Another lovely stay at Lochanbar - it is a very comfortable and cozy home. We appreciated the heating and electric blankets, along with the games and dvds. Well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay a positive one. The possum visited the back deck every night, and we enjoyed the rosellas and king parrots. The bush walk from behind the camping area was great - with stunning waterfalls.

5-9 May 2025. Absolutely outstanding experience to revisit The Bunyas after over 45 yrs since last there. Found some old features to did lots of steps. Shame about track closures near Dandabah. The Forest has certainly reclaimed a lot of open country but we were able to find Carbines Shute location albeit not visible. Cabin simply incredible in its fitout and better then home with utensils and appliances. Loved decor and in particular the fire place, so good and easy to use. Massive wood pile and kindling in yard easy to source. We will be back. Paul McG

We had a lovely restful time at Lochanbar. Arriving late in the afternoon, collecting the key and straight into the accommodation where everything was ready for us. We had fire lit, and beds made, plenty of pillows and blanket options, quickly. Detailed instructions to make everything work. Great position off the main road but an easy walk to trails, tavern & Poppies. Sad not to see the wallabies about so much. Lots of work being done but still able to walk, visit markets and eat out. The meals both at tavern & Poppies were great. The fungi in the forest were absolutely beautiful, have been visiting for 50 years and never seen such a colourful amazing display. We love returning to the Bunya's and enjoyed our stay at Lochanbar.

Lochanbar was an absolute dream of a place, we loved it. Thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful! The cottage was cosy and had absolutely everything we would need or want, very well stocked. The selection of bird books and other items like games etc. was great. We will try to return at some stage, loved the cool and wet weather too. The only criticism I have is, the food at the Bunyas restaurant was a little pricey for what it was, but otherwise all good. The seclusion of the Bunya mountains is special, thank you again.

It was such a cosy cottage that had everything in it you needed. The owners have certainly made it a home away from home. The Bunya Mountains are so peaceful and relaxing, beautiful bush walks, lots of nature . The Coffee shop and the Bistro both had great food and lovely staff. We will definitely be back next year but longer next time 3 nights wasn't long enough !!

Everything plus more you need for your stay (Linen, fireplace, wood, kitchen supplies+++, blankets, games, books, dvds) Great location not far from cafe/restaurant/shop and start of most walks. Quiet location surrounded by rainforest, wallabies and birds. What else do you need!! Would recommend to all to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at Lochanbar, a lovely clean quiet property within easy walking distance of the store, tavern and cafe. So many thoughtful extras were provided such as dvds, cosy knee rugs, books toilet spray and hand wash. The kitchen was very well equipped and the BBQ easy to use. A delightful stay over the Christmas weekend. Warm days for bushwalking along a range of well marked trails through the rainforest & cool misty nights for fires & cosy indoor gatherings. Lochinbar was extremely well set up with all kitchen utensils & appliances, linen & very comfortable beds. Wildlife kept us amused & the quiet at night ensured good nights’ sleeps. Great service at The Tavern & Poppies and well stocked general store. Clear, hassle free check in & out. We will visit again.

We enjoyed the property. We believe the toaster and other appliances should be placed in more accessible spots as we didn’t find them until the day we left. Even though there were little signs we missed reading them and had to use the grilled to toast out our bread. Also there were a few light bulbs that were not working. Otherwise it was a cosy place to stay.

Lovely relaxing place with lots of wildlife. The food at the bistro was great and huge serves. Plan to walk it off on many of the beautiful hikes. There were warnings about not walking alone because of wild dogs so make sure you plan on taking a hiking buddy. This was my second visit to Bunya Mountains in the past year and both times the accommodation through Bunya Mountains Accommodation was great.

The property is a fantastic cosy cottage and with plenty of room, hot showers, comfortable carpet, modern kitchen, views to wallabies in the morning, everything was great. My one complaint is the padlocked gate entry to the street. Why on earth is that needed? It’s annoying to have to get out of car to open gate every time you leave the street by car. I would prefer rent outside the estate because of that gate alone.

We had a great time. The accommodation was great and the staff at the accommodation centre were helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was nice and the environment was thoroughly enjoyable. Only problem that we had was running out of gas on the last day half way though cooking breakfast on the BBQ.

I always enjoy my time at the Bunyas. The last time I stayed was 10 years ago! Lochanbar had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The birdlife was amazing. The Roos are always lovely to see and the dingo we saw driving out topped off my list. No snakes though!! The downside to my stay is I wish beds were made in all accomodations. This would make life a lot easier when you are travelling. We also went to Poppies Cafe and I think we must have been there the same time as a function/convention. We were not able to be inside so ended up with our ice cream outside. All in all not a bad trip. Would I come back. The house was wonderful, 8t had everything one could wish for. The beds were comfortable, the shower a dream. All the extras we were not expecting . It made our four days perfect. Lochanbar is a great choice for families, as it’s conveniently located near the walking trails and the local cafe & shop. It’s in a beautiful setting with wildlife sightings from the verandah. There’s lots of thoughtful amenities like board games and children's toys, dvds & books. Beds are comfy and the kitchen is well stocked. We really appreciated the notes and signage around the house; so often you spend ages trying to figure things out but the owners have carefully and clearly labelled things and explained where & how things work. We’ll definitely be back & highly recommend.

What a wonderful weekend. Peaceful & Quiet and surrounded by nature, kangaroos, birds and lots of other wildlife. a great place to get away and unwind and explore the National Park and the amazing views. Staff at the cafes and Store were exceptional and good old country style friendly. Accommodation was handled very professionally and with a smile and a laugh. Accommodation was very comfortable and we felt well looked after and provided for all our needs. I would recommend this to anyone who just would like to get away from it all you wont be disappointed.
