We over the years have stayed in many houses in the beautiful Bunyas, this the 1st time at unit 7, Firefly. This a well presented house, with everything you need & more in this house. It was clean, comfortable & plenty of room. We are already talking about returning to this house, we would recommend unit 7 to anyone who wants an enjoyable & relaxing few days in the Bunya Moutains.

We only had 2 nights at Firefly 7 and it certainly wasn’t enough! The house was so well equipped and comfortable, I could happily have stayed a lot longer and had more time to enjoy relaxing on the deck ,watching the wallabies, listening to the birds and generally ‘chilling out’. The log fire, wonderful spa bath and electric blankets on the beds all added to the cosy luxurious homely feel. We went for beautiful walks, some with breathtaking views and just soaked up the tranquil atmosphere of the area. We’re already planning our next visit and couldn’t wish for a better place to stay than Firefly 7.

Good property with plenty of amenities. We had a very enjoyable stay. It was our first trip to the Bunya Mountains and we will definitely go there again but will stay in a property nearer the town as it was a steep hill for us to walk back up to the house. We enjoyed the multitude of birds each day that came onto the veranda and they fed on wild bird seed mix from our hands.

What a fantastic location and perfect spot to stay for a weekend away! The Firefly was a great 2 bedroom townhouse with everything you need for a cosy weekend in the mountains. Short walk to the hiking tracks, and tavern & cafe spots. The balcony and living room had a lovely view over a grassy hill with a bunch of wildlife.

We had a very enjoyable three days in unit 7. It is a well appointed spacious unit which comfortably slept four adults. We enjoyed the fire each night. There was heaps of fire wood available. Loved watching the wallabies and the king parrots which were eating out of our hands. The bush walks were also worth going on. We would also like to compliment the stayy at the coffee shop and the restaurant.

Firefly was very clean and tidy, well equipped with appliances, etc. BBQ and fireplace worked a treat, easy to use. The BBQ verandah was great in the morning sun, with good views all day.

We had a very good and memorable stay and recommend Bunya Mountains to those who are looking for a unique holiday experience at the heart of natural beauties of QLD. The house was handed over to us in a tidy condition and all the essential amenities were available on premises. It was also great that one of the cafes were open until 8 p.m. as guests could get some meals and drinks at night, if needed. The gift shop had some souvenirs with Bunya Mountains name on them, which makes the gifts more special. The grocery shop had all the required products for a comfortable stay, in case you forget to bring some essentials. The nearby walking tracks are also highly recommended.

We had a great weekend stay in this house. It was well equiped and the fireplace made for a cosy stay on a cold weekend. It was very child friendly too - the fence around the fireplace was securely fixed to the wall and the balcony was totally enclosed with a pool style fence gate which was reassuring as we have a 2 yr old. The only disappointing thing was the cleaning was not up to scratch when we arrived. The upstairs carpet had not been vaccummed (there were visible dirty particles and random things like bottle top lids and a peg sitting just under the beds) and the bathtub had not been cleaned (there were hairs and dirty particles) which we had to clean before use.

We have stayed at four different units over the last 18months and this one is in the worst condition it needs some real attention crack in upstairs shower and ceiling damage down stairs curtains were mouldy we would. Not book this unit again

What a wonderful place to stay! The kitchen had everything we needed and there was extra blankets that we wouldn't have predicted we would have needed in December. We loved the extra information printed in the display folder about the local birds and bunya nuts. Thank you for a memorable Christmas.

This is a lovely unit in a wonderful location which we have enjoyed on several occasions now. It is very well appointed and very comfortable. The fireplace was fantastic and warmed the whole house which was lovely to return to after doing some of the walks close by. We will certainly be staying here again in the future.

Loved it! First Time at Bunya Mountains. The unit was excellent. Loved that firewood is ready on the cold night of arrival. View from the balcony was good for amongst the other units as it was overlooking onto firefly estate. The spa bath worked great, as did everything for cooking etc. Loved that the fireplace was child proof as we had 2 little ones. Would highly recommend this unit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at 'Firefly.' We arrived around 8:30pm, first thing we did was walk out on the verandah and saw the full moon among the treetops - just glorious! A very comfortable unit, especially enjoyed the spa. Thank you, cannot wait to come stay again!

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay. The unit was very comfortable with one of its greatest assets being the north facing deck. Loved the walks. The pub needs a takeaway licence for alcohol after the store closes - but it is Australia!

Review of House Number 7 Firefly: The positives about House Number 7 Firefly are the barbecue and the nice view from the deck. However, beyond these aspects, the experience was disappointing. We opted for additional extras, including breakfast, linen, and towels, but the quality did not match the price we paid. The eggs and bacon were the only items that seemed remotely fresh; the juice and milk boxes were subpar. The linen and towels provided were old and thin. Moreover, there was a lack of firewood, and what little was available required chopping. When we requested assistance, we were merely directed to search under the house ourselves. The overall cleanliness of the property left much to be desired, with dirty baths, showers, and curtains. House Number 7 Firefly is in need of some serious attention to bring it up to modern standards. In hindsight, we wish we had known about the poor quality of the extras provided so that we could have brought our own. It was disappointing to pay for amenities that did not meet our expectations.

We had a great relaxed stay. Our walking, which was the purpose of our visit, was great. We were challenged at arrival as it was dark and the accommodation, no lighting, was difficult to find. We were lucky that there were two men delivering wood when we arrived as they showed us where the wood was stored and where #7 was. Our head torches proved extremely useful here. If not for the two men we would have been confused and very cold on our first night. Everything else was pretty solid.

The unit was clean and the owner has included a good selection of kitchen requirements, as well as tea towel, washing up liquid and dishcloth. Lovely outlook. The carpet appears near new. Very Firm mattress on queen bed. Springy mattresses on single beds.

We enjoyed our stay at Firefly on the weekend. we arrived om Friday 13 Dec and out Monday 16 Dec. I think this unit needs a little more cleaning- especially the window runners (full of insects). Maybe Fans added for the hotter months or even an air conditioner. Otherwise we had a lovely time but the weather could have been nicer but we can't do anything about that . We will visit again

Hi guys we had a lovely stay in Firefly. However on the second morning woke to no water! The tanks are getting low but there is still water there. My husband switched the pressure pump on and of and it started working again! So it may be on the way out? Apart from this all good.

The unit is conveniently located to Dandabah, Poppies on the Hill, the Tavern and the local bush walks as well as the Accommodation Centre which has a great system for key pick up and drop off. A fantastic location only a short walk to the Danabah shops and trailheads. Deck is private with a wonderful view of the wallabies grazing, lounge, dining and kitchen are spacious - ideal for a small family! Having separate ensuites is also fantastic and the kitchen has stacks of appliances, baking trays etc. so you only have to take food! Would definitely stay again!

The unit was lovely and had everything we needed. Being able to hand-feed the birds on the balcony was definitely a highlight of our stay.

We were very happy with Firefly. It is very pleasant, the carpet upstairs keep things warm and the beds were comfortable. Good choice of warm comforters and blankets when things cooled down. I have taken one star off my rating for two reasons. The first is that I was surprised that the pantry was completely bare. This is unusual after staying in many other homes at the Bunya Mountains. Other homes contain some extras which have been well thought out by their owners - basics like handwash, salt & pepper, olive oil, spare water in case of loss of power, tea/coffee etc. I know that this is not necessarily part of what is included but there are many houses that include those sorts of things now - the owners have obviously thought about what would keep people re-booking their properties. Just a small point - Firefly is very well priced - this may be why the owners choose the bare minimum. The other point is not the owner's fault in the slightest but a point that you might find helpful. While we could not hear conversation or the TV next door in Butterfly, we could hear a lot of movement. Guests running up and down stairs, slamming doors, scraping of chairs etc. This unfortunately woke me many times through both nights of our stay. They may have been particularly noisy guests - I have stayed in Firefly once before and we never heard the guests next door. Like I said, just a point to make in case a potential guest enquires about possible noise levels. Overall though it was a very nice stay (as usual).

Kitchen and spa were quite dirty. And it was not just a single mistake but the dirt was obviously from a long period of time. Also when we entered the unit there was quite strong unpleasant smell which luckily diminished over the visit.

Was fantastic.... unit was perfect, peaceful and homely.. everything we needed for a quiet few days... haven't been to the bunyas before, but my family and I loved it and really want to come back... enjoyed walking the trails, wandering around amongst the wildlife and enjoying the cafe and restaurant... My teenage girls loved the wallabies and how peaceful the whole area was... checking in and out was friendly and quick. A wonderful experience...can't wait to return..hopefully in the winter..., to experience a different season.. thank you for making it great..😀

Thank you for the clean and comfortable Unit for our stay over the Xmas Break. We held a family gathering and each had our own Unit, which was fantastic, we were close enough to be together but still had our own space. Could not fault the Unit - Excellent!
