Beautiful location and tidy & comfortable house - this was our second stay at the property. I love the sunny verandah and fireplace. Our kids loved feeding the birds in the front yard on the afternoons (and laughing at their Dad making some 'swings and misses' with the ol' log splitter 😅). The kitchen was very well equipped with near new cookware. There is also a modest BBQ out back that was fine for cooking a few sausages. I highly recommend for a relaxing family getaway.

This place was perfect! Very comfortable and the fire kept the whole place warm. Great space for the four of us. Beds were comfy and plenty of extra blankets if needed. The veranda was fully screened off to keep any bugs away which added a nice touch. We would definitely come here again.

The Bunya Mountains remain the site of unique escapes from the humdrum of lowland life. At 3500 feet above sea level, the air is clearer and cooler. Properties available for weekend getaways or weeks of relaxation are varied in many ways, but most have the magic of wood fired heaters and close proximity to the surrounding bunya forests, including great mobs of friendly wallabies and abundant bird life. Boobook is so well equipped that everything is at hand to make a stay comfortable and convenient.

My husband and I absolutely love going here and hate it when the time comes to leave.The peace and tranquility is wonderful and its like there's just you and the wildlife and the trees. A great place to visit in the colder months, as most, if not all, the cottages have open fires and you can just relax, read a book and do nothing. When people ask me what I'm going to do there, I tell them, "Relax and do nothing". The cottages are so well equipped, it is a delight to stay in them. We love to stay in Boobook, and look forward to going back each year.

Boobook is extremely well appointed, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back. It has a country cottage feel about it with the comfy furniture being complimented by the carefully chosen unique pieces and knickknacks placed about inside, in the screened verandah areas and here and there about the yard. It was a bitterly cold weekend but the wood fire heated the cottage comfortably all day and night. The wild life was abundant right outside the door and moved only a short distance away when we came and went throughout the weekend. The Bunya Mountains is a glorious place to visit, we can't wait to bring the rest of the family with us next time. The cafe, restaurant and giftshop were all worth a visit. Even if you don't venture off the beaten track remember to check yourself for ticks.

We Loved our stay in Boobook at Bunya Mountains. Surrounded by beautiful wallabies and incredible bird life. We didn’t need to leave the house to watch catbirds, satin bower birds, king parrots, wrens etc having a splash in the birdbath. We went for wonderful bush walks during the day and cosied up in our house by the wood heater at night. The house was very well appointed. Everything you could need. Booking and accom process easy. Stayed 2nd-6th Dec. 2021. Everything you could think of was supplied in the house and we enjoyed our stay. Would do it again in Boobook. Only thing we would like to mention was that the toilet seat was not fixed properly and kept coming off - no big deal but do not want to be blamed for it so mentioned it to the very helpful staff at the Accommodation Centre.

Boobook has fully screened verandahs which means you can sit outside in summer without getting bitten by mozzies and midges. They recently renewed the septic system and soak trench which is great. The Wallabies love this house, you'll have about 20 every night on the front lawn, and there's Rosellas and King Parrots who will visit the backyard and can be hand fed using wild bird seed. I personally found the pillows and mattrasse hard to sleep on, but that's a preference which is individual. The kitchen has everything you need. There's brand new sofa beds in the living room. They replaced the old set. I've stayed here twice, would probably stay again.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Bunya Mountains during Easter 2022. This was due largely to the fact that we stayed at a beautifully cosy, clean and comfortable cottage called Boobook. The attention to detail was amazing. Electric blankets, a log fire, books, games and DVD's were included. The kitchen utensils were plentiful and I loved the dainty cups and saucers! The front verandah was beautifully appointed and the perfect area to take in the spectacular views and enjoy sundowners or tea and coffee. The block is large and private and home to many welcome wallabies. I would thoroughly recommend Boobook for a fantastic stay.

Verandah catches the sun in the morning for breakfast. We were there during the week and it was lovely and quiet. We paid extra to have the beds made up before hand - well worth it as we had travelled up from Melbourne. Thoroughly recommend.

Last weekends visit was my second this year to the Bunyas, and my second ever. I have become obsessed with the area. It’s truly magical. We walked over 20km of hiking, and wished we could have done more. The whole visit was amplified with our stay at Boobook. It was absolutely beautiful. And so clean! I felt very much at home and kept telling myself that I could easily live there. Being able to light the fire was so nice. I definitely will be back and I hope to stay at Boobook again. The accommodation centre should also pat themselves on the back. The check in/check out system was flawless. No complaints whatsoever.

What a little gem in the mountains. We had a fabulous 3 day break in Boobook: thoroughly enjoyed lounging by the fire, throw in a couple of movies, reading a few books, a game of scrabble and just total relaxation. And did I mention a couple of bushwalks! Coffee at Poppies was terrific and a nice meal at the tavern. A genuine reason to pull on the beanie, scarf and puffer jacket. Beautiful xx

What a magical place to watch the sunrise and the full moon rise. There would be few places on the mountain which enable you to relax in the big cane chairs, protected from insect life, and drink in the Moon beams and sunrays! The facilities are unsurpassed!

The house was absolutely gorgeous, well maintained inside and out with lots of personal touches that convey the owners care about their property and your stay. Love the owl theme throughout! Great well equipped kitchen, comfy beds & lounge, great selection of DVD's, books and boardgames plus more. We loved the screened verandahs with the inviting furniture to spend time sitting outside. Only downside is we didn't get the influx of birds to feed this time but could have been the weather as well? House is on the small side but that suited us, easy to heat and the 3 of us (Grandmother, mother, daughter) had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the quiet location. The weak point is the bathroom if I am being picky, serviceable but not luxurious. The only thing I can think is missing is a few hooks to hang some coats etc inside but that is only because I am trying to give a balanced review. Loved our stay and Boobook and would definitely be back, highly recommend this house.

A cozy, beautifully positioned cottage. We spent three nights there in July and although it was cold and windy outside we were snug and warm inside. Boobook supplies every convenience you could think of using. Well stocked with glassware, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. We appreciated the great supply of wood under the house and stored on the verandah. The fact the fire was lit when we arrived was excellent and appreciated. The electric blankets were a bonus on the cold nights. We’ve stayed in many houses in the titles estate and although small, Boobook is one of the best.

BooBook was lovely. A Brush Turkey made itself known as soon as we arrived. Of course, Miss Turkey was just looking for birdseed. A friend suggested we bring some birdseed which the Turkeys were very pleased to get. Saw 5 not long after we topped up the birdbath out the back. There is a water can outside near the tanks to do that. We never saw any real Boobooks, but all the owl ornaments, inside & out made up for that. Everything was there including umbrellas hanging near the front door on the verandah. There are cupboards & drawers full of dvd's, boardgames & jigsaws. And lots of books to read. On the back verandah is a big basket/chest holding rackets & quoits etc. There is liquid hand soap in the kitchen & bathroom. There are a few herbs & sauces in the pantry + small jars of tea, coffee, cocoa & brown sugar near the kettle. Very thoughtful of the owners to offer all this even though we were told none of that would be provided. There is a drier in the Laundry which I used to dry my towel that I covered myself with when I was unlocking the green gate to return from a rainy outing - forgot my brolly. So grateful the drier was there. Overall, we had a very peaceful & relaxing time & would love to come back again soon.

It is close enough to the cafes and restaurants to walk and in a very private location. There are lots of birds close to the house so you get to enjoy lots of birdsong. We love the Bunya Mts, the rainforest, peace and quiet. Beautiful bird sounds are about all you hear. Boobook is in a beautiful position, morning sun for breakfast on the deck.. when it's not foggy and cloudy! Very well set up home, the best we've stayed at. So many sharp knives, we often take our own as that's one thing many places lack! Also good wooden chopping boards. I could list much more. The only thing for me that could be improved would be a Stainless steel kettle rather than a plastic one. It does spoil the beautiful filtered rainwater for hot drinks.

There are DVDs, CDs, board-games available, the veranda is simply heaven (with flyscreens too!) and we could just walk down to the café and the entrance to the east-side trails. The walking tracks, the coffee shop, restaurant and bar were all beautiful, it was a shame the markets were cancelled due to the bad weather that had been forecast, but didn't arrive until later.

Boobook is the best house we have stayed in at Bunya Mtns and we’ve been in many. Very well positioned and appointed. It has been renovated so looks very fresh. The screened front and back verandahs were appreciated the first two days when it was very hot and flies bad. By the last night it was cool enough to have the fireplace going and it warmed the whole house. It could do with some ceiling fans for those odd hot days. The bird bath drew over twenty species of birds during our four night stay. Lovely big window allowed us to watch them from inside. Highly recommend Boobook for two people or family of four.

I love Boobook House. There are Owl pictures and ornaments everywhere.I felt very much at Home. The house was absolutely spotless with very comfortable beds. I loved sitting on the fully screened verandah. We had everything that we needed. I had a visit from a Catbird and a beautiful Bower Bird and many beautiful parrots.I will be back again.

Boobook doesn't look very exciting from the outside, but as soon as you come up the stairs and walk onto the veranda you are surprised and that continues when you step into the house. It really is a home away from home. It is spotlessly clean, everything you need is there and more. You feel the love and thought that went into decorating this house and making it comfortable.

Boobook is spotlessly clean, cosy and has everything you could need. We really appreciated how thoughtfully decorated and equipped the cottage is. We like to cook and there was every knife, pot and utensil you could want. There was a great selection of DVDs and CDs, and even the board games were in perfect condition with all the pieces intact (how often does that happen?!). The fire heated the whole cottage beautifully on the colder nights, and the screened front and back porches were great places for a cupcake and to watch the wildlife. Love this cottage and plan to return.

Stayed in Boobook cottage from 14 to 16 June 2019. A lovely, well maintained and homely cottage that made our first stay in Bunya mountains very memorable indeed. The little touches throughout the cottage make all the difference - small jams, tea, coffee etc. We shall definitely be back soon.

Sensational. The rustic pieces and design thoroughly drew us in. The fire and ample wood was calming and welcoming. Comfy beds and sofas. Everything you could want we found in Boobook. The owl touches everywhere were astonishing, right down to the tissue box and an owl on a wooden slide. The owners have thought of everything possible to enable guests to have an enchanting stay at Boobook. Loved the hand wash, hand cream, pretty soaps and all things owls. Boobook was exceptionally clean. The owners have thought of everything. Its the best Bunya experience we've had. we were delighted with Boobook.

Boobook is a great little cottage. Plenty of room for 4 adults, with 2 verandahs to catch the morning and afternoon sun. It's really well set up for a relaxing getaway.

This is a beautiful cottage and all possibilities were provided for. We loved the screened in porches for breakfast each day and for enjoying a drink or two before dinner. The views were spectacular and the wildlife plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed the bird calls. Bookbook owners provided us with several interesting books about “The Bunya Mountains “ plus a few others about the local flora. My husband bought a few of the books from the store. We had a lovely relaxing mini vacation. Boobook is decorated very tastefully and beds and couches were comfortable. Our stay was March 18th to 22nd. Excellent walks and local drives.

My husband and I have holidayed at the Bunya Mountains many times over the years and have enjoyed the peaceful, safe, and friendly environment. We have stayed in many of the homes in the Bunya Mountains Titles Estate. BooBook is by far the best. What the new owners have done is amazing. It is a home away from home. The attention to detail is fantastic. From the screened patios to the generous first aid kit. Everything has been thought out and provided. Oh, and the home made jam is beautiful. BooBook will be our choice for future holidays. (The girls in the office also deserve a mention as they are fantastic).

This is the 3rd house we have stayed at in the Bunyas. It is a clean & tidy, well kept property. We were only there for 2 nights, but we would choose this property again for a longer stay. The fully enclosed verandas were great as the front veranda was where we ate our meals. Wildlife galore with bird calls, wallabies and bush turkeys. We'll be back.

Was great. Only flat batteries in outside clock in back verandah. The vacuum cleaner head was blocked up, husband cleared it to get better suction. One loose tile in front of toilet. Otherwise, fantastic, beautiful, clean. Can understand now why verandahs are enclosed, birds. Could hear & see bush turkeys fly up on neighbours verandah. We took things along that we didn’t need ie washing powder, s/wich toaster, fry pan, pegs other stuff as well. The male bush turkey, what a character, love him although he is a bit pesky. I seriously considered asking if we could have stayed this week as well.
