We love it here! A great little house, plenty of room for everyone. Comfy beds, great shower, and a lovely little spot to sit out under the veranda to relax, and watch the wildlife.

Superb views of the Bunya national Park and easy stroll to many walks. Spacious comfortable house with plenty of covered patio areas. We loved the log fire.

Affordable, cosy, comfortable and in an amazing location. Only a short walk away from the cafes and walking tracks and plenty of wildlife around. The electric blankets and the upstairs balcony are fantastic features of this beautiful little wooden home in the mountains. Not to mention I was incredibly impressed by the shower pressure being better than my one at home! There is a BBQ on the back undercover patio, outside shed filled with fire wood (they have even gone to the effort of pre chopping some wood in a large chest near the fire place), washing machine, dryer, oven and microwave. Perfect for a weekend get away.

Had a lovely couple of days. The Hutch was pretty much as advertised, and per the photos. The fireplace was very much appreciated and well used (those cold westerlies ensured plenty of time was spent inside around the fire). Was a practical and mostly comfortable cabin overall, but there were a couple of things that were disappointing. The first one - no matches were supplied. Providing a lovely fireplace without matches is like providing an air-conditioner with no electricity. We always have matches in the car, except of course on this occasion someone has used them and not bothered to return them. A trip to humbly meet the neighbours when we'd arrived after dark, to borrow their box of matches fixed that problem. There was plenty of firewood, and fire starters, but no matches. The other disappointing item was the queen bed downstairs - we have never slept on such an uncomfortable bed. And that was after we'd pulled the mattress off and put all the slats back on the bed that were on the floor UNDER the bed when we arrived. How the bedroom was cleaned before our arrival leaves us a little curious, but I guess if you don't vacuum under the bed, then you'd never know that there were a number of slats on the floor. Even with the slats duly replaced on the bed, they were toothpick thin and bowed which, combined with a mattress that you could feel every single spring in, made for a very uncomfortable night. The queen bed upstairs felt much the same except the slats were in much better shape, but with a husband that snores, and there being no ceiling as such upstairs, we opted to stay downstairs so that at least the kids still got some sleep. (Think of a freight train rattling through a tunnel and that's what it would have sounded like if we'd slept upstairs with the kids lol). So we put the mattress on the floor the second night, but it was only a very marginal improvement. A pleasant surprise was the quantity of crockery and cutlery, cooking items and utensils which was greatly appreciated. Having 2 toilets was also a bonus with a largish family. Everything you needed (except matches) was easy to find and in good working order (including the smoke alarms which don't seem to like bacon & eggs of a morning). There was a good looking BBQ there, but it was too cold and blowy to cook outside this time. Plenty of blankets provided in blanket boxes and cupboards was appreciated. The room upstairs was a haven of an afternoon with the sun streaming in through the glass - a lovely reprieve from the blowy westerlies outside. Overall, not a bad old place, and we had a lovely couple of days.

Loved the stay, however was a little bit disappointing as there was a water leak, which caused the recycle tank to consistently make a noise throughout the nigh - we had to turn off when going to bed which caused inconvenience toilet runs and required water during the night. We would have also liked to do a bit of a vacuum before leaving however we never had one to do this.

Bunyas lovely as always, cabin was nice and clean... easy access to everywhere and everything...

We had a great time at the Bunya Mountains and we'd be happy to come back again.

Hutch was a short walk to the shops and start of the walks so the kids could be independent and go for a wander. Well stocked wood pile and nice timber upstairs area with plenty of beds.

Thoroughly enjoyed our family stay at Bunya Mountains. What a beautiful area and the kids loved the wildlife.. Will have to return again after we have had decent rains as the bush was so dry.

The Bunya Mountains is a beautiful area with a number of walks and lookouts. Lots of wallabies and other wildlife to check out. Great for a fun weekend with a group of friends! We stayed at the Hutch, cute little cottage that hosts up to 8 people and has a central fireplace that warms the whole house quite nicely. Recommended!

The Bunyas is a lovely place for a weekend stay which is what we did last weekend. The Hutch is in a handy position and worked well for two couples. (Also room for kids to stay if you have them.) The house is comfortable but in need of a bit of a spruce up. Some lamps in the lounge room would be nice as the fluro lights are very harsh and not so good for a relaxing evening by the fire.
Elinore Stott
We always leave the Bunya Mountains feeling happy and relaxed and this trip was no different. On the drive down the mountain, we always try to figure out, when we come again. Everybody is always so welcoming! We enjoyed the coziness of The Hutch’s lounge room, how we could all sit together around the fire. It was perfect for our little family.

I absolutely love the Bunya Mountains. Bring so close to wildlife and enjoying the slower pace is the way to go. It is my second stay at the Hutch. I love the quirky atmosphere of the house.

Our stay was very pleasant. The staff were kind. Our only issue was a mice infestation in the roof cavity in the top floor bedroom, where the roof meets the floor.
