The Bunyas never disappoint. Location of Oodgeroo can't be beaten. Wallabies and birds galore at your back door. Plenty of rustic charm, verging on the shabby which is perfect for large groups with kids etc. Still very comfortable though. Be ready to chop your own firewood from the large supply of unsplit wood.

Enjoyable time. Found the proximity to the wallabies and birds fantastic. Great outside space for kids to play. Nice and close to cafes etc. Was disappointed that advertising did not say that two of the bathrooms were outside the main building.

We have been coming to Bunya Mts. with the extended family for 7 years & everyone has had a fantastic weekend over those years. This year the chalets have had a update which was a great addition .

The house was much more satisfactorily appointed than the adjoining property where we stayed last time. ( example - there was an adequate supply of crockery and cooking appliances) The furniture set up was ideal and what we really appreciated was the cleanliness. I must say that there was only a VERY small amount of gas ( judged by the lightness of the cylinder) and that is a drawback for most people. We did not use the BBQ so it did not matter

Oodgeroo was very well equipped and comfortable, attractively fuurnished, and right among those beautiful Bunya pines. All equipment was in good order and more than adequate. However, we hadn't realised that there was no upstairs bathroom. We managed the situation, but it was an inconvenience. Perhaps one of the two separate rooms upstairs could be converted to a bathroom???

I have been going to Bunya Mts since 2009 and love our stay In Oodgeroo, so much so we have already booked for next year. It is in a great position and has everything we need. The only thing we have noticed over the last few visits is the oven is taking a long time to heat up to the required temperature. Would be great if it could be checked. Thanks Jan

I took my small youth group (13 youth, 6 leaders) here in late May for a youth camp and it was the perfect accommodation. We booked Toolburra as well and put the girls in the Toolburra loft and the boys in the Oodgeroo loft and the leaders in the bedrooms. The adjacent stall bathrooms meant we could have a boys bathroom and a girls bathroom as well. We absolutely loved it. The chalet was so cozy and well-appointed. We weren't in want of anything. Every bed had a doona and there was a good stock of blankets, so no one was cold overnight (although note that we did all bring our own blankets as well). If you keep the fire stoked high continually it really heats the whole house nicely. Having free provided firewood was such a gift. The grounds were immaculate and absolutely picturesque, and we had good proximity to the office, cafe and tennis courts, without feeling like we lost any privacy. I thought the price was pretty reasonable, given all that. All throughout the process leading up to the booking, the staff were really friendly and helpful over the phone and email. The birds didn't really show up for us unfortunately. The only inconveniences were that the Oodgeroo clock had flat batteries from the start which made it hard to keep the youth camp running on time, and both barbecues ran out of gas, even though we had only used one barbecue once. We discovered this at 6:30am so weren't able to go to the office yet for more gas, and it delayed breakfast. But really, in the context of everything, these things were very minor. We were continually so grateful for what amazing accommodation we had stumbled across and just how beautifully it worked for our group.

Delightful. Although creaky and as noisy as a tent, the house was a great space to enjoy the fireplace and gorgeous trees. We missed the kangaroos.

Loved our family stay at the Bunya Mountains. Accommodation was a little tired but substantial sleeping arrangements for larger groups.

Lovely place, it just need screen doors, there are no fans or aircon downstairs and doors and windows open meant we had 100’s of flies

We love coming to the Bunya Mountains for our Year 12 Retreat. The accommodation is perfect for your group - comfortable with all of the amenities. It is always clean and tidy and the staff are wonderful.

The place is beautiful, as we have visited Bunya Mountain a couple of times now. Oodgeroo is only half of the house, and the other half is a different property. We were not aware of this at the time of booking and assumed we had the whole house. It would be nice if you could add this information clearly to the property description. There are only 3 bedrooms plus the open space in the upper floor (which is technically not a bedroom with privacy). Only one washroom inside the house. There is a washroom block separate to the house, we were not aware of this as well as it was not clearly mentioned in the description. If known, we would have booked a different house which is stand-alone and had washrooms inside. The house is good for a bigger group, you can hire the other part of the house separately as well.

My group had 20 people stay in 2 adjoining chalets for my sisters 50th birthday. We had a really wonderful time. The chalets had everything we needed. BBQ, outdoor picnic tables, comfy beds, cosy wood fire with firewood supplied, very clean. Great value for money. Thank you to the super friendly staff.

Stayed in 2 lodges for 3 days with our Camera club. Great setting and plenty of room for everyone in the lodge

Great location for getting a real winter.

The house is fabulous, great location and plenty of room. But, sadly the fireplace wasn't working properly - the vent was not doing what it should so it wasn't as warm and cozy as it could have been.

Loved being at the Bunyas (as always!). Oodgeroo is a great space allowing for a large group. It suited us very well.
Annie Yang
Very nice place. My family and friends really enjoy the stay.

Oodgeroo was an amazing place for us 17 girls to stay. The kitchen was large enough and came with a big fridge, all cooking equipment, a stove, microwave and dishwasher which made cleaning up really easy. The lounge/dining room was spacious and comfortable, we all love the outside area where the beautiful native birds came every morning and landed on us. The bedrooms were all perfect for our needs, and the Bunk beds suited us very well. Each room had cupboards and adequate storage. The house is connected to the next door house however you can not hear any noise. There is one bathroom/toilet inside and one outside complete with twi showers and two toilets, which was very well maintained. There were only three negatives - no curtains in the Bunk bed room, a broken fly screen in the dining room and the BBQ was so rusted it was unusable. We all loved the tavern and the cafe - both had very friendly staff, we also loved the home made jams and relish you can buy from the Cafe. We all gave this girls trip a 10/10 and would definitley return and stay in Oodgeroo!

Ali in all we had a very pleasant stay and loved the proximity to nature, the walks, games room and star gazing. We had the whole place to our selves which was lovely. The light in the toilet block was not working which made it hard the first night as we had 13 guests having to share the internal bathroom. Having told this to reception in the morning however, I was able to get access to the adjoining toilet block for the next night, which was very helpful. So here is some constructive feedback. - Check and replace toilet block lights before guests arrive - The games room was great but needed a bit of TLC. The table tennis net was broken. The overall lighting in the games room was quite dim. - The cabin was lovely but the overall lighting was quite dim, particularly in the bbq area and kitchen. Hope this helps. Best regards

Simply great. It’s an ideal place for nature lovers.

As always these chalets do not disappoint! We have been staying in the same properties for 15 years. Highly recommend!! 5/5

Upon arrival we were surprised that it wasn't a detached house. This was not clear at the time of booking. Once we were over that surprise, we were again surprised that a bathroom included as part of the accommodation was located in a different building. This meant 1 bathroom inside for 22 people. Doesn't work well in freezing weather. We thought all surprises were over until we stepped inside and read the notices on the walls - SURPRISE! - you need to clean the whole place when you leave. This was the best surprise because there were more surprises within it like random groceries and used underwear found under furniture amongst the filth left behind by other amateur cleaners. The rest of the surprises included cobwebs everywhere, spiders on my daughter's bed, dust on every surface, no evidence of moping ever and ornaments fresh from the 1980s. We thoroughly enjoyed being awoken each morning to the conversations of the neighbouring holiday makers through the bedroom wall and tiptoeing through the cigarette butts left by the amateur cleaners on the porch and returning from our days walking to the comfort of reclining into a brown stained lounge suite which should have been white. Dinner time was interesting as there were less chairs than beds in the accommodation forcing us to eat in shifts. The penultimate delight was when we realised that the mattress protectors that were present on some beds and the dooners are never, ever cleaned. (...vomit) Coming out of COVID-19 restrictions, we were comforted (NOT) at the level of hygiene that have been implemented at Bunya Mountains accommodation, including the (lack of) social distancing at the markets.

Great for large groups. Close to all the local attractions yet quite private. Kitchen well equipped.Outside amenities worked well.

Wonderful weekend in the beautiful mountains. Comfortable accommodation with everything we could need. Catering by Poppies cafe was excellent. Thank you.
Carly Greenwood
Value for money was good. We had plenty of room for our group of 16 people. Fire kept us warm in the middle of winter. We had enough kitchen implements to cook a few different meals. If anyone we knew was heading to Bunya Mountains with a group I'd happily recommend Oodgeroo.
Katelyn Champney
Honestly such value for money and the outlook of these chalets are next to none. The Bunya mountains are perfect during winter with wood fires and are so cosy inside. We have been coming to the bunya mountains for 7 years and it never disappoints. The Chalets are neat and tidy and easily sleep a large or small group. We will definitely be back.

I had a group of 14 stay. We all had a great time and found the accommodation was very clean and tidy and added to our enjoyment. I also found the staff very helpful and friendly. All in all a great weekend

A fantastic place for a large group of photographers, even in the rain the wallabies and the king parrots came to visit. The living area and kitchen became the perfect work area for indoor photography. We will be back soon
