It was a pleasant time in the beautiful Bunya Mountains. We enjoyed our walks in the rainforests and tea and scones at Poppy's. Everyone was friendly and obliging.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Kookaburra Cottage is an excellent holiday house. We've rented it 3 times now in the September school holidays so that we can enjoy the time with two of our grandchildren and their parents. We''ll go to Kookaburra again, for sure.

A well equipped chateau, peaceful and quiet wild life aplenty. We enjoyed our stay and left feeling refreshed and relaxed, the fire place was awesome. And the short walk to walking tracks cafes and general store was very helpful. We will be back.

Pretty good parea, clean and relaxing lots of wildlife and birds, and of course a freesh air. The whole area is very peaceful and green. I think better maps would help with a bit more details about the walking tracks and the distances. This would really help families with small kids and elderly, who are majority of people there it seems. Maybe a bit longer working hours for the cafe and the general store. Re cottage where we stayed: The cottage is nice. The only thing i would improve re cottage is the outside area could do with a bit more comfortable chairs to relax a bit and a better car access. The current table is ok but something more comfortable for sitting would help, expecially on the top floor which has nothing on the verandah. The place is pretty clean but the matress protector in our bed was full of stains and did not look clean. I think having at least a fresh duna cover would be a nice thing too. Also, some places inside the cottage were dirty inside, like when we opened some of those small storage areas, they were really dirty inside, as well as the couch inside the living area once you lift the sitting cushions. So, its clean until you take a look at those places that are not so obvious at first.

The Bunya Mountains 'village' and accommodation was excellent. The property itself was clean, functional and had everything we needed but it was the surrounding environment that was the real standout.

Fantastic cottage, nice and clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again

Kookaburra Cottage is in a prime location on Firefly Drive. It makes it easy to walk to the café, tavern and the bush walk entrance. The kitchen has great amenities so it makes it easier when cooking for the stay duration. The fireplace works well for the house size and the view from the patios is very relaxing. I really love the Bunya environment and will be back again.

This is a lovely property with everything we needed. There were even a few extras supplied. It is an easy walk to the nearby shop/cafes. We loved the huge balcony at the back where birds came to feed.

Kookaburra cottage is such a lovely cottage. It was clean comfortable and had all we needed for our 2 night stay. Fantastic position too. Close to walking tracks and cafes.

Very enjoyable and comfortable with many bed choices - perfect for large family.

The cottage was wonderful. They have everything that you need and a lovely large verandah. It was very cold when we came so ensure you bring heaters as the electric blankets and small fan heaters provided were not enough to heat the rooms during windy times when the fire cannot be lit.
Sian Davis
We had a lovely stay and the house had everything we needed.

We have stayed in many houses in the last 8 years of visiting Bunya Mountains and Kookaburra Cottage has jumped to the very top of the list. It was cozy, with a great verandah, the beds are comfy and it was the perfect space for our winter getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the Bunya Mountains, staying at Kookaburra Cottage. The cottage was lovely. Nice and clean and comfortable. The kitchen and laundry are well equipped. The log fire and the electric blankets on the bed kept us warm and cosy. Love the visits by the locals; the wallabies, some with babies, grazing on the grass around the cottage. And the beautiful king parrots, rosellas, sulphur crested cockatoos and currawongs who visited us on the balcony. We loved our walks in the Bunya forest, so peaceful. Wonderful to see all the forest trees and plants, waterfalls and hear and see the birds. We enjoyed Poppies cafe and seeing the kookaburra who often sat on one of the metal poppy flowers along the path. The staff in the accommodation office were very helpful and friendly. Love our Bunya beanies :) Loved our time here.

Very well maintained home and comfortable.

Kookaburra Cottage was lovely. We 3 ladies felt extremely secure and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable as was the lounge. There is plenty of room for a larger group. Plenty of firewood was provided however kindling would be a nice addition as we were useless with the axe but we got there in the end.
Michelle Martinez
A beautiful cottage, great location and nice and clean.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kookaburra. We were lucky enough to stay at Bunya with 2 families next door, so could easily go between each others houses. Our home was big enough to accomodate all of us to gather together for board games and movies next to the fire. We loved hanging with the bird on the deck & watching wallabies hop by. Perfect. The only fault was the lack of flat yard, but it wasn’t far to walk down the town to kick a ball around.

Another magical 4 nights, def could of stayed longer. Really loved this house, def a favourite. We also did the 2 hour Horse and Carriage ride on my birthday, what a highlight, loved it!

Had the extended family for a weekend. The cottage was great, cosy on the winter nights. Close to all amenities. Total recommend a visit to the Bunya's and organise accommodation through the accommodation centre. Easiest, best organised and addition services are available.

Lovely little cottage - had plenty of kitchen supplies to cook with. Great position to walk to the coffee shop and close walk entrances.
Neville and Joanne WILSON
We have been coming to the Bunya Mountains for over 30 years. Our grandchildren talk about bringing their children. Less water in the rainforest, less wallabies and possums, but sadly more wild dogs and dingoes

It’s a beautiful cosy cottage with enough space for 8 adults. It had all the amenities. The place was clean as well. We will definitely going to stay there again.

This is a lovely house which is situated in a great location. There is a lot of inclusions in the house and the birds love to come and visit.

Great cottage that easily accommodated our extended family. Everything we required was there and the bush outside the back of the house meant we had a real feeling of being in nature. We would come again to this cottage!

Irina Leonida
A very cosy cottage , pleasant, well endowed, clean. The younger generations were a bit frustrated with the reduced reception.
Rachel Sullivan
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kookaburra Cottage. Thank you. Some things we thought we should bring to your attention for future guest would be- 1. the knives need sharpening or at least a knife sharpener. 2. there are salt n pepper shakers, but none of them have salt n pepper in them. 3. there are a number of creatures breeding in the walls, we understand that might be out of your control. 4. the house didn't feel clean, it didn't feel like it was ready for us. A lot of dust build up and the deck area hadn't been cleaned in a long time. 5. we were impressed with what was there for us to use. Not only in the kitchen, but upstairs and in bathrooms and laundry. 6. we loved the outdoor setting, much better than we expected as per the photos online. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again.
Doug Wells
It's a great place to stay. Lots of room to spread out. Comfortable beds. BBQ on the back deck was great to cook dinner and breakfast. Heaps of birds come to the back deck looking for a feed of wild bird seed. Forget going to the shop an paying to feed them. Easy walk to the shops, restaurant and walks.
Jean-Marc de Maroussem
Great accommodation. A heat pump might be an idea!
Karen Hare
Property was great. Would recommend this property

It was a lovely place to stay. There was plenty of wildlife around to enjoy their company. We had the fire on 2 out of 3 nights. The 3rd, we went to the restaurant for dinner and had their fire to enjoy. We did a few great walks from the house. We'll look at going back next year to Kookaburra Cottage.
