Early November but nice and cool at the Bunyas without having to light a fire. Cloudlands, as always, is an excellent place to stay with its three bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, and outside seating on either side of the house enabling those staying to make the most of both the morning and evening sunlight. It's also located in one of the best cul-de-sacs on the mountain.

We loved our stay at Cloudlands. The house provided everything we needed and more. So many thoughtful touches that made us feel very welcome. There was plenty of firewood, and lots of rugs and blankets to ensure we kept warm during our stay on the mountain. The property is nicely secluded and provided shelter for the many birds that visited us during our stay. We would certainly like to stay here again. Check in was easy and the ladies in the office very welcoming and informative. We had lunch at the pub which was delicious. Again the staff here were very friendly.

This home was beautifully spacious. The verandahs front and back provided a sunny spot to sit and relax and any spot could be found in the gardens for a shaded or sunny sit. The kitchen was stocked with a variety of cooking equipment and there were tables to sit and share meals and conversation. We were all very comfortable in this lovely home

The layout of the house is very practical, numerous exits allow access to the backyard and side porch. Unfortunately the heating system is not sufficient to warm up the house. Not all bedrooms have heaters, only in 2 of the 3 bedrooms, which are too small to warm up the room. Similarly, the heating blankets are of odd sizes, the master bedroom has a miniature heating blanket only warming the centre of the bed, leaving a large parameter cold. The lack of a dishwasher is an inconvenience, the glasses and plates were dirty when we arrived, so I had to wash everything before we used them. Unhygienic option especially during a pandemic. Nature made up for it though, but we won't be staying at Cloudlands in future.

We had such a great time staying at Bunya mountains in the middle of June. The accommodation was perfect for 3 couples. Cosy log fire and plenty of room. We were close enough to be able to walk to the cafe and restaurant which was only 5 minutes away and even enjoyed a leisurely walk on one of the forest walk after breakfast. Absolutely recommend to anyone to visit especially in winter.

Bunya Mountains is a nice escape from the city. Four of us enjoyed a relaxing time staying at Cloudlands. Our friends had never been to the Bunyas before and it was a pleasant surprise for them. Cloudlands is a cute house set in a cul de sac and very private location. It had all the amenities we needed and the bedrooms were at each end of the building which gave us privacy. We enjoyed the birds and wild life around the property. It was also great to be able to go on the walking tracks. All in all we had a wonderful weekend.

Our 3 nights were not nearly enough, a month would have been better. The wildlife and the fauna was a treat. I’ve been to the Bunyas many times, but only stayed when I was working. Anyone wanting peace and quiet for a few days should spend time on the mountains.

This was the email that my husband Howard wrote to you a few days ago. I'm pasting it here for your information. For the past 30 years or more we have been regular users of the great variety of accommodations that the Bunya Mountains offer. We always enjoy our stays at the Bunya Mountains and the last three days we have just spent at Cloudlands was no exception. It was nice and spacious - just what we wanted However, it was quite dark inside - quite different from the photos on the website where each room is very brightly lit. We were quite disappointed with this as we like our accommodations to be light and bright and we felt the promotional photos misrepresented the true situation. The inside of the house was well maintained with a good stock of videos and books for the visitor A minor point - the feel of the place could easily have been improved if the choice of light bulbs had been more consistent - either all cold or all warm light bulbs. This was particularly noticeable in the bedroom where one bedside lamp was cold and the other was warm but it also applied elsewhere in the house. Just sloppy housekeeping. The greatest disappointment were the balconies/verandahs. These were obviously not included in the cleaners’ schedule as the balustrades were very dirty and worst of all the view from the balcony to the rather nice garden was almost completely blocked by overgrown bushes some 4-5 metres high. Again this was completely different from the promotional photos on the website where there is an uninterrupted view of the garden from the balcony and vice versa. As we spent more time on the front balcony than anywhere else, this was rather unfortunate. The back balcony was in poor condition and with such an unattractive outlook that we didn’t use it. I would like to re-iterate that we still enjoyed our stay despite the disappointments and we will certainly continue to come to Bunya. It’s just that our most recent stay could have been that much better. 😪😪😪

We have been staying at Cloudlands for family holidays for 20 years and always find it clean and comfortable. We really appreciated having a shower in the ensuite bathroom and the update to an automatic washing machine (though we didn’t need to use it this trip). The birds and wallabies in the very private front yard are great and our personal favourite was the male Satin Bowerbird that visited us each afternoon.

Cloudlands is a spacious home conveniently located in the Bunya Mountains. It is ideal for families or groups. The kitchen is well-stocked with tools for cooking up a feast. The sharpened knives were a welcome feature. The fireplace adequately warms the large living area, which is well-catered for in terms of games, movies etc in case of wet weather. We were fortunate to have sunshine for the days we were there, which enabled us to enjoy the easily accessed walking trails.

We spent much of our time on the verandas watching the wallabies in the yard, or waiting for king parrots, rosellas or sulphur crested cockatoos to land on the balustrade. Great location for food, walks and a peaceful retreat.

The Bunyas is a place we keep coming back to. Both my wife and I knew the Bunyas from our Childhood and we have come now as a family regularly during the past 20 years. Cloudlands was a very well appointed house and I appreciated the little extras, such as tea and coffee in the pantry, books, DVDs & games, quality furniture and appliances. Peaceful setting. As always, the birds and wallabies are a highlight. First time we have had really friendly Bower Birds - kept our blue lids for them and they grabbed them with glee. Little wrens coming close to the house was special too. My daughter even saw a Paradise Riflebird close to the house. The little Christmas decorations were a nice touch, too. Would definitely recommend Cloudlands to anyone.

Cloudlands is a large house in a lovely garden setting and generally quite comfortable with a lot going for it but for anyone looking for a cosy property for a winter's weekend getaway this is not it. The house is quite wide but the wood fire is set towards one end in the lounge room and the heat barely reached the dining area let alone the bedrooms at the far end of the house. The information lists electric blankets as included (which is true in that there was more than one) but the single beds didn't have them. The two bedrooms at one end of the house had undersized column heaters provided which, in the case of the double room I was in, had no hope of adequately heating the room against the draft coming in around the poorly sealed external doors. The bathroom had no heating (other than the hair drier propped up on the sink) but at least you knew what the outside temperature was like before you left the house. So saying we did enjoy our weekend away.

I spent 5 nights with my two sisters and 90 year old mum. We loved Cloudlands. The decks were sunny and low enough to see the wallabies with their joeys in the garden close up. It is set back from the road with lovely gardens and is private and quiet. There were lots of birds too. Plenty of firewood for the log fire, comfortable beds and spacious. Stocked with a great library and games as well. The bedrooms and bathrooms were cold though and no electric blankets on the single beds. Some small portable fan heaters would make this house more comfortable. Overall we were very happy with what Cloudlands had to offer.

Always a nice time away in the mountains. We stayed in Cloudlands which was a nice cottage with plenty of room and was well equipped. Unfortunately some of the walking trails in the mountains were closed for maintenance which was a bit strange for a school holiday/ peak period. The rangers may be a little over stretched as some of the trails we did walk were a bit run down and overgrown with weeds in sections. Favorite walk was the paradise section.

Cloudlands is a very well equipped property and obviously loved and cared for by the owners. Standard of cleanliness is excellent. Trees and shrubs enclosing the yard make it very private, though it might feel a bit too enclosed for anyone who likes to have an outlook. Sadly, it is the driest I've ever seen the rain forest and creeks in many years of visiting the mountains - I'm sure everyone is hoping for a return to normal weather conditions in 2020.

As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bunya Mountains. We loved Cloudlands in particular the garden which we spent much time in. Suggest that the house would be easier to keep cool in summer if some retractable blinds were installed on eastern and western sides to shade these verandahs, the house was quite warm during most of the day. As mentioned by the staff the ensuite shower does need to be addressed but we made it work. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. A highlight of our long weekend at the Bunyas was Sheridan's yoga class. I have been practicing yoga for 4 years and have tried many classes in my travels, this class was up there with the best. A good pace, very well structured (I loved the postures Sheridan chose and the order in which we worked through them), and it was magical to practice under the trees with that amazing view. Please pass on my thanks and well-wishes to Sheridan and I look forward to when I can come back and do another class with her one day. Finally a shoutout to Lauren and the bookings team, every interaction is friendly, kind and humorous, making the whole experience a pleasure from the time we make the first enquiry to the time when we sadly have to hand over the keys and come back home. You guys rock :)
