About this property

Mountain Escape is beautifully positioned with spectacular views through the South Burnett valley.
This exquisite little cottage is well appointed with quality furnishings to enhance your stay and will leave you wanting to return often.
Laze in the warmth of the sunroom on cool winter days or relax by the soft glow of a cosy log fire.
The cottage is comfortable in all seasons with reverse cycle air conditioning, ceiling fans in bedrooms and plenty of board games and movies to keep you entertained on misty days.
Relax on the generous deck while enjoying the company of our friendly wildlife.
- 1 Q & 2 S Linen provided. This will need to be collected from and returned to our office.
- Please confirm which linen you require for your stay prior to your arrival.
- Minimum Stays:
- 2 nights minimum
- 3 nights on Long Weekends from Friday- Monday
- 4 nights Easter and Christmas (no arrivals or departures Christmas day, Boxing day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday or Easter Sunday)
- 3 nights minimum during June/July School Holidays

Mountain Escape was the perfect base for five days (70km) of trail walking and exploring. It was well equipped, comfortable and perfectly positioned. We had stunning weather and a perfect few days in Bunya Mountains. Lots of wildlife, lots of beautiful picnic spots, many short walks and some longer hikes - something for everyone. We had been advised to take plenty of food & drink and were pleased we had. It’s great to support their local shop, cafe and bistro but they can be closed for private functions ( a wedding while we were there) and choices are understandably limited for anyone on a special diet. A fabulous week! We will definitely return.

The house is very well equipped, and has gorgeous northern views from the sunroom. It’s just a short walk around the corner to the cafe and tavern. We fed plenty of wildlife at our back door. I look forward to coming back and staying at Mountain Escape again, hopefully soon.

What a fantastic view to wake up to everyday! The local walks are superb. The house is perched on top of the mountain for a birds eye view of the world. Even if it's raining there is plenty to do with numerous games, dvds and books to keep you busy. The fire heater was wonderful and is a great feature of this little beautiful home away from home. Had a magnificent time feeding the locals, the birds are just amazing! Loved every minute of it.

Mountain Escape was immaculately clean, full size kitchen, 2 bedrooms, sleep 4. Loved the enclosed back sunroom to soak in the view, and the front verandah with bbq and outdoor eating. TV, fireplace as well as reverse aircon made our stay so comfortable. Enjoyed our little wobbly visitors as well as the feathered ones.

Lovely spot, so peaceful with everything you need. Especially loved the front verandah where we could relax and watch the Paddemelons eat on the lawn. Definitely would stay here again, great for kids as has lots of board games and a foseball table.

Lovely little cabin in a perfect location. No gate to unlock every time you drive anywhere was a huge bonus compared to our friends in other houses in the orange and green zones. The views are beautiful, wallaby’s grazing all around you. It’s around 1.5km down to the cafe and an uphill walk gets the heart pumping (we drove most days😁). Telstra connection was fine in the property, not so good in other parts of the area. The only negative was the opening of the doors was so difficult we initially thought we had the wrong keys. Gave up trying to lock the outer door and the main inside door needed a shoulder charge to open every time.

We were very happy with our stay at Mountain Escape in the Bunya Mountains. It is a comfortable property with fireplace & enclosed sundeck where we could watch the wallabies and birdlife. We celebrated a birthday at the tavern and enjoyed a day walking around the national park. We both commented how relaxed we felt after our week-end away. Next time we hope to stay longer. The home was in a nice setting with easy access to the cafes and walks. The spaces were comfortable and fairly spacious with an outdoor verandah and the front had views down to the plains. The indoor verandah was a nice place to sit in the evening or early morning. The kitchen was really well supplied with everything you needed. The walks were wonderful and the home was situated between the mountain walks and the lookout. The comfort pack was worth it to have the beds made etc and the staff encounters were really positive. We enjoyed the bathroom heater on the foggy cold mornings. In general we really enjoyed the area and the house.

Beautiful area to just escape to do leisurely walks & relax, plenty of friendly wildlife to hand feed, we will definitely be back to enjoy the relaxation of the mountains. A bunya nut burger is a must to have at Poppy's or the local Tavern with the best chips my wife and I have ever had.

The little house was just the right size for our family of four. It was comfortable and warm and had everything we needed. The soccer table was a hit with the family and we enjoyed the view from out the back. The patio/carport was enjoyable for a BBQ lunch and provide great shelter to unpack/pack the car during the rain. You are only a short drive or casual walk to the tavern/cafe and working tracks. I would recommend this house for a small family or couple looking to get away.

Because the weather was really warm, we found that the main bedroom was exceptionally hot and because the reverse cycle air conditioning is in the lounge it took a very long time to cool the house. My son and I had three lovely days staying at Mountain Escape. The house was exactly as described and we took everything else we needed for our stay. We came to bush walk and see the magnificent Bunya pines. We walked every track that was open and saw many birds and some wildlife. A wonderful place to escape our busy lives and relax.

House was perfect! Our family of 2 adults and 2 small children was just enough for this cottage. Everything we needed, comfortable, cosy (it rained the whole weekend!), we loved the wood fire and kids loved the bath, fooseball table & riding bikes outside. Out of all the cabins, we believe ours had the best view!! We would choose this cabin again and look forward to taking extended family with us next time we go. Highly recommend!

My partner and I stayed 3nights from 19th to 22nd October 2020; we may have stayed longer, except for the fact that my Partner was diagnosed with a reoccurrence of breast cancer and was admitter to hospital for treatment the following week. Our stay was short with weather fine on arrival and final day cloudy and wet. It was a beautiful house, well equipped with a marvellous view. there were ample videos, books and games. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to follow our path and enjoy a restful "sojourn among he Bunyas."

Mountain Escape is a lovely welcoming cabin with a great outlook and lots of friendly wallabies to keep you company. The house has been thoughtfully and thoroughly renovated and has everything you need. Sunlight streams in the windows keeping it nice and warm and there is aircon or the fireplace if needed. Very comfortable cabin in a beautiful setting with views to the valley below. Wallabies, King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas were always around to keep us company. Cool nights so we used the fireplace. The enclosed verandah was great for breakfast in the sun before we set off bushwalking.

The kids love the soccer table, DVD and games libraries. So much thought has gone into making the cabin suitable for all tastes, which is much appreciated by the guests who stay there. We also enjoy the horse wagon rides, various walking trails, the bird feeding at the Bunya store and the coffee at Elz! Our country home away from home.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain View. It is well maintained, quiet and comfortable. One problem, easily fixed, is some sort of blockage in the bath, which prevents the shower water from getting away quickly. Also, we had some trouble with working the microwave and the TV, probably because we are not used to such an advanced piece of technology.

Mt Escape-We could not fault the property. It was just perfect for our requirements. It was well appointed, very comfortable and in an elevated position with views. It was also very quiet and relaxing. We will be coming back!
