A very cozy cabin for two. Great views of a valley and pasture for horses. Quiet and relaxing for a few nights away from the city noises (and technology - connectivity was spotty - we were glad for it). Lots of beautiful birdlife right up on the balcony, and a wallaby down below in the grass. The unit was a great size, plenty to do (books, DVD player, outside deck), and a short walk (about 1km) to the cafe and tavern. Well stocked with firewood.

Altitude was a great little cottage for two. Everything we needed - comfortable, warm bed, kitchen well appointed and supplied, same in bathroom. Clean and peaceful ambience. Getting rugged up and sitting on the deck early in the morning, watching the full moon rise, eating breakfast with the wallabies below, birds and possum visiting...beautiful walks in stunning forests and scenery. Excellent service at the Bistro, great spot for coffee. We'll be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Bunya. Bunya village was well set out and green and clean! Good information re the walks. "Altitude" was wonderful - the place was exceptionally clean and had a superb array of cooking equipment/dishware etc.. The outside balcony (with excellent furniture) allowed us to enjoy the views down the valley and across to the south-east. This accommodation made our visit so memorable.

We had 2 nights at the Bunya Mountains staying at Altitude in early January 2022. Everything that we could have needed was provided by the house owner. Wish we could have stayed longer as it was fabulous - the whole lot - accommodation, position, wildlife and the service provided by the accommodation centre. We really liked where the accommodation was situated, close to the main centre but private. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone planning on staying up at the Bunya Mountains.

My partner and I really enjoyed our time staying at the "Altitude" cabin. Rather spacious despite how small it looks on the outside, a really comfy bed and a fully functional kitchen. The views were amazing and we had no shortage of curious wildlife come and say hello. The rosellas and parrots were happy to be hand fed, we had a nightly possum visit and wallabies, scrub turkey and blue tongue lizards outside every morning. The cafe and restaurant were a short walk down the road, as are some other amenities. Thanks to the trees and thick scrub you feel a million miles from anyone, but everything is close if you need it. Everyone at the office was polite and booking was a breeze. Had a great weekend and will be doing it again.

We had a four day mid-week escape to the cool of the Bunya Mountains in February, staying at Altitude, and loved it. Altitude was comfortable and lovely, providing everything you could reasonably wish for. To us the main attractions of the Bunyas are the wildlife and the multitude of easy to moderate rain-forest walks.

We had a wonderful week staying in Altitude. Enjoyed the wildlife, the walks and the weather (a mix of foggy mornings and sunny afternoons). Office staff were more than helpful in our dealings with them and the wait staff at the Tavern were equally pleasant and efficient. Would recommend Bunya Mountains as a great place for a relaxing stay.

Altitude is a very comfortable and well-equipped cottage for 1 or 2 people. Being so close to the forest and hearing the thud of Bunya nuts falling from the trees was a delight - and reinforced the owners' polite advice to not park the car under a tree! Beautifully cool weather, wallabies and birds, and a glimpse of the Darling Downs over the tree tops made for a pleasant stay. Close to everything, but quiet and peaceful. A row of trees between Renyar and Altitude would provide a more private or secluded feel, but the two decks on opposite sides of the cottage give choice as to how exposed you wish to be to other homes and the street.

Just a couple of thoughts for improvements: have an up to date menu from the cafe, some body wash in the bathroom, have clear plastic curtains on the outside decks which could be rolled up and be pulled down when it is raining or wet and foggy.

We spent 4 nights staying in cottage "Altitude" and would thoroughly recommend this property for a couple - quiet, backs onto rainforest, lots of birds. We chose Altitude because it was away from other cottages. Friday and Saturday were very cold and wet and we were grateful for the wood heater (which was easy for DH – an old bushie - to get going) and the electric blanket on the bed. Because DH and I are campers (tent) Altitude was luxurious for us. (I did bring many items with us – dishcloth, dishwashing liquid, tea-towels and more - which turned out to be unnecessary.) The kitchen was well equipped as I catered for us with meals that could be cooked in the microwave (marinated duck legs on two nights) and microwave dishes were provided. (I will admit to bringing DH’s breakfast frypans for eggs and fish-fingers with us so I didn’t have to wash pans.) A wonderful place to stay for a couple who are not chasing four-five stars.

A lovely little cozy cabin which was absolutely perfect for our couple of nights away to celebrate my 30th birthday with my partner. The fire was definitely needed as it got down to about 3 degrees one night, and the addition of heated blankets on the bed are a nice touch. The place was lovely and clean, everything was very easy to use. The wildlife was a highlight as we hand-fed two beautiful king parrots and several Rosella's. We will definitely be back again!

Altitude was a comfortable, well appointed cottage for a couple, having an interesting south-westerly outlook and tucked in against dense rainforest so birds and local wildlife could be seen and heard at close quarters. It is located 5 minutes' walk from spectacular rainforest trails where magnificent stands of Bunya and Hoop pines can be seen at arms-length on well maintained walking tracks to waterfalls and scenic lookouts. This is a National Park of exceptional quality with unique flora and fauna managed by a caring team of Rangers and staff. A must for your bucket list!

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the Bunya Mountains and in the Altitude cabin. Not only did we have lots of birds visit our deck during the day but I also watched fairy wrens and wallabies play on our lawn while I enjoyed a cup of tea and book. With its private rainforest driveway entry, it was really a magical place to stay. To top it all off, I only had to walk around the corner to find fireflies! We'll be back again!

The Bunya Mountains is our kind of place. It was beautifully quiet, and the trees, mountains and solitude were perfect for doing the things we love, bushwalking, reading and thinking. We expanded our bird knowledge and some even deigned to eat seed from our palms! We can now match a bird to its song, I now know what a whip -bird looks like (not what I expected!) and I was amazed by the wide vocabulary of the currawongs. Our property, Altitude, provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the beds were already made up for us. The weather was great while we were there so we followed the sun between the eastern deck which overlooked paddocks, and the western deck which looked into shady Riflebird Park. As we walked through the Park to tea at dusk, we were absolutely awed and delighted to see fireflies! You really could believe in fairies here. We ate delicious and filling meals at the Bunya Tavern for two nights of our stay They were closed in the evening for the other two nights that we were there, or we would have eaten there every night! It had a laid-back and comfortable ambience, and the wait staff were considerate of which quiet corner might be nicer for us. We visited Poppies cafe every morning for cappuccinos and breakfast. My husband was extremely impressed with the amount of bacon on his breakfast wrap! The serves of everything were generous, and provided with a smile and a laugh. As the days progressed and we became 'regulars' in a way, it was nice to have a smile and a little chat with the now-familiar person behind the counter. It was a really lovely stay, a home-away-from-home. Thank you to Bunya mountains accommodation for the smooth coordination, and for the owners of 'Altitude' for a peaceful retreat. It was our happy place.

Was an ideal place to spend a couple of days...wish we had longer. Cottage was very comfortable and well appointed. Bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. A good location to do rain forest walks with good food and coffees to follow.

Lovely accommodation. Seamless check in and check out process. Feel some creature comforts could be introduced - AirBNB provides basic pantry essentials... we didn't have coffee or tea, cooking oil or salt and pepper... I think these types of things are now considered standard for this type of accommodation and it would be nice if they were considered an inclusion. But overall lovely spot and very well maintained and clean accommodation.

We had a fantastic stay, made good use of the log burner and the back deck where we sipped wine and watched the wildlife including lots of birds, wallabies and even a dingo (only for 20 seconds but we saw one). Would 100% recommend walking to Fishers lookout, in the evening to see fireflies.. We were there around 6.30pm and they were everywhere. 10/10 for comfort too in Altitude :) We'll be back!

We purchased the breakfast hampers to cut down on food to bring and were pleasantly surprised with its contents. Loved the birds and wallabies. Would recommend.

Beautiful spot! We weren't told where the actual driveway to the house was at the start but we found it eventually up on the main road (different to the address and not signed until you're off the road amongst the trees). Otherwise couldn't fault it, so tranquil with everything we needed!

My husband and i thought that Altitude was a perfect getaway for my birthday. Upon arriving it was just as we expected. The view was lovely with all the wallabies and the birdlife, the draught horses in the paddock below was a bonus. It was a nice touch to have the fireplace ready to go and a well equipped kitchen was a nice surprise. Working in the hospitality industry we know its impossible to keep ants away all of the time, and found that they wanted to take over by Sunday morning. :( The cleaner might like to sweep under the bed as this amount of dust did affect my sinuses !! But Other than these 2 things, it was a lovely stay and we wouldn't hesitate in telling our friends.

Loved our two nights in the mist . Altitude is a delightful little hideaway- hidden but still handy to coffee shops! Definitely need to return. Booking was very easy , fast and enjoyable. Altitude- the only fault was lack of decent coat hangers of all things. So inexpensive but totally necessary to hang clothes on as minimal drawers or shelves in bedroom.Everything else was great.

The house was great and equipped with everything we needed. Unfortunately the weather stopped us from enjoying the lovely outdoors with rain squalls coming through frequently and lots of wind. The fire place was much appreciated which is quite strange for December in Queensland.
