It was extremely easy to find and as soon as we saw it we were blown away at how special it looked even from the outside. Everything was so well appointed and fresh and we cannot wait to return for another trip very soon! You felt like you could reach up and touch the Milky Way. It was close to all the walks we wanted to do, it was spotlessly clean and well designed. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful little cottage with a spectacular view. Well presented with all required amenities. Conveniently located. Log fire for those cooler nights. Great walks that are well signposted and of various lengths. The Bunyas Tavern and Poppy's Cafe have beautiful food and well priced.

Great place. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the view, peace, location and friendly wildlife that came to visit us or just pass by. Definitely worth bringing some birdseed and topping up the hanging feeder on the deck. Highly recommended. Don't forget to bring firelighters, though!

We had the most amazing couple of days starting at The Bower. It was romantic, cosy and more than we expected. We wished we could have had at least one more day to soak up the surroundings. We saw so many birds and animals, including what we believe was a dingo. We were also treated to an amazing sunset and a subzero night that gave us amazing photo opportunities of the roos on the frost covered grass. We are looking forward to returning to the Bunyas in the spring/summer to see the seasonal changes. Loved it!!

My wife and I spend two lovely days in the Bunya Mountains, this was our first trip there and we loved the place, the Bower was a great place to stay, lots of beautiful birds and you can never tire of watching the wallabies and we did see the local dingo come through the yard. Great location to the village area and the near by hikes which we enjoyed. The Bower had everything you need to enjoy a stay for a night or for weeks (I wish I was there for weeks) A great place to stay and would definitely be booking it again if it's just the two of us.

The view is just nice from the veranda, lots of birds visiting us and Roos very cute and friendly. The mountain hike is awesome track easy and well signed. The Bower is a lovely small hideaway, perfect for two people. The verandah at the back has an awesome view and is visited very regularly by all manner of wildlife. It is close to the cafe, shop & Tavern but you still seem to be away from everything. The huge trees close to the building are full of birds and lovely to be near. The whole area is just wonderful. All the walks are close & easy to find, and we had no difficulty with the ones we tackled (except for the water after an extraordinary few days of rain!). The meals we had at both the cafe and Tavern were excellent and all the people were helpful and friendly.

We loved “The Bower”. For just a couple it was an excellent size. It’s virtually brand new, extremely well designed, all equipment needed is new and of high quality. Although it is right on the main entrance road, we did not hear traffic at all. It was good that our mobiles were able to get a signal (Telstra) so our internet connection worked fine. We brought our own food supplies and used the microwave, stovetop and oven. We appreciated the large fridge and roomy shower. We will definitely return to “The Bower”. Bunya Mountains Accommodation is a smoothly running, well organised business, with prompt and courteous service. Thanks very much!

Also I couldn’t get the stove to work, but maybe I misconstrued the directions. I left this msg with the key when returning it.

We had a wonderful stay during winter, a very comfortable couch and beautiful fireplace was a great spot to soak up the view of the wallabies each afternoon. Great kitchen and beautifully decorated house, the double shower is awesome too. Cute bar and stools on the deck was a great place to eat breakfast if there is no wind. Unfortunately very uncomfortable bed and pillows, recommend bringing your own pillows and don’t recommend staying here if you don’t like hard beds. The fluffy blankets provided were much appreciated as it was -3 degrees on our second morning.

This is a magical place to stay! We loved the view, decor and vibe throughout the house. The only thing holding this review back from being 5-stars is the bed. My husband and I both found it a little too hard and didn't sleep well as a result. We are sensitive to bed-firmness though, so maybe it was just us. Everything else was wonderful :)

The Bower's wonderful location on the top of the ridge, with great views and wildlife, made it the choice for our return visit in June 2024 after being here previously in June 2021. As before, we loved the wood fire, electric blankets and air conditioning as well as all the other comforts that are provided. The new wood store near the car port was a big improvement on the old arrangement. On the minus side, we felt that the new closed in deck was a bit empty, cold and uninviting and tended to cut us off from the passing parade of birds, wallabies, bandicoots, etc. It was a good idea that one section of opening window (at the far end of the deck) was unscreened as that assist greatly with photography - however, this isn't referenced anywhere so we didn't actually notice it until the last day when it was too late to be of benefit and a number of our photos were below standard due to the flyscreens. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our stay despite some problems with the meal packs that we ordered in advance - we would not recommend those.

The Bower was a delightful place to stay with everything we needed and more. It was a well-designed place with a great enclosed balcony. The decor was lovely and modern. We saw a great variety of wildlife as well, Wallabies, Rosellas, Satin Bowerbirds, Blue Birds and Cockatoos. It is a short drive to the Tavern/Bistro, Poppies on the Hill Cafe, the Accommodation Centre and the National Park.

My partner and I had a lovely time at The Bower. The view from the verandah was excellent, the kitchen was well equipped for me to cook whatever I liked for my stay, and the accommodation was overall very cosy. The only real complaint that I have is a flaw in the way the cabinets are built. The upper cabinets just left of the stove where the plates and such are kept can collide with eachother, and as I found out if you are rummaging around trying to find something and they collide with a bit of speed they can cause an extremely loud bang (my ears actually rang a bit. This could be cheaply and easily fixed with some felt stuck to the interior edge of the cabinets to dampen any sound from such collisions.

The Bower is a very comfy little cottage for a couple with a reasonably nice view out the back. As a bird photographer, all I can say is WOW!! I saw more birds in two days than I have in the last two years. We will certainly be returning for another visit.

26-28 Jan- It was a great place even if there was limited view in the veranda, I still spent most of my time there. It was cosy and perfect for couples. I was amazed because the actual place is prettier than the photos online. The ladies at the office were very accommodating too. There were a few glitches but we still enjoyed our stay all throughout.

The Bower is a delightfull place for a couple. Very well mantained and clean, it has everything that you need to have a peaceful and/or romantic stay at Bunya National Park. Plenty of wildlife, nice light illuminating the house and a wide verandha to enjoy the magnificient view.

Beautiful house, everything we needed & some. The bottle of wine & peanuts were a surprise. Even though it was January, the temperature dropped to 14 at night, so we had the fire going. Once the fireplace was going, we could not open the door to put more wood on, I think it was a problem with the metal heating up & expanding. I contacted the office, they had the maintenance man there within 1/2 hour. He had to force the door open &told us not too fully close the door handle . After that we had no problem, also he said he would make note of the problem. We would highly recommend this house to everyone to stay & enjoy the beautiful Bunya Mountains. This was our 30th year visiting, we will be back.

Very comfortable and cosy cottage - perfect couples retreat. Well appointed and furnished. Bbq could do with a good cleanout of fats and oils dripped through grill and accumulated under the hot plate area. Suggest... small chair located on front porch to sit to capture early morning sun. Happy to recommend this cottage to others.

The Bower is an absolutely beautiful small house ideal for a couple. It is very well designed and fitted out to the highest standard. As it is quite new, everything is in tip-top order and up to date. We had lots of wallabies in the yard and were visited by a pair of king parrots. We would certainly stay at The Bower again.

A well designed small house, just perfect for two. Everything we needed was supplied, to make our stay a delight! We loved the birdlife and we are missing seeing the resident wallabies and their joeys. The fire was much appreciated.

Lovely cottage with a great deck which invites all the birds to visit. It has a wood burner, for those inclined to play with matches, or a press-the-button-for-instant-heating alternative. Either way, it's nice and cosy with lovely decor, a comfy bed and a very spacious bathroom. Everything that you may need is there - including the loo roll, shampoo, soap, samples of tea and coffee which the accommodation centre said to bring. Just beware, if you're not fully catering for yourselves, bed time comes early on the mountain and everything closes early - including dinner time at the tavern.

Beautiful location with lovely northern views. The Bower is brand new and has everything you need. Just the right size for a couple, it's a great place to stay. Walk to Fisher's Outlook for the sunset or to the village for meals.

The Bower is fantastic new dwelling ideally suited for a couple. It is modern, clean with great facilities not far from the village centre. It is a great design and a credit to the owners. Their is also abundant bird and wildlife around the building. I would certainly recommend The Bower for a stay at the Bunya Mountains.

This is a very nice and well thought out house. I like that they have put in an electric BBQ and they have put in a very nice sized back verandah. One suggestion for improvement is to put a slab of timber on the railings in the North East corner of the verandah. It would make a nice breakfast, morning tea, lunch, wine & nibbles, dinner nook. With 2 bar style stools you would have a beautiful view over the railings to forest below. Can I also suggest that you try to get rid of the stinging nettles down the side of the house where the wood is stored.

We loved the accommodation, being new it was so fresh and tastefully furnished. An excellent deck for bird watching, reading, and looking at the view and catching the breezes. Because we stayed 5 days it was really good to have a washing machine.
