The Bunya Mountains did exactly what I had hoped for - relaxed and refreshed me. The originality and quirkiness of Waldeslust topped off an absolutely amazing experience. The owners have done an outstanding job with this cottage.

Peaceful and quiet, quirky and quaint. Couldn't have asked for a more appropriate hide-away for a Wedding Anniversary. Hamper Packs from Poppy's were excellent and meals at the Tavern Restaurant were gourmet.

Wonderful property 3 outdoor sitting areas Very private. Well located.Clean. All the mod cons but plenty of nostalgia. Artwork was to die for.Ensuite shower with a view! 2 reverse cycle Airconditioning so need to light fire. Only issue was rear door was difficult to lock from inside

An absolute little Gem. We loved our little stay in this very comfortable and well equipped cottage. so peaceful and quiet.
Maree Bugeja
A wonderful stay at a perfect little place! The house was surprising large for just a single bedroom and very comfortable, cozy and warm. There were a lot of beautiful little homely touches - we loved the quirkiness! And the location was amazing - very private and quiet. All in all it was a wonderful relaxing weekend getaway.

Comfy, Cosy Cottage full of Retro Charm. We had a lovely stay

Good accomodation, quiet, dark at night and in the morning to assist sleep. Well fitted kitchen, cool shower in bedroom. Nice to have 2 outside areas to sit depending on weather. There was considerably less wildlife at this house compared to previous properties I’ve stayed in at Bunya. If you want daily visits from the local wildlife, do not book this property, you may be disappointed.

It was time to hit pause and take a breath. This place certainly did that! Everything you needed was there! The bath to the shower, to all the cookbooks and more! It was a bit like stepping back in time. Each afternoon we had friendly parrots come to visit on the patio, sitting on our hand, this wouldn't happen anywhere else. It was great to reset the clock!
Raymond Nuss
We had the best time. Easy to book, office staff friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was decor was eclectic and interesting. Looooved the wood fire. Thank you.

It's such a rare treasure we hardly want to share. We'll be back! A seriously wonderful hideaway. And what a surprise!! We loved it and wanted to remain longer. Could hardly believe such a place could exist. Lovely experience. Just what we needed.

Our 2 night stay in this lovely cottage was wonderful. Very relaxing sitting on one of the balconies in the afternoon with a wine enjoying the wildlife. We even had a young dingo come to visit.

How delightful to only be able to hear the birds and the wind in the trees. No human noise - Bliss. We love the no dogs policy as the wildlife is superb and we didn't have to listen to barking dogs as you tend to in the cities. March was an interesting time as you could see the massive Bunya nuts on the ground; it was lovely and cool and we even had mist in the mountains. The forest is outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed the walks. Lovely to see the wallabies in their natural environment. It was so nice to get away to such a peaceful environment. Waldeslut is a lovely place to be for a couple.

We absolutely loved Waldeslust. We spent ages looking at the great furniture, quirky retro pieces and wandering through the garden. I think we'd taken 100 photos in an hour! It was so homely and welcoming and we would love to come back in winter to experience the cold weather and the fireplace. We spent just as much time outside on the back verandah sitting in the red chairs, wandering up the stone garden steps, and patting the horse next door as we did inside lounging on the Chesterfield, watching some cool dvds. Some Clydesdale horses also came to visit. We knew the cottage was different when we booked, but we had no idea how beautiful it would be and how much we would absolutely love staying there. Perfect perfect perfect!!!

This was our second visit to this peaceful little gem. The secluded nature of the property allows you to unwind and exhale…we will return next anniversary!
Lisa Parrella
We had a wonderful time, such a cute house and beautiful surrounds. Lots of dvds and board games, even had binoculars for bird watching.
David Rounsevell
This our second visit confirmed Waldeslust is just what we needed and is our favourite accomodation. Peace and stimulating comfort in a wonderful natural setting. We love it.

The chalet was absolutely amazing. It was extremely well set up and there was nothing missing. They had even provided insect repellent and tea tree oil and all sorts of stuff to help if you happen to get bitten by something on your bushwalks. The place was clean, it was beautiful, the fire was awesome, and there are two heaters in there which really added warmth on the cold nights. Highly recommend this place.
Kate White
Loved our stay in this property. Quirky, curated furnishings and that were comfortable and enjoyable. Plenty of outdoor seating areas as well, to enjoy watching the local birdlife and wallabies. Had everything we needed in the house, including a great DVD library. Would recommend this property for it's private, peaceful location and great amenities.
Jaymee Jones
My partner and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home! The home was very quirky with lots of character, the movie collection along with the balcony to watch the sunset were some of the homes best features! We would definitely stay again & recommend this home to our friends and family!

A unique, tranquil place that soothes and calms the soul. We enjoyed the walks and wild life spotting.

A wonderful four days. Great weather, lovely walks. Sometime with family who camped. Beautiful and comfortable cottage. Owner had thought of everything
Maryanne Gibbons
We stayed at Waldeslust Feb 17-19. I loved all the little touches and the cosiness of the house. It was very peaceful and private, exactly what I needed for a quiet weekend away. Thank you for having us.
Darren Cook
A charming single bedroom cottage with lovely surrounds. A short drive is all thats needed to get you into the Bunya main centre. Would love to spend a week there to fire up the wood stove and throw in a pizza or 2. Though without a mobile phone signal (even Telstra) it would have to be a work free week. Beautiful starry nights so was nice to lay out on the front grass and appreciate the heavens.
Felice F
Beautiful, intimate cabin in a convenient location. There is no internet and patchy phone service, but this allows you to disconnect and enjoy the peaceful environment. The cabin offers great amenities including a full kitchen, big bathtub, TV with lots of DVDs, and a fireplace. I highly recommend this property to any individual or couple looking to visit the Bunya Mountains.
Graeme Schuller
A beautiful eclectic home. The bird life around the back verandah is amazing to watch. We even saw a blue tongue lizard.
Alisha Jenkins
Fantastic stay, the cabin is beautiful and along the trees. Can’t wait to come back!
Sue Behan
Waldeslust is a charming cottage full of art and collectables. We loved the fire, visiting birds and wallabies.
William Mann
Wonderful clear days crisp air and many great walks. Love the energetic birdlife on all the walks.
Bridget Moloney
This weekend away was so beautiful, fantastic location and accommodation. Waldeslust was in such a beautiful little spot and the home itself was beautifully decorated and the included facilities worked well. The fireplace did a great job at warming up the entire house while ice formed on the grass outside. The outdoor area is a beautiful spot to sit of an afternoon and have a cup of tea. I highly recommend this spot and look forward to returning again and trying some of the other cabins available. Although, it will be hard to beat Waldeslust!
Jackie Bellinger
As first time visitors to the Bunya Mountains we were not disappointed. The cottage and had everything we needed. The weather was kind so bush trail walking in the morning and relaxing along with bird identification in the afternoon.
Malcolm Owen
Very spacious, with a well stocked movie library. Added bonus of a woodfired oven brought back memories of my aunt's cooking. Can't wait for a return visit.
Jim McCarthy
Our time in the cottage. Was incredible. It was peaceful. Loved watching the birds. Just soo relaxing. Cottage was clean. Loved the overall feel of it.
Alan&Jenny Emms
The pictures appeared better online than the reality. If the bedroom had been shown fully I wouldn't have considered staying. We found the interiors too dark. The house had that "old" smell upon entering. I guess we got used to it. It could do with some upkeep on the grounds - like a mown path to the front steps instead of wet grass to walk through. The rainwater shower head and electric jug could do with a descale. However we did enjoy the birdlife and the kitchen was extremely well equipped as was selection of games and DVD'S. Wouldn't stay there again.
J. Fraser
Romantic cottage with eclectic styling, nestled amongst mature trees and gardens. Perfect for a quiet romantic getaway and bird watching.
Jolene Watson
Beyond the wildest imagination. Bunya's never fails to surprise and delight. Waldeslust is divine. Breathtaking views with kitschy, off kilter delights in every nook and cranny to dazzle and inspire. Cozy and all the bits and pieces you need for a comfortable stay. If you want to melt into the perfect long weekend away with your lover, book now.
Carmel C
This little place was a lovely stay away from home. The quiet nights by the fire was a treat and the Bunya Mountains are beautiful.
Peter Hayes
Lovely property. Felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. A special place to enjoy. Lots of private nooks. Awesome sunsets from the deck and loved the rocky track above the house to catch the morning rays. Keen to come back.
Melissa Conway
Waldeslust was the perfect location for my private retreat. Quiet, cosy and with a comfortable and nostalgic decor both indoors and outdoors. Everything was well set out. Oh, and for those wondering, like I was, there IS a coffee machine - a drip filter style, with a fine silky mesh filter basket, so bring appropriately ground coffee and you have everything you need. I couldn't find that information, so brought my own plunger and ground coffee.
Trevor Marsden
Excellent. looking forward to revisiting.
Tracy and Stefan Sivek
Waldeslust is a cosy, eclectic and magical cabin. The decor alone will keep you occupied for ages, then there is the bird watching and the wonder of seeing all four seasons in one day. We will definitely come back again.
Julie Pearce
Great place, lots of birds around. Lots of interesting retro things in the house! Very peaceful surrounding, had all we needed. If you have a low set car be aware there is a short bit of gravel track to access.
Daniel Yarrow
Stayed from the 27th to the 1st of march and Absolutely loved it, was an amazing trip and definitely will be back for a longer stay next time!
Janiene Keasey
We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay and will be back.
Felice Ford
Waldeslust was the perfect cabin for my husband and I during our short visit. We brought a lot of necessities, but many amenities were readily available at the cabin including spices, soap, garbage bags, and appliances like an electric kettle. The cabin was also fully stocked with books, games, and DVDs, which provided great entertainment. There were many nice places to sit on the patio and outside on the property to have tea and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. The bed and furniture was cozy and perfect, and the bathtub and shower were both fantastic with windows to show the trees surrounding the property. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the accommodation office was helpful when we had questions during office hours. We would definitely love to visit again!
Sonia Muir
Unique, cosy with great bath / bathroom. Great value for money. Option for log fire and an abundance of movie (DVD's) to choose from. BBQ pack was good value and there were other little extras that made it a fabulous stay.
Rebecca Day
My partner and I had an incredible time at Waldelust. The perfect place for a weekend getaway. The rain set the scene and we spent the whole time snuggling up to the fire and enjoying the picturesque view from the bath. The place is very well accommodated and perfect for romance. We will definitely be back!
Bella Andersen
We had an absolutely enchanting stay at waldeslust. The only thing we would change it how long were there. 3 days was simply not long enough. The charm of the beautiful house was so relaxing and my idea of a dream living space. I highly recommend staying at the Bunya Mountains and particularly staying at waldeslust.
Kerrie Ireland
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Waldeslust so much that we tried to extend it. This quirky, thoroughly delightful cottage was more amazing than we expected. The wallabies, colourful parrots and fairy wrens entertained us in the fabulous garden, where you are spoilt for choice as to where you can sit to catch the breeze or soak up the sunshine whilst taking in the surrounding scenery. The large beautiful bedroom was cozy and inviting, with an impressive shower hidden behind the bed head. It was still cool enough in the evening for us to be romanced by the flames of the indoor fire place. There were surprises in every nook and cranny, books to read, DVD's and board games, all cooking needs, the lighting, just everything was perfect. Nature was captured from every window and door way. Waking up each morning and walking onto the patio through the French doors with our morning coffee was magical. Relaxing in the bath tub like you were nestled among the trees was a delight. We are already planning our next visit to Bunya Mountains where the rainforest walks are beautiful, and wallabies bountiful. We are so excited at the prospect of staying in Waldeslust again in the near future.
Alistair Hunt
We loved our stay at the Bunya Mountains. Waldeslust was a very unique place to stay we loved exploring the place and loved its quirky decor.
Meleah Macdonald
We stayed at Waldeslust for our honeymoon. We loved the cosiness of the cottage and the art works and knick knacks throughout and the old furniture. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and having the wildlife join us. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Although we just live up the road from the Bunyas it was lovely to have a romantic get away so close to home. We definitely recommend Waldeslust for a couple wanting a peaceful stay surrounded by nature.
Leanne White
I wouldn’t change anything. I had a most wonderful weekend. As soon as I stepped into the cottage I felt like I had gone home to Grandmas house. The birds that came to visit were exceptional. Thank you
Melissa Shipway
This was our third stay at Waldeslust and it certainly won't be our last! The cosy vibe and quirky decor makes us feel like we are staying in a home, not a holiday house. There's so much to love... the super comfy bed, relaxing bathtub, large luxe shower, warm fireplace, well appointed kitchen, impressive DVD library... the list goes on. It's within walking distance to the general store, bistro and beautiful walking tracks, and boasts an abundance of wildlife! The Bunya Mountains and Waldelust is our happy place :)
Tj Amies
Very comfortable home for 2 people. Just loved the place especially feeding the birds every afternoon. Make sure you take sunflower seeds their favourite. Had everything needed in the kitchen except a wok. Very quite and peaceful place yet walking distance to town. Highly recommended.
Georgia Hooi
This house really exceeded our expectations. It was a lot bigger, with a particularly large bedroom. It also had the most beautiful outlook from the bath and a very trendy shower in a surprise location. When we arrived it was surrounded by wallabies, and when we put birdseed out the rosellas came in the morning. The house has everything you need, including things you didn't know you needed!
Julie Gresty
Lovely, private, hideaway. Lots of wildlife so we enjoyed visits from Rosellas, King Parrots, colourful wrens and even a Wallaby with Joey in pouch. Our relaxing weekend was made even more enjoyable by the abundance of videos, games and books, thoughtfully provided for us. Would highly recommend at stay here.
Janina Speck
We loved our stay in this beautiful house. Loved the decorations and the bird life was wonderful.
Deirdre Macfie
Even in the hot dry windy weather we found Waldeslust cool and comfortable with a lovely flow through of air from the plentiful windows and doors. We enjoyed the privacy of the house and the quirky decor. Waldeslust made our three night stay in the Bunyas at a very dry time an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Jo Engel
What a wonderful house Waldeslust is! Everything was just perfect. The shower room, birdlife, wallabies, rock garden, privacy, collectables everywhere... a truly amazing place. Absolutely loved our stay here.
Julie Reeves
We absolutely loved our stay at Waldeslust and cannot wait to go back in spring. Thank you to the owners for providing such a great place to wind down and relax, and to the Bunya Mountains Accommodation Village staff for great service :)
Margaret Young
Magical & generous accommodation. Beautiful spot in a beautiful place. Next time we will stay a week!
Mariana Cruz
We liked the house and thought it was really full of character. The only thing that was a bit unpleasant was that the toilet seat got really wet every time we flushed, as water from inside the bowl would escape.
Sue Bugeja
Perfect getaway, absolutely love the quirky, fun and incredibly well set up little cottage. Would absolutely recommend this amazing little cottage.
Darren Brown
Booking organisation was very well set up and easy to deal with. The property itself was excellent. It had everything we needed and then some. Great place to go for those needing a technology break. Walks were easy (some were closed but that is unavoidable at times). Wallabies and Kangaroos seem to have way more road sense than those we have at home.
Kylie Wallis
I loved staying at 'Walderlust'. I loved the location and all the house was decorated beautifully. I loved all of the little things in the house, many reminding me of things that we had when I was little. Thank you for having me stay.
Mikaela Boase
We couldn't be more pleased with our stay at Wandelust - the cabin is absolutely beautiful and one of the most relaxing homely places I have ever stayed in - what an incredible collection of arts and crafts - it even smelt how my grandmas house used to smell! Awesome nostalgia! My only question for the owners was if the Rosella that came for breakfast is a regular, he was so sweet and friendly! The lady at the accommodation center (so sorry I don't know her name) that booked us in was so lovely and made us feel right at home when we arrived late after a hectic drive up the mountain range in the dark! Such a positive experience! Keep doing what your doing!
Mark Phillips
A Great place for a Couple to stay for few nights its in nice a quiet area. Waldeslust house is a mixture of old and modern. There is everything in the house to make you feel at home The only bad thing beware of the stinging nettles around the grounds Wife touched one and was in pain for hours.
