Had a great 3 nights. Lovely place and surrounds. My kids (10yo and 7yo) enjoyed all the birds and wallabies. So peaceful and our house was fantastic - grandparents downstairs and us and kids upstairs. Would definitely recommend.

I love the Bunya Mountains.. although worried about the wild dogs. I forgot to tell you at checkout that I saw 2 of them about 6.00am Sunday morning on the hill just across from Ballymore. They were trying to hunt a wallaby. Might want to pass that onto the Ranger. Otherwise I loved the house. Great facilities inside. Great location. Really did feel like a home away from home.

Great house..... large bedrooms (4) and bathrooms (2), excellent kitchen - dining - and living space. Log fire was an excellent size, with a fan boost. Kitchen well equipped. Excellent location for winter sunshine. Cleanliness of the property was excellent, as was the selection of books and DVDs...Accommodation staff great to deal with. ( Our group has management rights experience, are are very particular!)

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Ballymore. It turned out to be a great property for our group of 2 families; 4 adults and 4 kids. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was set up so well that we cooked a hearty meal each night. The fireplace turned out to be a great spot to playboard games and drink red wine, while the sunroom was such a good size, that the kids played games and ate popcorn at one end and the adults reclined on the comfy lounge drinking tea and eating biscuits over great conversation. All in all we are definitely planning to return to the Ballymore again next year - fingers crossed it will be available.

We loved this house! There was so much space and the north-facing extra living area was wonderful in winter. It was fully equipped with board games, DVDs, washing machine and dryer. Most things we needed were supplied.

Ballymore was beautiful and clean. The Bunya Mountains accom staff were wonderful and helpful. Thanks for making our weekend so special!

Great place to relax and see the birds and wallabies - occasional snake as well. Ballymore is our home from home, near to everything and well equipped.

This is a wonderful old home. Our children loved it, especially all the mini little cupboards in each bedroom (possibly old card table cupboards). The king parrots come and greet you, along with plenty of wallabies to watch.
Peter Cornell
Very enjoyable stay and found the house very comfortable and practical for 4 people, with great layout and plenty of room to spread out. The house is extremely well equipped and all very positive vibes from us. We had a smoke alarm issue that was rectified and we were kept fully informed of developments which culminated in the engagement of a outside Electrician. We also had a very enjoyable dining experience at the Bunya's Tavern

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing 3 nights at Ballymore. We spent most of our time reading in the beautiful sun room. Thank you for providing a wonderful library of novels and a great selection of DVDs which were both an unexpected delight. We really enjoyed watching some very old DVDs such as the Bismarck. The house was lovely and clean and felt homely from the minute we walked in the door. The main bedroom upstairs was missing a curtain and we were woken up very early in the morning due to the amount of sunlight entering the room. We will definitely be back and will bring some family with us next time. The house was well stocked with kitchen utensils and we appreciated that every appliance we used was working. Thank you from Colin & Lorraine

The house was well equipped. There wasn't anything that we could have wanted that wasn't catered for. We loved the house, clean, well kept, and truly can't think of a thing to fault it on. So impressed with the number of books and DVDs available. Even had some bird food in the cupboard.

Well presented house and well maintained. The fire is large enough to heat the whole house. We have stayed 4 times in this house and love it. Thanks.

Ballymore was a lovely comfortable snd clean house to stay in for our holiday. Feeding birds on the front verandah and enjoying the winter sun flooding in to the sunroom were highlights for the family.

love staying at Ballymore. I have stayed there twice before and it is definately my very first choice The sunroom is fantastic to sit and enjoy the warmth of the sun early morning. The amount of dvd's and the titles would appeal to all. Top marks for a great stay. Thanks

what a lovely large 4 bedroom house! Lovely big bedrooms and bathrooms and extra living space off main lounge room made for plenty of playing space for the kids. the property felt really open and comfortable, had beautiful open views out front and back, and we really enjoyed staying there. Well stocked kitchen for cooking in also.

Another great stay at Ballymore. The house was spotless when we arrived and there was wood and firelighters ready to go. The girls at the booking office were friendly and helped when asked for info.
Ron Freyling
The dwelling was comfortable but needs some maintenance The veranda boards are lifting, water leaks from the upstairs shower and an appropriate access roadway to the building is essential All 4 rented houses had wet wood to try and get heaters going. A small shelter that keeps wood dry would be a very favourable addition The library of books and discs was very good
Andrea Staines
Loved the house, clean and well presented. Lots of visiting birds and wallabies. Will definitely be booking again.

We had an extraordinary time at the Bunya Mountains. The weather was perfect, warm sunny days and enough chill of an evening to light the log fire - perfect for a comfy evening! Ballymore was amazing, spacious and well furnished rooms with loads of extra blankets and a kitchen equipped with every possible utensil and cookware. My grandkids really appreciated the jigsaw puzzles and huge array of DVDs. The kids had fun feeding the birds, watching the wallabies and finding the tadpoles. The museum was a great hit too. All in all a peaceful, relaxing holiday. We definitely recommend staying at the Bunya Mountains, especially at Ballymore ♥

Loved our stay at the Bunya Mountains, lovely walking tracks and out stay at Ballymore was very clean, welcoming and warm. Everything that was needed was there including cut firewood which was great.

Perfect house for a family with kids. It has everything you need. We were surprised that, the owner kept many essential items which you might need incase you forget to bring there.

Our first family getaway, it was so peaceful and relaxing. Definitely coming up there again. The house was perfect and very roomy, everything you need is there. I would definitely encourage people to go here to wind down.
Jan Watkins
Needs some love and attention - hole in the wall in the upstairs bedroom (which I reported on our arrival). Flaking paint (big time) on window sills in same bedroom. Oven needs a clean.
Steven Reynolds
We selected this house to help accommodate our wedding guests. It was beautifully fitted out and fitted our needs precisely. The location was very close to the venue (The Bunyas) and the stay was enjoyed by all.

We had an amazing stay at Ballymore. It was close to everything we needed bush walking tracks ,poppies cafe, and information centre. The birds life and wallabies were a great enjoyment for our grandchildren.

We loved our weekend at Ballymore. The house had everything we needed and lots of space to spread out and enjoy a weekend away. Extras such as a great choice of DVD’s and books were amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice comfy home. Lots of space. Great sunroom. Walkable to cafes. Clean. Front verandah needs a little repair with broken railings. Fireplace door needs checking as it easily comes open. Would stay here again.

As like every time, we enjoyed this time as well. Though it was raining, but still we have passed a fantastic memorable time. I have been going there for 7 years, Ballymore is the property, I booked twice. It has everything a family need. It has all necessary utensils, 2 televisions, thousands of CDs, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer. We also found 2L of long-life milk, paracetamol, bird foods, lighter etc (though we didn't need to use these). Thanks to the owner. I appreciate his/her good sense of humor.
Julie Marsland
Ballymore is in a great location, close to the village centre and to the start of the central tracks. It is comfortable and spacious, ideal for our extended family trip.
Wendy Pearslon
We really loved our 3 nights at Ballymore. Very spacious, solid & well planned home. It was rainy the first day & we were cosy with the fire, sunroom & well entertained with the huge selection of DVDs, games & books. The only things we could think of is it would be good to have some smaller dessert or breakfast bowls and more soup spoons and steak knives. This home is well situated to catch views of the National Park Bunyas forest plus still close to other Estate houses.

We had a wonderful stay at Ballymore. Second time we have stayed there and will definitely be back again. The house is well equipped with all you could want for your stay there. Location is good. Short walk to the Tavern and shop. Reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

We chose mid-week and were so pleased to have a lot less visitors. But Ballymore was perfect: big, everything you could possibly need, extraordinary collection of 80s DVDs and plenty of very friendly parrots.

Good stay as always. This is our yearly week holiday here at Bunya mountain with 3 other families since 1985. There had been many changes since, more houses and more visitors. The weather is usually cooler than Brisbane this time of the year. All our children used to love coming up here when they were young staying the week but they now have their own families or careers over sea so mainly the seniors are here every year to welcome the new year. Bunya mountain is a memorial place for us all since the first time we stepped foot here in 1985. We hope to visit for many more years yet.

We recently had a lovely stay at Ballymore. It is situated in the Rainforest Estate quite high up with a beautiful north facing sunroom that captured the summer breeze. A lovely area to escape and have some quiet time. The house has two separate dining areas with an extra eating area on the front verandah. It was lovely to rotate our dining and activity areas around these areas over our short stay! The house is well equipped with two bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs and a has just had the kitchen renovated. Breakfast was a treat on the verandah cooking with a new BBQ with a hood and the local wildlife (Corella's) paying us a visit! The restaurant, cafe, walking tracks and tennis court are just a short walk away which we enjoyed. Overall a great place to stay at a very reasonable price!
Michael Stark
What a nice place to stay! All the conveniences you could possibly want and excellent instructions on what to bring (or hire), how to get there, how to find the office and then Ballymore itself. The General Store has basics if you forget to pack something. If you don't intend using the restaurant or cafe, remember to do your shopping on the way. The verandah is a great place for a late afternoon BBQ watching the wildlife (wallabies). Take particular note about the wildlife and that ticks are a given. If you spend any time on the grass area you will probably attract a few. This is no problem if you are aware and take a suitable repellent precaution. There are LOTS of wallabies and the various parrots will visit try to con food. The National Park is right there and there are even walks suitable for mobility challenged people. Mobility challenged people would not do the complete circuit track due to sections with steps and no hand rail but still worth the effort. Remember - it is not just about daytime. Being well away from city lights, if the sky is clear a short drive of about 2km to Fishers Lookout provides an ideal place to view the night sky.

Ballymore is in a perfect location, a short stroll from the the 'village' and the start of the walking trails. It was fully stocked with firewood, a huge BBQ, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds and furniture. The shape of the house meant the fire kept the whole house toasty warm, even in the upstairs bedrooms. The only issue is that there are triangular glass sections above the main bedroom windows, which do not have curtains/blinds on them so the sun floods in very early in the morning...definitely not conducive to a sleep-in!

Had a great time. House was well equipped, had everything we needed.
Jan and Mark Evans
Couldn't fault it. Spacious, clean, comfortable and very well equipped - although couldn't find the egg cups!! Would certainly recommend it - and in fact already have! Exactly the sort of place you would wish to spend a relaxing weekend - or week even - in The Bunyas.

Ballymore was a lovely cosy house to stay in. The best features were the ample dining areas and the sunroom that made a perfect kids playroom. The bedrooms were generous sized although I would have loved some blinds for the high windows as the rooms stayed quite light during the day which wasn’t ideal for children napping. Bathrooms were not modern but perfectly functional, although no bath for babies. Great location with a big yard, great views and a short walk to the cafe.

This is the seventh house we have stayed in and my favourite. Great dejection of books, DVDs a beautiful sun room. Very cosy, great fire and balcony.

Our third year in a row visiting the Bunya Mountains. It is the perfect destination for a complete reconnection with nature, disconnect from the technology world we live in and connect with family again. The freshest air, the clearest skies and the most wonderful forest to explore.

We loved our stay at Ballymore over the weekend - it was perfect for our family holiday. The house was tidy, clean & very well equipped. Lovely views! Will definitely be staying here again.

Great House...our 17th year of staying at this most comfortable home...

We had a family group of 8 to celebrate our daughter's 25th birthday. We came from Brisbane and Dalby. The house was absolutely perfect for us, cosy but plenty of room to not be in each others way. Every cupboard we opened was a surprise - so many books, dvds and games to choose from. We used all options, playing games at night reading and watching DVDs in the afternoon - TV and phones were not switched on at all! As we cooked most meals we found the kitchen to be more than adequate for our needs. We will most definitely return preferably for a longer time. Would highly recommend the house as well as the booking service. A shame some of the walks and lookout were closed. The Café does a wonderful breakfast and excellent coffee and scones.
Michael Clarke
Cannot fault accommodation. Every thing we required was there. The availability of wood for the fire was great, as was the joy of all the wildlife. Will definitely be back as we have stayed at this home before.

A really wonderful weekend. The house was well-equipped, comfortable and had plenty of spaces for relaxation. Bunya Mountains is the perfect place for a weekend away!

Everything was lovely as usual - the sunroom in Ballymore is such a wonderful spot for card games/chatting etc! Only downside to our visit this year was the fridge in the laundry wasn't cold enough - even though the temp was turned to max. We rely on this fridge for the vast quantites of food we bring to the mountain for our annual family gathering! (Mar 8-10th 2019)

We enjoyed a family Christmas at Ballymore and had a wonderful and enjoyable time of it. We did bush walks each day, spent time reading, enjoyed cups of coffee and generally had a relaxing time. We could not have expected any more than what we had to do as that was the type of Christmas we wanted to have. Whilst Ballymore was very spacious and had every imaginable thing that you could possibly want or need there were however just a couple of niggling things that you and/or the owners should be aware of. Firstly the second refrigerator in the laundry was a great disappointment as we intended to use it for all our drinks. We stocked it up and came back at a later time to get some drinks out only to find that the fridge was not working. The freezer part of the fridge worked ok but the actual fridge itself was completely out of commission. There was not even a sign to inform us that the fridge was inoperable. The females in our group were very put out by the second problem which was that as there was no dishwashing machine, which was ok, they expected there to be tea towels supplied especially as we were never advised to bring these items with us. The two tea towels that we did have with us ended up dripping wet with all the washing of dishes etc which had to be carried out.

Absolutely lovely house to stay in. Lovely facilities, very spacious and really well looked after

Annual Bunya Trip! This is our 12th year straight and some years sneaking in a double visit. First time staying in Ballymore and it was AMAZING! Have already rebooked for next year! We have two small children and the house was great especially the gorgeous sunroom! Only suggestion I’d have is maybe a few hooks in the bathrooms to hang clothes on but that’s only a minor first world problem, can’t fault Ballymore!
From $190/night
For up to 4 guests. Extra guests (2 years and over) $20 per night per person.
