We really enjoyed our stay at Ecos. The house was very neat and well stocked with everything we needed and much more. The fireplace was very cosy and our only regret is not staying longer. A wonderful venue for two couples!

We have stayed at Ecos on many occasions as well as at least 10 other houses over the past 37 years. It is set apart from the other houses on the mountain giving it privacy and peaceful setting among the rain forest on the South Eastern side of the mountain. It is a modern home with comprehensive furnishings and very well equipped. It is spotless, very convenient for 2 couples offering privacy and your own bathroom. The host has gone to great lengths to make it comfortable - I suspect they would stay there often as it has personal touches not normally found in rental accommodation. There are under cover car shelters which are very handy in rainy conditions. The house is a short walk to both the lookout and the Dandabah park area as well as walks on the Southern and Northern parts of the park. Full marks to the host, the cleaners and the administration for yet again another lovely mountain stay.

Beautiful place, everything you needed in the kitchen is available. Lots of movies and board games. Fireplace were ready, all we needed to do was light it and enjoyed. I even saw a wild dog chasing a bush turkey in the backyard. Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much for your place.

Fabulous home in a stunning location. Downside was that I thought there was air conditioning but it was only in the main bedroom. There was a fire place but the place is freezing when you get home in the afternoon and in the mornings when you get up. Would be perfect in the summer but not winter.

Wow! We had been to the Bunya Mountains on day trips and always planned to stay for a few days. So we booked Ecos for a mid week stay and Ecos delivered on all aspects. Fabulous private location surrounded by nature with views through the trees to the distant plains. Lovely modern furnishings and a a nice fireplace (woodburner). The fireplace was prepared and ready to light as we walked in the door. This made for a cosy start to our stay. The deck was a delight and had a BBQ (which we did not use on our short stay) however we were treated to scrub turkeys, a few wallabies and visits from a possum and numerous birds. We had brought some wild bird mix (from our local produce store) and the birds flocked to the deck rail for a treat. Ecos had everything we needed from comfortable beds, linen, doonas and extra blankets. Both ensuite bathrooms were spacious, clean with towels. The owners had been very thoughtful and provided extras we did not expect (DVD library, games, binoculars, amazing spotlight for nightlife spotting, a selection of books) which would have been a bonus on wet rainy days. Luckily we had great weather and spent our daylight hours exploring walking trails. So after a short stay in the Bunya Mountains we agreed we will return (lots more trails to walk) and will definitely stay at Ecos again. Thankyou to the staff at the accommodation centre for facilitating our visit as they made the whole process seamless and easy.

This is our 4th visit to Ecos and it is by far our favourite . Lovely and peaceful with a nice amount of funkiness. So nice to have the beds made, a good quality fireplace, air conditioning and no sign of ugly, old fashion 2nd hand furniture like so many of the Bunya Houses.

Ecos is a great lodge for two. We found it comfortable with most everything you need for a short stay. We would suggest guests bring in food. We would not recommend purchasing the BBQ pack. We found it poor value for money.

Nicely appointed 2 bedroom home - we loved the privacy and outlook of the trees from the deck. Clean bathrooms with nice sized bedrooms, and the living area was very comfortable. The fireplace was excellent and managed to heat the whole house.

A fantastic house. Stocked like no other house we have ever stayed in. Perfect for a get away A beautiful location, peaceful & quiet.. comfortable beds. Great choice of DVDs Had a great time, did most of the walks. Pity there weren’t better eating out choices. If you don’t like to walk there is not much to do. Will be back again. Loved the house & location Sitting on the deck was a good way to pass the time also. All you need is a good book. Enjoy the bush it is wonderful

Loved it! Beautiful space with lots of room for two couples. Ecos was fully stocked with basic food items (salt, pepper, tea, coffee, oil, etc) and anything else we could have needed - insect repellant, shampoo, etc. There were even books, dvds and games. We definitely weren’t expecting this and had brought our own stuff as requested, so this was greatly appreciated. We aim to rebook for a winter getaway as we loved our time at Ecos.

Very private location, nice Scandi design, fully equipped & very clean. Nice to have some extras thrown in by the owner as well. Just a shame reception comes in & out & there is no wifi. Beds were a little low & couches difficult to get out of but overall very nice. Oh & birdlife on the deck lovely

The Ecos cottage was excellent in every way. It was colder than we had anticipated so the fire being set was a bonus. Enjoyed the Bunya pines very much and a good meal at the restaurant. The one thing we missed was seeing the receptionists smiling faces. Hope this can change soon. JSP

Loved our stay here... I would love to come again at a warmer time of the year... the wood heater did not warm the whole living area. I think a lot of heat escaped through the large window on the opposite side of the room. Maybe curtains at night might have helped keep the room warm? We spent a lot of time sitting on the floor next to the fire! Everything else was perfect!! Thank you...

Our time in this incredible place exceeded our expectations. On opening the orange door the wow factor starts, the fire was on and plentiful stock for keeping it up, cupboards filled with an array of homewares to satisfy even the fussiest of cook. (A book with all the instructions on how to work the appliances was a great touch too) The little treats in the fridge where huge hits with the homemade lemon butter, jam and the local coffee.. YUM! Then there is the "open" plan that takes in the view and brings the serenity in. Relaxing and privacy is what this place has in abundance. Has become a firm favourite with our family. All this and with the choice of eating out down at either Poppy's cafe or the tavern... Ticks all the boxes and more... We Will Be Back!!! *****

We stayed on 17 & 18 August. ECOS was very clean and pleasant. We enjoyed the sunsets and the birds etc. We love to cook and eat good food, so it was nice to have a variety of cooking utensils etc. The log fire stove was warm and comfortable to spend the mornings and evenings.

This is a very special place. A beautifully designed scandi house in a wonderful serene place. We were greeted by king parrots on the houses treetop balcony, then in flew two rosellas. The windows were doubled glazed so the wood heater was effective with the fan turned on. I loved the float rugs, the Marrimekko wall hanging and the orange accents. Lovely dunas and pure cotton blankets. A fabulous house.

Bunya mountains is always amazing and the accommodation is run very well. Unfortunately the beds and couch at Ecos are terribly old, uncomfortable, and desperately need to be replaced. We woke with all sorts of new pains. A track is currently being built behind the house to the lookout.

We had a great stay, accommodation was as pictured. A couple of minor issues, BarBQ didn’t work very well and could do with better lighting in dining room/kitchen area, along with ceiling fans in bedrooms and living area. Would recommend place especially for couples.

loved my stay. its my second stay and won't be my last, however we had a " brown out" resulting in no water, I searched all the information leaflets etc to find a solution, so maybe include the instructions and a photo of the pump and whereabouts of it to assist the tenants to reset. I'm sure it doesn't happen often, but just once at 5.00 in the morning and no way of contacting anyone until after 8.30. ( I did not consider this an emergency) was just a little inconvenient

We had a pleasant stay at Ecos, everything we needed was there, clean and comfortable and close enough to walk to the cafes and restaurants, and to the various walks through the rain forest and surrounding areas. It had been many a year since my last trip to Bunya Mountains and I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of eating places and enjoyed a scotch overlooking the beautiful surrounds.

Ecos natural surroundings were delightful. The bathrooms were very cold and would benefit from individual heat lamps. Ecos is a wonderful place to stay in the Bunya Mountians! The home is beautifully styled and well stocked with kitchen basics and utensils (there are even tealight candles for use on the balcony!). We loved the balcony in the mornings with many different birds around us and in the evenings looking out to the lights of Dalby, millions of stars in the dark sky and Dingoes howling in the distance. The house was spotlessly clean with extra linen available for cooler weather and throw rugs to wrap around us on the balcony. The fire was lovely and was left set and ready to light even though we had brought kindling and matches with us just in case. Many walking trails and picnic areas are within close range and Bunya National Park is absolutely magnificent! We had a really wonderful experience and have already shared details of Ecos with our friends. Hopefully we will visit Bunya Mountains again and Ecos will definitely be our choice of place to stay.

ECOS is delightful, positioned in a private nook, filtered views over the western downs and extremely comprehensively fitted out. The proprietors provide linen and towels (which is unusual for the Mountain). The attention to detail is extraordinary. It is situated with easy access to the cycling trails, walks and lookout. A short walk to the park headquarters and cafe etc.

Only negatives no real views because of the bush, 25 minutes walk to the village if that bothers you and road in a little uneven & rocky for basic cars.

We were surprised by the difference of outside and inside look. So spacious and modern. Lovely porch and kind gifts of coffee and thank you for the homemade jelly we couldn’t take with us as it had a glass jar. Lovely suroundings and nice walks nearby. The map towards the cottage was a bit confusing. Good fire and plenty supply of wood, bring slippers in winter to keep your feet warm.

Clean and neat property with everything you would need in the kitchen. Nice shower and spacious bathroom. A little hard to find on the map and a short bumpy dirt road at the end. Only downsides were that the balcony was dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable, bouncy and sagging in the middle.

Our three days staying at Ecos in the fresh, clean air of the Bunya Mountains with friends was uplifting, invigorating and rejuvenated us thoroughly. The house was perfect for us, set amongst the trees, and supplied all our needs. The friendly bird visitors delighted us... many photos were taken. Our two evening meals at the restaurant were excellent and we would like to complement the staff on being extremely professional, especially Chris, who educated us later in the Whiskey Bar in all things alcohol. The drive from the main road to the house is very rough dirt road, the house "Ecos" doesn't look like much when you arrive at the front - BUT - as soon as you open the house door it's a different story, lovely bright rooms, very clean, everything you need and more is there. The big verandah is terrific, great view, lots of birds. The tranquility in the morning and evening is beautiful.

We stayed at Ecos for 2 nights - our first trip to the Bunyas in Winter (we have stayed in Spring and Autumn previously and loved it). Seeing the Bunyas at a different time was magic - foggy morning starts clearing to beautiful western views, then the stars and the lights of Dalby at night from a tree-surrounded deck. The fire kept us warm! Ecos is a great place to stay, away from the main village area so is quiet and private. The home is very well-equipped with everything you could need for a cosy stay - and the hosts left us coffee and a treat in the fridge - a lovely welcoming touch! We love the Bunyas as a family and a couple - and will return to Ecos again. What a find! Thank you

Great location, and even good weather was supplied.🤪 Thoroughly recommend this house and Bunya Mountains. Well done to the owners, who put a lot of thought into how people would like to spend their time in the house. We took wild bird seed and sat and watched a great variety of birds on the rail of the terrace.

Ecos is exactly as advertised, a beautiful 2 bdm cottage ideal for two couples. The queen size bedrooms with their own bathroom is separated by a delightful open plan lounge/dining/kitchen with a warm fire and lovely big windows/doors. The wild life is also at your door step with amazing Rosellas and wallabies happy to say hello. Everything you could possibly need (and more) is supplied at Ecos. It is easy and quick to get to all of the walks and to Poppies Cafe etc. Would definitely recommend, loved staying there

This would be at least the 10th time we have stayed at Ecos. Each time the service and facilities are improved. Coffee and jams in the fridge to generous linen allocations and little things like binoculars to view the scenery. It is obvious that the owners or managers actively manage the property. Nothing is ever over looked.

This is our 3rd holiday at the beautiful Bunya Mountains and our 2nd stay at Ecos. The house is nestled away amongst big trees and native bushland. The peace and tranquilty was bliss and the amazing birds that came to visit us on the deck a delight! We loved the local roo population who posed for numerous photographs. My magical moment was walking through the swirling mists and feeling the crisp cool mountain air. Our mornings were waking to a chorus of Whip Birds, Cat Birds, Currawongs and numerous other birds local to the area. We came, we conquered all the walking tracks and appreciated the big bath with views of the tree canopy and the heavens above after our adventures in the National Park. The log fire was a comfort on 2 cold mornings of our week long stay. We'll be back one winter for another "chilled out" escape from the rat race. We loved Ecos. The contemporary style, spacious open plan, privacy, great deck, the wildlife, King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas, whip birds and mother possum and baby, was wonderful to see close up. We lived the orange soft furnishings it was a colour that so suited this home. The wood fire was wonderful to dry our clothes and shoes beside after getting caught in a thunderstorm on our first day. We stayed at Ecos booked via Bunya Mountains accommodation team. Simply perfect. This is not the first time we have booked Ecos and certainly will not be the last! Large 2 bedroom home with 2 bathrooms (one with bathtub!) and a central kitchen, dining, lounge and open fire place. It is located about 5-6 minutes drive from the central area which is nice because you feel very secluded and away in the bush. Wallabies, birds and brush turkeys visit. Very well stocked with kitchen equipment, blankets, games and books. Large 6 seater outside dining table on large balcony with fabulous bush views. We bbq’d each night after our cocktails. You can see that the owner really cares about this property. No wifi but telstra mobile works well for calls and internet access. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at Ecos every year for eight years, and keep coming back because it is such a great property. The two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, allowed privacy for two couples who want to get away. The house is simple but very well appointed, clean and easy to live in, and separate from all of the other properties. If you are looking for somewhere private, this is the place for you. Very much our favorite spot on the mountain.
