We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home, and appreciated how it was family friendly with its yard being somewhere the children were drawn to play for much of our stay. They also enjoyed sleeping in the loft which overlooked the cosy living area. This 3 bedroom cottage had all we needed, including a lovely large bathroom with a claw foot bath to relax in. Even though we were there in summer, we didn't need to use the fans or air-conditioning. We did utilise the fireplace one night for the children to indulge in roasting marshmallows as a treat. I would recommend this home to both families and couples who are wanting a quiet getaway.

This property was exactly what we were needing. It was a family friendly cottage with 3 bedrooms & a lovely cosy living area. The children loved sleeping in the loft & having access to the yard where they were able to venture out and play within view of the house. The bathroom was a treat, with it's claw foot bath & walk in shower to enjoy and relax in. The 2 separate toilets were also convenient. Even though it was summer, we didn't need to use the fans or air-conditioning, and used the fireplace one night for the children to enjoy roasting marshmallows. Overall, the house provided all we needed for our short stay and would recommend it to families or couples wanting a quite time away.

Such a beautiful cottage! Everything we needed was there - the kitchen is well equipped, there was more than enough firewood. The cottage is immaculate - very thoughtfully furnished and extremely clean. It is very spacious and for our family of 3 we had more than enough room. The front and back verandahs are also lovely, and you can choose where you want to sit to either be in the sun, or avoid it.

Fabulous cosy cabin with lots of quaint character, perfect for a group of us. Nice deck/s for breakfasts where the lovely animal neighbours come say hi. Lovely putting the fire on in the cool (summer!) evenings. Well equipment-stocked kitchen for us to cook our meals every day. Great easy walk to the little Bunya centre and the walking tracks. We all enjoyed staying at Bergenlea - just right size, nicely appointed, private with pleasant outlook and clean. We enjoyed the visiting cockatoos and wildlife, but the naughty brush turkeys squabbled on the feeding platform and ended up knocking it off the post.

I took a Dutch relative and my two Grandsons to the Bunya Mountains in April 2023. It was my first visit and it was so peaceful and picturesque. The wildlife were amazing. The cabin we stayed in was ideal and suited our group. A lovely warm fireplace and the beautiful verandahs looking out. The bathroom was large. A lovely stay and I intend to go back soon.

Bergenlea was our dream accommodation! We had 7 nights here enjoying the peaceful surrounds except for the chirping of the magnificent abundance of wildlife. The beautiful birds visiting us each day was delightful, especially seeing the Satin Bowerbirds up so close. We completed a number of the beautiful bushwalks, visited the restaurant and Poppies Cafe which the food was amazing. Beside this we really enjoyed relaxing and reading with one visit down to Kingaroy. Will definitely be back.

My wife and I had a great time here with our two grandchildren. There was plenty of space, the interior was modern and well cared for and there were lots of windows which allowed in plenty of light and provided a beautiful outlook. Having verandahs on the eastern and western sides of the house gave us a lot of flexibility and it was nice to be able to unload the car without using the steps. We would love to stay at Bergenlea again.

I have visited the Bunya Mountains over the past 15 years and it continues to be a quality and awesomely worthwhile holiday. This trip we tried a different house unit, and, as always, it lived up to the photos perfectly. Comfortable queen beds, large heater stove, spacious verandas, serene and ambient. Lots of parrots and other birds so bring a big box of wild bird seed. Many Kangaroos and Wallabies too. The odd Dingo was aloof but that is expected. It had rained quite heavily so the creeks and waterfalls were abundant in water flow and just beautiful. The bush walks are very accessible and no climbing is needed at the area we trekked. This trip the internet connections were excellent and I had no problem with using my mobile phone anyplace on the mountain. This was a nice surprise for sharing photos with others. But you come up to chill and enjoy the peace that is abundantly everywhere and not poke keys and miss the scenery. The food was excellent and this time we ate more at Poppies. I am Coeliac and they accommodated me very well, ensuring any cross contamination in food preparation was minimised as best as they could, which was fine for me as no reactions and delicious options. The house was clean and tidy and everything worked without any issues. We'll be back again as it is a great place to see Quensland's tropical beauty and wildlife in a real atmosphere. Five big stars again. Well done BM Staff.

We stayed for 3 nights at Bergenlea and it was idyllic. Very very quiet. The house was delightful, the aircon was a godsend, the native rosellas, cockatoos and King Parrots all perched on our balcony within arm's reach. Very tranquil. Would highly recommend and definitely go again!

We loved the cottage but were a bit upset when we woke up the first morning with no power. Turns out there was a fault with the septic pump which has been an ongoing issue. Would have been good to have been told about this as we spent considerable time trying to work out what the problem was

Couldn't fault Bergenlea at all. Bathroom was a little chilly being that it's quite a large area, but it was some of the coldest nights of the year so a perfectly hot shower or bath was just the medicine. The little things, like the drawer full of DVDs, and the cupboard full of board games made just the difference - especially on the nights in front of the wood fireplace. Plenty of wood was already chopped and ready to go. The wallabies and bush turkeys loved sitting outside pondering life just as much as we did. Looking forward to visiting again in a different season. Front an overall perspective, the only opportunity we felt the area has is recycling. There was no talk of rubbish recycling and as far as we could see, all rubbish went into the same bins. We had more cans, bottles and recycling than regular rubbish but had no alternative other than to bring it back to the city with us to recycle. This wont deter us from visiting again! :)

This was my sixth stay at the Bunya's. Phone reservation simple, check-in easy. Would highly recommend Bergenlea for Couples. Lovely chalet with everything you need, has a real cosy feel. Within walking distance to walking tracks and shops/cafe.

Great house. Lovely bathroom. Everything nicely decorated. Bring your own linen though as you have to hire it and $20 for a set of Queen sheets $10 for single and $5 for each towel, it can get very pricey. Especially if you decide to stop in unexpectently, it would be cheaper to buy a set at a 2nd hand store in Kingaroy and keep them for yourself even as rags if you have to.

I brought some friends up the the Bunya Mountains for a girls weekend. We had such an amazing time! Waking up early to feed the birds and drink coffee watching the wallabies from the front deck. The house was amazing. Great pantry space. The master is adorable. The house was perfectly set out for sitting on the couch near the fire and also for everyone having enough space to chill out alone. It is an easy walk to Poppies to grab a bite to eat and a very short drive to the pub (because it’s too cold at night to walk!). We went at a really quiet time so none of the houses were rented out. It was pretty close to perfect.

The accommodation provided was fabulous we were very comfortable for our 3 night stay. Thank goodness the weather was cool and dreary with low cloud and rain as it meant we made full use of the fire! :) The kitchen was well stocked and everything was lovely and clean.......a tea pot was a result too for us Poms as we like a nice cuppa made in a pot! The bath in the bathroom is perfect for that long soak and to relax after a long walk in the forest, not that we did any walking ........we spent 3 day in our PJs only getting dressed to get take away coffee from the Bistro. Fabulous for a family or couples, cosy inside with lots of space outside for the little ones to run around. Wallabies with Joeys in the pouch were beautiful and the birds enjoyed the wild bird food that we brought with us. Even the bush turkeys had a go! It was hard to leave but we will be back very soon ......that's a promise.

very nice, only one problem all the beds were infested with either dust mites or bed bugs, I had about 7 or 8 bites and one of my kids had 3 or 4 but they were in all the beds everyone felt them, they cushions on the sofa also semmed rather dusty as well, other than that everything was nice, clean, neat, relaxing and couldn't have asked for more

Due to the kind of work we do, when we holiday we need a complete escape from anything to do with computers, phones and technology. This was why we choose Bunya Mountains. We choose Bergenlea after walking around the available places to rent and looking at what each had to offer. Bergenlea was close enough to walk into the village so could leave the car behind and had everything we wanted. The fireplace was easy to light and kept the cabin toasty warm. The bath was a big decider and did not disappoint, so good and a great way to relax and unwind after a day of walking. Bring bath salts or epson salts to add to the experience. The beds were warm and comfortable, with heaps of pillows to choose from. Everything you could want was supplied in the kitchen along with books, games, music and DVD's. The 2 verandahs on either side of the cabin meant you had the best of sunrise and sunset. We stayed 4 nights, walked nearly every track, ate in the restaurant and cafe and had a wonderful time. We will be back and will stay in Bergenlea again, wouldn't go anywhere else.
