out past tenants dirt & dust to use it effectively. There was no hairdryer which was very disappointing especially in cold weather and with wet hair to dry. I understand the age of the property, however to enlarge/replace the shower and replace the cracked tiles would upgrade the property and make it more desirable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and there was plenty of firewood to keep us warm.

without hesitation, my wife & i thoroughly were captivated by the ambiance around Wren cottage itself, the broader estate, and of course the pristine Bunya Mountains - wonderful week's walking, and a pleasing ongoing series of bird sightings, ... staying at the Bunya's is sincerely recommended,

Wren Cottage was a cosy and comfortable stay for our family of four. The fire place warms the cottage beautifully. It has a lovely, private and leafy back yard out look.

This house was perfectly situated in a beautiful part of the Bunya Titles estate. Large green backyard with towering Bunya Pines and wallabies relaxing below, beautiful array of birds coming to visit. The house needs a good thorough cleaning inside, but is comfortable and homely.

I really enjoyed the Bunya Mountains. The whole area at Dandabah was well set out and the area where we stayed was really quiet and peaceful with the houses well spread out. It was amazing to see the wallabies and birds come so close to the house. If you enjoy walking in quiet places this is a great place to come

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay at Wren Cottage and will be back again. Our only comment is it would be good to have some cutting knives, if they are there, we could not find them.

A lovely spot enjoyed the birds who landed on the verandah also the wallabies in the grounds. The rainforest around was magnificant. The bed was comfortable and furnishings were great.

Once again our 4-night stay at The Bunyas was so relaxing, rejuvenating and energising just before CHRISTmas.. with the added attraction of the pop-up CHRISTmas Markets on Sunday 19 December. Our welcome visitors were the wallabies and lots of different birds.. but our UNwelcome visitors were the midges and "mozzies" after the rain!! First-world problems!! Thanks again Bunyas!! 😉

The contactless check in & check out was easy & well explained. The cottage was well equipped & very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Well situated in a private setting with beautiful views of some wonderful bunya specimens. The key pickup/drop off is very quick and painless. The cottage had all the amenities we needed and I was surprised to see all the little extras you normally forget that you will need. A few things however, made our stay a bit troublesome. The carpets inside the house really need to be changed out. The house (especially the bedrooms) smelt strongly of mould. Which my wife is allergic and she suffered badly while inside the the house. Final issue we had was the lack of suitable parking for a standard car. The morning dew/rain made the grass very slippery and since the house is recessed, we had a bit of an issue getting our car out. Other than a couple of issues, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Cant wait to come back!

We enjoyed our stay at Wren Cottage. It was very comfortable and quaint. We loved sitting on the verandah having breakfast and watching the wildlife (the wallaby and her joey in the pouch were a highlight). There are many amazing walks to do nearby. We recommend them all. Koondaii Lookout walk was best for the sunset. Mount Kiangarow was our favourite lookout. Little Falls was our favourite waterfall. Personally, we thought that the detour out to Barker Creek Lookout was a waste as there are better views elsewhere along the track. We also enjoyed the Bunya Nut scones and Bunya Nut Banana Bread, with our coffee, at Poppy's cafe on the hill.

This was a lovely cottage to stay in and suited our needs, despite the weather

As always, we enjoyed our stay. We liken it to a visit to the Lost World with the birdlife and the wallabies at our doorstep. It was very wet during our stay with rain and mist only adding to the surroundings. We will be back.
Leeann Evans
Private and convenient. Quaint old world charm with wrap around verandahs to enjoy they wildlife. No access close to the house by conventional car.
Peter Grogan
Very pretty cottage. A few problems with maintenance, mould on the ceiling in the lounge area, electric blanket not functional on one side of the main bedroom bed. Lovely kitchen.
Christine Eves
Absolutely beautiful little cottage. Wish we could of stayed longer!
Julie Williams
Lovely property, beautiful setting. Disappointed there was no BBQ, and wish there was another electric heater. The fire was beautiful but not worth lighting in the morning when we were getting ready to go out, but were freezing 😏 Not complaining, just suggesting. Would recommend. ♡
Lynette Brown
We really enjoyed our stay at Wren Cottage. It was a really beautiful location, and a very comfortable house. We would definitely book Wren Cottage again.
Jo Cowell
We found the house very cold but it soon warmed up once we got the fire going. It would have been good if we could have had instructions on how to keep the fire going overnight. As we are both in our late 70s we found the fetching of wood quite difficult. However, the bird life was wonderful and the house lived up to its name! We loved the great food at Poppies and the coffee was excellent. We are telling all our friends about our great experience in the Bunya Mountains. Perhaps you could let the owners know that we thought a new cistern on the toilet would save water, so the many notes around the house wouldn't be necessary. Thanks for an excellent stay.
Marc de Bruin
Loved this little cottage; awesome location and "feel", and great for bird watching. Peaceful and quiet; don't expect any or much phone reception, though. You're in a "dip", and that's noticeable. But why would you want to be on your phone anyway ;-) We'll be back; heck, we do every year, it seems. Cheers, Marc

Cozy, relaxing cottage with plenty of firewood. Great restaurant with good food a good service, reasonably priced considering it is the only restaurant on the mountain. Good walks for all levels of fitness and ages.

cottage in a perfect spot. So peaceful. The Bunya Pines gladdened the heart. Accommodation Staff pleasant and helpful. This was our fifth visit to the Bunyas, and we will return later in the year.

Wren cottage is perfect for your visit to Bunya Mountains. Has everything you need. Comfortable. Beautiful deck and aspect. Very convenient to the main walks. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Timber chalet but amenities were lacking. Nice wood burner fireplace but no curtains and gaps in doors so heat went straight out the windows. No extra blankets provided for Master bedroom. BM staff not interested in our concerns

A cosy cottage with a lovely outlook of the bush on the back veranda. There were only the 2 of us so we found the space ample and we had a relaxing time. Great fire place and couch to laze in and read a book in the evenings. We had a lovely time, it's always great to be in the Bunyas :)

A great house, cozy with a mountain feel, it is our 3rd time staying at Wren cottage. Although it is in need of TLC. generally dirty and tired, no bin liner, broken can opener, no T pot or coffee pot no ability to make either. Dead bugs on the floors built up grim, dirty windows and screens cobwebs etc . Disappointing. I doubt too that reception actually give feedback for rectification to the owners. Maybe if owners actually stayed in their houses, it would change or maybe they do not care?
Randy Kutcher
Had a nice relaxing time in Wren cottage. Weather was not the best, but cottage was very comfortable. Would really appreciate paying in cash rather than have to await the bill at the end of the month on credit.
Debra Liriges
The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Greg and Lyn McKeon
Booking in was a very easy process. Nice quaint cottage. Set in a quiet area with tree coverage. In easy walking distance to main visitors' area etc. Downfall was no curtains in the main living area - lounge, dining and kitchen - this limited our privacy in this part of the cottage. People driving/walking past could easily see inside, especially at night when lights were turned on.
Wendy Stanton
Lovely cosy atmosphere at cottage however all upstairs is boarded off which makes it feel a bit eerie. Beautiful trees surrounding the cottage attracts the wonderful wildlife. Warm cosy firebox.

Quaint little cottage. Just be mindful there are no window covers so it gets very cold inside … bring extra layers :)

Lovely cosy cottage, a perfect size for a couple or small family. We enjoyed the warm timber and decor, relaxing with the wood fire, despite having rain and fog all weekend.

Location was private with plenty of birds. Driveway was a bit steep. Beds were comfortable. Lovely fireplace. Could do with a bit more kitchen equipment. All in all a very pleasant stay.

A wonderful, comfortable cottage in quiet surrounds - enjoyed 6 leisurely days that went by far too quickly! We will be back 😊

Great apartment for 3 couples. Particularly the three ensuite bathrooms. Very clean very tidy. We tried to use the telescope but had no luck. We packed all the kitchen items which we were told to bring then found the same items at the apartment. ....a little frustrating but not a big issue. Happy to recommend this property.

Our stay at Wren Cottage was a very relaxing time. We were there from 4/1/21 to 12/1/21. The cottage is perfect for a couple as it isn’t to large to take care of. The Bunyan’s is a place we love to visit when able

Everything we hoped for and more. It was cosy and private. Plenty of visiting wallabies and bird life. Was easy walking distance to the cafes and walking tracks. Everything was perfect. We hope to be back and will be trying to get the Wren Cottage again.

Firstly, apologies for the delay in replying. We had a wonderful short break away at Jenny Wren cottage. It was was a beautiful property, well equipped & a wonderful wildlife experience. The only negatives were as follows: Musty smell in the main bedroom downstairs Mould on the bathroom ceiling Dishwasher wasn't working properly-probably because it needed rinse aide Cupboards in the kitchen stunk-cupboards & dishes required cleaning Electric blanket in the main bedroom needed replacing-exposed wires near the switch The hot water temperature was dangerously hot. For the above reasons we probably wouldn't stay at Jenny Wren again. Instead we would look for a newer better maintained cottage.
David Brice

Our cottage was everything we could have imagined - quiet, private, well kept and very comfortable with lovely big balconies to enjoy all the wildlife - and there was a lot! The cottage was far enough away from the village for that country feel but close enough to be able to walk for a coffee or dinner.
Nicola Johnston
This cottage was a comfortable, well presented cosy home with character. It suited our family perfectly and we would stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay at Wren Cottage. Very cosy. The wildlife was amazing. My little girl loved feeding the birds and the wallabies. The hiking was wonderful... so peaceful- very hard to come back to reality

Absolutely perfect place for a weekend getaway! Great location with just a short walk to the cafes yet secluded enough to feel like you’re getting a break from reality. Will definitely be back next year !

Top marks for the fireplace and abundance of wood, followed by the comfy lounge to gaze out the window at the majestic trees and best of all... ALL the bedrooms had their own ensuite!

Bunya was beautiful but felt quite Let down and disappointed with cleanliness of Wren cottage It was very dusty and had lots of ants in the kitchen, the broom handle would not stay on the broom so could not sweep the floors with ease. Felt very let down and disappointed as I was told that all rental accommodation was being sanitised between rentals. Lost electricity on Saturday evening at 5.45 pm had to wait two and a half hours for the staff to call back to tell me it was a energy fault and a crew were being sent out from Dalby, when I expressed my concerns on Sunday morning about the delay on returning my calls to advise what was happening I was told that the lady in the office had gone shopping after work and that she had called me as soon as she got back to the office around 8.30pm. I was informed “That I was lucky that another house had called the energy company” these comments made me feel like my comment about the Time it took someone to get back to me to advise what was happening was just swept as aside and left us feeling like we were a major inconvenience. How dare we be unhappy with the fact that we had no power were unable to Heat our dinner Have a coffee and had no idea when the power would come back on or even if it would come back on.
Patricia Bartlett
We stayed this weekend and were very disappointed. Wren Cottage needed a good clean. you could write your name in the dust on the furniture, My understanding was that every rental was being sanitised between rentals due to the Covid 19. The kitchen cupboard under the sink is about to fall off and the kitchen was overrun with ants, there was bad mould on the ceiling above the TV. The broom handle would not stay on the broom, The toilet seat is loose and about to fall off. On Saturday night about 5.45 I had just put dinner on to cook and we lost power, checked fuse box all good with the fuse box , tried to call the emergency number several times, also sent a SMS message. Finally got a call from the staff at 8.30 pm to say a energy crew were being sent out from Dalby. This morning when I mentioned my concerns at the office about it taking over 2 hours before some one called us back to let us know what was happening, the lady became quite defence, told me that she had gone shopping after work and that the other lady was in the office and as soon as she got back to the office she phoned me to tell me that the crews were coming out from Dalby. Then she went onto say that I was lucky that the people in Serenity had called The energy company. I did ask that my comment were passed on to the owners but after the reaction from the office staff I decided that I needed to leave a review . I would visit Bunya mountain again but would not stay in Wren Cottage.

Beautiful setting and wonderful house, only down side is it doesn’t have curtains in main living area so felt quite exposed in the evenings with people and cars going past.

Had a wonderful time and Wren Cottage was just perfect for our group of 5. Some tuition with the star gazing would have been a help, but never mind. Wonderful firewood too! Will have to return when the circut track has been renovated.

Accomodation was clean and comfortable, and setting very peaceful. Picture quality on TV could have been better but overall a lovely retreat

Great location, overlooking bunyas and flame trees, offset from the road and with lots of wildlife visiting. Will be rebooking this place again.

Wren Cottage is a cute little place that needs work to be competitive with the other places of similar price that we've stayed at in the Bunyas. First impressions were a bit dismal. The front yard was overgrown with large vines hanging down and partially covering what we eventually discovered was the property access. There is no established driveway, which confused us at first and we had to drive by twice to determine where to enter the property. Since one must drive uphill across the lawn to get to the road, we are concerned 2WD vehicles might get stuck in the wet. The initial presentation of the house was somewhat unkept, giving an impression that the house had not been used for a long time. The carpets are dirty-looking, and the lounge carpet has several burnt spots including one that burned through to the flooring. There are no fans or air-conditioning, making the place too hot on summer afternoons. The French doors and single-hung windows are drafty, which could be uncomfortable in winter. Some have no screens. The lounge furniture is set up so that only one person can watch TV. We did not see a smoke alarm and hope we simply missed spotting it. We did like the forested location where we saw many different birds. There is a good selection of kitchen items and utensils. The bathroom is a decent size with a shower. When the weather is fine and it's not too hot or cold Wren Cottage would be somewhat doable, provided there are smoke alarms on the ground floor.

I enjoyed our stay at Wren Cottage. It was clean an comfortable and we appreciated the fact that it has been recently painted outside. However, for the $ being charged, the interior and general supplies are looking very tired. The seating in the living room was only just adequate with only one arm chair (broken arm) and a sofa. No kitchen supplies of any kind. A few tea bags, some glad wrap etc would have been welcome. The carpet in the living area badly needs replacing. All the furniture is looking pretty tired. It was nice that our hosts offered us a discount for our stay, however. We gladly spent those $ at the coffee shops.

Loved our 3 night stay. So much wildlife on the doorstep. King Parrots, Satin Bowerbirds, Rosellas, Currawongs, Wallabies & the ubiquitous Brush Turkeys.

Wren cottage was perfect for our family mini getaway. I have been coming to the Bunya mountains now for over 20 years and this cottage is a gem. For our family with two kids it was perfect. We had wallabies at the bottom of the steps that greeted us each morning and the rainforest created a backdrop full of melodies and calls from the local bird life. We were able to hand feed the birds with the seed that the local store provide at a small cost and bring back to the cottage. We observed satin bower birds, catbirds, parrots and rosellas. The house is right in the middle of the bunya title estate, however the rainforest surrounds it and gives the cottage a sense of privacy. We enjoyed sharing in laughter with board games near the log fire or snuggle up under the blanket on the sofa and watch the wildlife. We will definitely be back to spend another family holiday at Wren cottage.

Songbird is not on your Select a Property list. We stayed at Songbird last weekend and really enjoyed the house. We loved being beside the bush and feeding the birds on the deck, particularly the cockatoos that we haven’t had up at Bunya before. We would like to make a suggestion for the owners. It would be nice to have a couple of comfortable chairs on the deck as sitting on benches at our age is not as much fun as it used to be. Over the years we’ve stayed in approximately 17 different houses and Songbird is one of the best. Cheryl Garmany

We had a lovely time. The weather was beautiful, the rainforest walk was lovely and the outlook stunning with birds constantly visiting and wallabies all around us.

Wren cottage is a nice little cottage. The kitchen only fits one person in at a time so ideal for just a couple. Nice big bathroom. The beds are very hard though and the bedrooms have a mold smell to them

Very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed a relaxing stay. Birdlife amazing.

Beautiful Bunya Mountains, so many wallabies and birds, a warm fireplace inside with cosy couches - what's not to like? The house is starting to look a bit run down on the outside, but inside is well-maintained and the kitchen well-stocked with crockery & cooking items.

Had a relaxing time in Wren Cottage. The house was well appointed and quite welcoming and private. Would recommend.

The Blue Wren Cottage was idea for ourselves and the two other couples. The three bedrooms each with ensuite were large and well appointed. There was a lot of room in the main living area and the fireplace was great. It was a nice walk to the restaurant and Poppies. I would recommend to any group of people who want a nice weekend in the Bunyas.

Nice place. Fireplace was great. However, would be so much better if place was restocked with decent kitchenware for cooking.

This is a great property. Well equipped and clean.

Excellent place. Tucked away in the Bush. Perfect for two.

Cottage was well presented and a good size for a family of four. A few small issues that would make the experience even better include the upholstering one of the lounge recliners (the one with worn leather pieces falling off), a new CD player (the current one does not work) and a few books/magazines (adult novels of various genre and children books). On the maintenance front, the toilet cistern leaked and there was no axe (just a splitter) which made cutting the firewood into smaller prices difficult.

Lovely outlook and surroundings. Wren Cottage looking a bit rundown in need of a paint job, new carpets, bathroom and furniture.

I enjoyed my stay at Wren Cottage mostly due to the comfortable furniture and lovely outlook from the verandahs. However, I was most uncomfortable with the lack of curtains in the lounge/dining/kitchen because at night anyone passing by outside could see inside. The curtains and blinds in the bedrooms were ineffective due to the gaps either side of the blinds and the unlined curtains were see-through when the lights were on. I felt that the cottage looked unloved due to the need for a thorough spring-clean inside and out as there were a lot of cobwebs and dust. I will visit the Bunyas again, but next time will book a cottage that is more private.
